Hello to allI have used for over 2 years ASV6.5, a beautyfull tool and a must in all, I mean in all, my virtual flyes superstable product and never never a CTD.The las week find in simmarket the Active Sky Evolution, and I desided buy it, in Simmarket buy the ASE-Full program, but when I instaled I see that it is sloooow progam and I have CTD all the time, in fact I couldnt make a Flight with it.What I saw is that my ASv6 was intact after the instalation, and I dont have ASA, since I pick to buy ASE-full.My cuestion is:Did I purchase wrong?, should I Brought first ASA and make a ASE as and upgrade? If it is the problem for the slow performance and for CTD's, how can fix it…

I've been running FSX for several months now and finally have things set correctly. For some reason, I did not pick up active sky for FSX. Always used it in FS9 but finally purchased ASE tonight and love it. I had been using REX 2 weather engine for the time, but I kept getting inconsistent/outdated winds. ASE is just amazing from what I've seen. The information I can get from the map display and briefing are great and something I missed with REX. METARs are always current, and the smoothing methods for winds and visibility work flawlessly. Weather updates are gradual and I don't even notice them - With REX, the weather would completely clear and rebuild a different envir…

With ASE running and wind present, I am experiencing turning forces due to the wind. This is unrealistic and I have nailed it down to being an ASE problem. Not sure which setting, if any, has the effect on the aircraft with the wind. I originally posted in the FSX forum here: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtop...p;#entry1741221You can read that real quick if I am unclear. Thanks,

Howdy, Been an Active Sky participant since AS2004.5. Just wondering if ASE depict's any bumpy rides through rain and thunderstorms. So far in FSX today flying in the U.S. through the mid-states some rain (no thunderstorm) but smooth as silk all the way through the rain. Thanks, Josh

Hello,I am having a problem when I start ASE. It says Online Activation Problem. 'The license has already been activated on other computers several times.' I only use this program on the client machine via WideFS. I am a registered user.Interestingly, since upgrading to ASE, each time I start the program it has prompted me saying the license has not been activated so I activate it. Tonight I get the above error message. I sent my purchase details to the support e-mail address. Thanks for the help.Kind regards.Jerel

I am an ASX user and apart from the usual little glitches, have been quite happy with it. Not only has ASA been available for a while now, I note that ASE is a further product. I haven't bothered upgrading from ASX to ASA because the problems that users encounter seem to be not that much different from ASX and besides, it's still just a weather program like ASX. Will ASX continue to be supported? I can't help get the feeling that ASX may be getting ignored. For example, your blurb says with regard to ASE.....Active Sky Evolution is the next installment in the Active Sky series, bringing further refinement and accuracy in weather synthesis and depiction, improved smoothing…

Am not sure if this is a problem with ASE or with my settings, but I've noticed that with direct wind control and visibility smoothing selected, weather at interpolated stations doesn't seem to change even when the rest of the weather does. For about five days, Montauk (KMTP) was giving me winds of 293 at 13 gusting 21 and a low overcast, no matter what was going on elsewhere. I was finally able to unstick it by deselecting DWC and visibility smoothing, and selecting automatic updates every 15 minutes. With those settings ASE took much longer to load but weather had changed at all stations. The program is great, by the way - am enjoying it even more than ASA, which is s…

When using the Wx Config, I want to take the visibility on the ground below 1SM. I have tried to put it in as 1/2 and 1/4 but it doesn't seem to read it correctly in FSX. Am I doing something wrong or is this not yet possible within the Wx Config? Thanks,

Could not it always? It is convenient to know when the depiction is complete.

Hello,I've read on another forum that HiFI say they improved the program for accuracy and sensitivity to certain payware aircraft. Does this include Wilco's Tilt Rotor?

