I have an ASA version that was upgraded from a previous version, AS6.5 I believe.Do I install ASE over ASA and then enter the ASA license key into ASE?Does it over write ASA, or can we uninstall ASA once ASE has been installed.Bill Clark

Hi I am currently on route to Calgary from the uk using ASE, everything appeared to be ok untill i started passing over iceland when my clouds starting popping on and of, at first they appeared to be well below me but when they reappeared they are now all arround me. I am flying at FL370, the tempreture is not as i thought it would be at this altitude, it is only messuring -18, maybe i have flight sim not configured correctly. The clouds appear to have stabalized now so maybe it was a one off. Thanks. shaun

I seem to have small problem :) When I startup ASE everytime my Metar is not accurate to the time. Then I choose to download Wx and take closest GMT time and voila, gets loaded. After that I turn on automatic downloads and things are back to normal. It this the way it is supposed to be, or something is wrong?BTW - I did a short circle around the airport yesterday... nice... :) good job!

So because nothing is ever enough for us simmers and we always want more I figured I would start the ASE enhancement wish list and pop the cherry LOL...Here is my wish list:1. Suppression button to pause output depiction. This gives the user the ability to pause the depiction mode output for key moments (ie takeoff and landing)2. On the Report tab; a button for Lock to Destination and Lock to Departure the same way we have Lock to Closest today...3. Wind speeds on the map next to the arrows...4. Hi,I've only got one question.I've been using AS6.5 for a while now,but is it worth to upgrade to ASE or ASA ?I'm still using FS9 and will be for a long time.Just wondering what the benefits,if any,are for upgrading.Btw,I like the new red interface :(JP.

I followed instructions to update to ASE from ASA with SP1 and installation completed. Now when starting ASA (with ASE upgrade) my key entry is not recognized. I have checked and checked and can find no error in my key entry.After giving up on ASE, I tried to completely uninstall ASA/ASE from my computer and start over. After the uninstall completed, Active Sky is still there (though probably corrupted) and a reinstall does not work.Now I am completely without Active Sky. What can be done?

I am using both sims. And my ASA is running on my laptop, networked.If I last flew FS9, ASA is gonna be in FS9 mode, and now if I want to fly FSX, I have to switch it.Is there a way to tell ASA which mode to open on boot? Some switch like asa.exe /fsx or so?

I am very new to Active Sky - made the decision to purchase today - the same day that ASE came out, so I don't know if this is a specific bug in Evolution or if I'm missing a setting somewhere.I have some fairly detailed high-altitude IFR flight plans based on actual airline routes - using jet airways, VORs and waypoints/intersections. I generally compose these plans in Simroutes, which allows me to download both a .pln version to FSX and an .rte version to the Level-D 767 FMC. Can the weather I saved under ASA work with ASE?

Couple questions just got ASE, its up and running with simconnect, this was the first time I ever used simconnect, I followed the instructions and had to do some tinkering aswell. The only question about the documentation that I have was editing the registry. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HiFi\ASE\FSXAppDataPaththe above key was not found anywhere in my registry, I had to add that string value myself then put the path to my shared folder. Is that the norm for setting up simconnect, in the docs it said to edit the string value path, not that you had to add the string value itself, all the other ones that needed editing where in the registry. I woke up this morning and like most mornings fired up the pc to check e-mail as i await certain service packs for certain items and what a suprise, an e-mail from you informing me ASE has been released which i knew nothing about, and its a free upgrade to ASA.WOW!!! so i'd like to say thanks as always, your products are always used every single flight and keep up the good work. Greetings all,I seem to be having problems getting FSBuild to work with ASA. Under the FSB options/export directories page, line 30 shows (in each column) "Active sky 6"...."AS6"...."C:\\PROGRAM FILES\HIFI\ASA".......I've started ASA, then built a route on FSB. However, it doesnt seem to be adding the enroute winds. And yes, I do have "apply enroute winds data" checked in the "build oprions" menu. I'm probably missing something simple and obvious. Any ideas?Many thanks

Jim,Many thanks for this excellent surprise!I understand that ASE is a complete product and it repalces ASA. Therefore I guess one should uninstall ASA first and them install ASE, using the registration code used previously for ASA.Please confirm.Many thanks and best regardsEdmundo

I initally had a problem with ASA and Simconnect and decided to carry out the troubleshooting procedure on page 56 of the ASA manual and delete the Simmconnect.dll folders in the Windows\winsxs folder. Now my big mistake, I didn't see the note 'DO NOT DELETE v10.0.60905' :( Now reinstalling FSX will not reinstall the REM simconnect.dllCan anyone offer a solution please, it took me a week the last time I reinstalled the OS (Windows 7 Pro x64).Glen
