I have always used "Real Time" for ASA weather and it's recommended in the manual, but I'm wondering does anyone use "Sim Time" and if so are there any negative impacts to FS?Bobby

Happy New Year!I am using Active Sky Advanced with FS9/FSX and I was sitting at SBCF and ASA reported overcast with light/moderate rain. I saw the overcast clouds but no rain. I am running ASA over WideFS and sometimes if I close ASA and restart it will reproduce correctly. This particular time it did not produce the precip. Any ideas if I have a particular setting wrong?Thanks!

Hi all. I have problem with understanding how the dynamic update works? What are the differences between different settings? Which setting will give the most realistic wx output? some set it to 0% some set it to 100% and others to 50%. Conducting a flight from Singapore to Perth, PMDG Boeing 747.Took off, everything normal then started experiencing strange things half hour out.Aircraft couldnt climb any higher than 29000ft, was starting to stall, i had to descend to 25000ft.Thought that Pitot tubes may have iced up giving me false IAS and altitude readings, nope.It had me stumped.Declared an emergency, headed for WIPP, was descending normally at 8000ft where agl is 36ft, when i looked outside AND THERE WAS TERRA FIRMA ONLY JUST BELOW ME!!!!!!Slammed the throttles to the limit, pulled up, steadied the big girl then said to myself, #####!!!I found the problem, but can you guess as to what the problem was?…

I live in Perth Western Australia and fly out of that airport every week in a jet.At this time of the year Easterlies are prevalent and the turbulence off the hills can be quite eye opening at times. I live at the base of these hills and this morning they were reasonably strong.However ASA doesnt depict this turbulence well. I took off this morning in the sim, and the turbulence was pretty much non-existent.Is there anyway to increase this effect so the turbulence is at least noticeable at low altitude over hills?Running FS9 by the way.Thanks,Andy

Hi,i just purchased and installed ASA and now i'm not sure if it will work together with CumulusX.I'm impressed by the program and it would be great if it would work with CumulusX.For the clouds and sky i plan to use XG but for the water and airports i want to use REX textures. I hope ASA will respect my XG settings to only install XG's cloud and sky textures.Thanks in advance! :)Nils

I have been away from FSX and ASX for awhile. When I stopped both FSX and ASX were working fine in network mode.Configuration:ASX build 1169 and X Graphics build 301 running on Compaq Presario XP PRO FSX Deluxe running on Dell XPS 730 VISTA Ultima 64X Gauge does not power on when I hit the PWR button. Also, I don't see that weather is being downloaded to FSX. I get no errors. I checked the IP address in the simconnect files and they are correct.I start FSX then start ASX. Since I haven't used ASX for awhaile is there some thing I have missed?Thanks in advance.Bill

Jim and others,I know this topic has been beat to death, but I noticed something that I haven't read anywhere. Flying the LD767 out of LAX tonight, I have DWC enabled. As nearly always, the temperature goes from -26 to +45C and we lose power and nearly fall out of the sky. When this happened, I put ASX on the second screenso I can use the sim and make changes while seeing everything. As soon as I uncheck the DWC box, then click "Save and Apply" the temperature goes right back to where it's supposed to be at -26. Check the box, then hit save and apply and it jumps right up to +45....Has anyone else noticed this?

I have a problem in Vilnius with ASA weather. If I switch to other airport weather is fine.But in Vilnius I have a temp of +15C and the standard QNH 1013mb. Wind looks ok, ASA shows the current metar.Tried it several times, always the same.Any ideas?

I know this has been covered before but has there been any progress on sorting out the high altitude cumulus depiction? Hoping you guys can get a hotfix out for this before the next SP as it's shockingly bad to be skimming the tops of an overcast cumulus layer at FL390 :(

Hello,I have an annoying problem using ASX, everytime during landing my plane's speed increases without reason and most of the times I end up out of the runway.This doesn't happen when I dont run ASX.THis does happen with or without using reverse engines.It also happens sometimes during take-off but not that often.I have two versions of simconnect installed cause i also use another addon airjauler which needs the next version of simconnect.My ASX built is 1169.Thanks in advance Jim.

Good evening everybody,After my previous attempt to get ASx to work over my network with FSX on Windows 7 ultimate 64bit.But, instead of trying on my own, I want to use the available knowledge here on the forums.What have I done so far.- installed windows 7, including all drivers, all updates up untill today.- installed Flightsimulator X deluxe version, with acceleration pack.- I made sure that the necessary files are shared over the network and checked it by reading and writing files, using my laptop. Jim, I reported about 2 weeks ago that the LDS 767 was having a hard time, for some reason with DWC enabled... It would throw the TAT to +45 @ above 18000 and essentially fall out of the sky. No matter what, as soon as I enable DWC, this problem happens with the LDS. Now, with he PMDG 747, DWC seems to be working fine, with no trouble on the TAT....... so far.Here is the weird thing, the wind in ASX say that at a given waypoint, it's supposed to be 173/44 and it's actualy 214/49 in the game. Why does this happen?Also, on the briefing page, the averages show 218/10, but there is not one value on any of the waypoints that is less than 35? How could there be an average o…

So all of a sudden about a week ago when I switched the network cable on my machine from one card to another my ASA keeps saying it needs to be activated. I am not sure why this is happening or how to remedy it... It pops up asks for activation I say ok and it says activated. Then randomly it will happen again. Any ideas?Thanks in advance,-P

When selecting the default weather program in FS9, I set the lower visibility at "0" and the upper limit to "30,000" ft. Together with a 30 mile range, I get a very nice blended haze on the horizon. This effect remains so until I pass 30K ft where the ground and horizon textures turns very sharp with unlimited visibility. Not realistic to this eye. So I always fly slightly below whatever I've set for an upper vis limit to maintain the haze. Just a personal preference. When selecting ASv6.5, the upper visibilty limit is pre-programmed (at least on my install) with an upper vis limit max of 15,000 ft. Hi,I haven't been able to connect to the weather server with ASA or ASX for 3 days and was wondering if it was down. I'm guessing the prob is on my end since I haven't seen any mention of this on the forums. If thats the case I'm at a loss since my internet connection has been fine and nothing has changed. I attached a log if that will be of any help, my internet connection was active at the time and i do not have a firewall up.
