For the last few days I've loaded up ActiveSky 6.5, the pulled weather - for online updates and fetching METAR strings - is coming back 2-3 hours old. Sometimes it does work properly and other times I get the old data. I haven't changed any settings. Use system time is on; my computer time is set correctly; internet explorer is set to work online. Any ideas what could be going on here?Robert

Hi gang, just rebuilt my computer with win 7 and new processor/memory/mobo....spanky. It runs well, and flightsim has never been better....well, except when I could enjoy your improved weather with active sky x and GEX!I thought I'd backed up enough cuz I had a file called "license", but it doesn't contain the activation code. Can you help? The date on my license is 4-26-07 . if that helps. Best,Bob Bernstein

Hi, I'm setting up ASV6 on a networked Vista client.I'm at the step where I need to map the client''s root directory at the serverand then run ActiveRadarConnector at the server from the client. To be able to map the client drive at the server PC, the client drive need to be shared. But Vista's security will not allow its root to be shared. So how I do I get around this?I'm just coming back to FS after a year's break, so sorry if this has been covered before.I'm sure it has but many searches on this forum brought up nothing relevant. Thanks in advanceGeoff

Hello everybody,I have something strange going on with AS6.5. (build 552) running on my network. When I start the program, everything runs as expected. No messages that FS9 or its files can't be found... as one would expected to see when the network config is not correct. But when I want to file a new route, which I select on the main PC, the program runs the usual routines but it doesn't give me the correct 'closest station'.Whichever flightplan I choose, the flightplan always starts at 'DGTK' wherever that my be and the distance to the arrival airport is way off.On top of that (and I think it is related...) writing to fs9 takes about forever to finish.I tried to install …

Hi - I used ASA for a while until I purchased REx in July and have been using the REx weather/graphics but I feel the weather depiction is somewhat hampered for some reason. So I thought I would give ASA another try where it is running on a network setup and REx is installed on the server with FSX so the graphics are influenced by REx. When I use ASA as the weather engine the clouds are somewhat flat which may be caused by what ASA is calling for as compared to what REx is calling for. I have selected up to 20 cloud layers in ASA hoping that it would make a difference.I read that ASA works great with other programs that have graphics so I am not sure where the issue arises…

I'm on the fence with upgrading. Give me you thoughts on this issue. I am also assuming most like ASA better than ASX, yes, or no?Thanks BunchesNoel

I'm posting this in both the HiFi Sim forum and the Radar Contact forum because I don't know which is causing my problem.I live in Sacramento and every time I try to fly around the Sacramento and Northern California area I get absolutely impossible altimeter settings, below 27.00.I receive the altimeter setting from Radar Contact but as I understand it RC is getting the info from ActiveX. When I press the "B" key to auto-reset the altimeter it tries to reset to the given setting but cannot go below 27.00. I get altimeter settings given as low as 26.78 and even 25.75. This obviously causes problems because I keep getting chewed out by the RC controller for busting my al…

I know that there was a problem with this with the earlier products, but it looks as though it is still with us.At airports like Denver or Salt Lake City, that are situated around 4000 or 5000 feet altitude, when the METAR says there are clouds at 5000 or 6000 feet, the clouds appear to be sitting on the ground. The METAR height means, of course, height above the ground, not above sea level, but it looks as though ASA is interpreting the number as a height above sea level. Is my assumption correct?

I installed Windows 7 64 bit on my pc and it's working great. AS 6.5 on the other hand isn't. I get a error after using it once that requires I uninstall it and re install it for it to work right. I installed it as the with adminstartive rights. I tried " repair" but that doesn't remedy it.The error says: Error accessing internal components (Unencrypt step 4 -Please run the "Repair" option via the ASV6 setup.exe to replace required files.Any ideas?ThanksRichie Walsh

Hi team,Any news about the new service pack ?For me the solving the high altitude cumulus clouds ( 30.000 + ) is at the top of my list.

Hi,Not sure where we are with this...We know there is a problem with ASA interferring/disconnecting the PMDG 747 autopilot in fs9.1, correct? Is it on a list of fixes, or is there not yet enough data for the HiFiSim team to go on? What might I do to help this issue, with regards to reports, etc.? Thanks...- daniel

Using ASA and FS9. I start ASA then the sim. It takes a bit but the weather loads. If I exit the sim and restart and leave ASA running, I cannot get any weather from ASA even if I use the reload button. I need to exit ASA then restart. Is there a way to correct this?Michael

Hi Guys,I know you are probably busily working on the latest Service Pack, but is there any chance you release a quick patch to solve the problem of big layers of Cumulus Cloud at high altitudes.Today I once more had a layer of Cumulus between FL260 and FL310 (and they were not CBs).I know you were supposed to have solved it with the previous SP1, but it obviously did not work.I am hoping that this can't be too difficult to solve, and a patch would be most welcome.ThanksNeil

Hi,There is a big difference in the wx_station_list.txt file (maybe only for non US users) compared to ASV6: In ASV6 you always used the comma "," as the list seperator and the decimal point "." as the decimal seperator. So the wx_station_list.txt under ASV6 looked like this: With ASA you are dynamically downloading this list to the PC but this list make use of the local language settings for the coordinates but not for all values! So look at the difference for ASA: As you are now providing the comma for list seperation AND for the decimal point (at least at the coordinates and maybe only for non US users), 3rd party products using this file (like FSBuild) cannot handle…

Hi everybody,I'm using ASA 433 with FS9.1. In the section Visibility Options I reduced the Minimum Surface Visibility to "0".So far so good. Recently I came across some METARs with Vis=0, Fairbanks encountered these conditions a couple of days before. This spoils the depiction of my VC, at least with Level-D 767. I can't see a thing in my own cockpit...Is there any way to increase the min surf vis without using the "huge" step to 1 mile? Perhaps something like 0.1 nm? I know there is an option within fsuipc, but everyone recommends to leave fsuipc as it is without touching the default settings, especially when it comes to weather cfg.Increasing the vis to 1nm within ASA g…

Hi, yesterday I've noticed that ASX and FSbuild give different values. For example, on a LAX-JFK routes, these are values I got in two wp, given as example (Fsbuild is correctly configurated and loaded after ASX):HIDAT: Fsbuld 280/46, ASX 277/75 (ok for directions, but there are 30 kts of difference)GUP: Fsbuild 337/20, ASX 270/69 (absolutely different)Which is right? Reading from various posts, I've understood that this seems a common problem, but I wasn't able to overcome it. Someone says that Fsbuild is correct, but when flying in FSX is ASX that rules...Thank youMassimiliano Cassol

Hello,I have own your weather products for several years now. I just upgraded to Windows 7 and am reinstalling several flight sim products. My latest version of ASA was an upgrade from 6.5. My question is can download a stand alone version of ASA or do I have to install 6.5 and then upgrade. A stand alone would sure be easier. Thanks,Ken

Wellington in New Zealand is famed for its ghastly winds (look here: ). What settings do I have to choose in ASVv6.5 to have those weather effects in my Sim? The current METAR for NZWN is NZWN 281900Z 20031KT 9999 FEW018 SCT025 08/05 Q1009 WS R16 TEMPO 6000 SHRA RMK KAUKAU 19040KTSo the winds are strong, but it looks in FS as if this was a steady wind rather than the gusts and crosswinds that are typical for Wellington. Thus: what to click, what to uncklick? in ASv6.5? In FSUIPC?

I bought AS6.5 for FS9 a few years ago, since then I have switched to a different weather engine and I'm using FSX (I not going to advertise in your forms of course) I use widefs for fsx, I still have AS6.5 on my machine, I recently started using it again, my intentions were just to use it for getting winds aloft data. I was not expecting it to connect to fsx and load the weather into it. Im not sure why or how this works but it is flawless. I have tested it 10 times, I'll start a flight in a certain location, clear all weather, start widefs, then start AS6.5, my location will appear in the AS6.5, then it loads the weather perfectly into fsx. So why is a product for fs9 w…

I think my answer will be yes, but I better make sure. I am going to migrate to Win7 64bit for FSX on my main PC, but will still be using ASA on my other PC, a 32-bit Win XP home install. ASA will still work across the network? Yes?Randy Jura, KPDX

I have had ASA working from the initial release. I installed Windows 7 tonight and after reinstalling FSX I tried to connect ASA. I get a database write/corruption problem error. I have shared my Appdata folders, My Document fsx folder, my FSX folder and mapped drives to them. I uninstalled ASA and reinstalled with all the updates. Any help would be appreciated.

With the weather radar display in AS 6.5, where is the aircraft position in relation to the display? It seems most likely to be at the bottom centre of the picture, or is it in the centre...?Thanks

Just in stalled ASX again, SP4 over simconnect to main FSX PC. ASX works, the weather is being properly D/L'd and tracked through the flight, but the entire flight, the main ASX window scrolled hundreds of: Exception Received: 14I'm using "real time" for ASX and "system" time for FSX. I've plenty of open ended shares to the main PC FSX machine. The weather seems to be fine, winds aloft are very close to reported. I do notice however that the green update bar on the main ASX screen, disappears. I just reinstalled FSX and ASX, is something corrupt already? Anyway, how do I debug and get rid of the stream of "exceptions?"Randy Jura, KPDX