I am a little bit confused with ASE aloft winds in comparison to AS 6.5 which I was using. On 6.5 when I was inserting a FP the aloft winds on the FP and the ones on FS9 were very close on direction and strength now on ASE this does not happenFor example on FP from LGAV to EGLL FL360PIKA2J PIKAD UL53 GARTA UV62 YNN UL611 VAKSU UT259 ROTAR UL615 VIC UL613 DIDOR UT420 ALESO BIG3BOn the NAV LOG I have a waypoint ARGAX 175@12 On the Winds aloft by waypoint I have for the same waypoint FL340 103@08 FL390 160@10. On FS9 the actual wind is 247@08What is happening there? The show surface wind Info is unchecked and at FSUIPC all wind options are uncheckedSiable Winds aloft Uncheck…

I am trying to get the most realistic real world weather from ASE, because I use Radar Contact I have selected Direct Wind Control off. Can anyone recommend suitable settings within FSUIPC (registered version 4.60a) to ensure I get smooth Wind, Pressure and Cloud changes without any nasty surprises.I am using ASE on a client computer connected via a lan cable - all seems to be working ok except for some minor wind and cloud smoothing errors which I'm hoping will be sorted with the correct FSUIPC settings. Thanks, Glen

HelloI have noticed that the weather downloads have been getting progressively slower.I use mainly the archive function and this used to be nice and quick, but now it can take ages to get my weather.Last night I could no weather download at all and gave up in exasperation, having to resort to loading some of my own archived weather instead.PS i have tried using the primary server, the secondary and sometimes have selected none at all in attempt to speed up the downloads, but no joy.Any thoughts please.CheersAndy

In the characteristics of ASE, it is written:Quadrangle Distance-Weighted Interpolation TechnologyNew intelligent interpolation fills gaps in weather data more realistically than ever before. The 4 closest data stations in each 90-degree directional quadrant are analyzed and weighted against distance, significantly increasing depiction accuracy in areas with few (or no) reportsWell, what happens if one of those four stations transmits a metar wrong? It is automatically excluded? It is canceled? It creates a conflict with the other stations?

Hello, using ASE with FSX only, I discovered that located at RKSI I get weather from RKSS, which is some miles away from RKSI. I checked the airports.dat, which states the correct loacation for RKSI with "37.463,126.439,23,0.0", but the wx_station_list lists RKSI with "37,517,127,117,0.0", the last depicted on the Report Page from ASE with N37 31' 1'' E127 7' 1'', which is wrong for RKSI, correct should it be N37 27' 48'' E126 26' 24'' (N37.463

I fly the 2008 Maddog in FSX using Active Sky Evolution. On a typical flight, I am decending in vertical speed mode at about -1800 fpm. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, the vertical speed mode will change from -1800 fpm to around +5000 fpm and before I can correct it I will gain about 3000 ft of altitude. I then reset the vertical speed to -1800 fpm and all goes well for awhile, and then the same thing happens again.I tried decending in VNAV, but the problem still occurs. I am using FSUIPC to control the wind, pressure, and temp shifts. I have cloud turbulence, cloud icing, wind turbulence, wind shear, thermals, and downdrafts all set to 0 in ASE. I am not using DW…

Hi,A quick question of how to remove a station from the airports.LGSA is Suda Bay airport KQNC is the american base located in the same airport. Always both metars are giving different meteo conditions, LGSA always current and correct. THis however causes problems on FS. Approaching LGSA the station changes to KQNC. On AS6.5 I could remover the KQNCidentifier from airports file, but couldn't find such a file in ASE. Is there? BRChris

hi all,I wanted to post my frustration with ASE, so what better place, right? :(So here are my downsides:1- While on (station to station mode) the winds aloft never get stronger than 25kts, as soon as i switch to global mode i get real speed for aloft.2- In global mode My VOX ATC don't display any AI traffic and goes nuts with the selection of active runways.3- On departures the winds are always correct, but when i arrive at an airport the winds there (shift+z) is rarely the same as mentioned in the report screen of ASE. And yes i have the rate of change at 0%. when i say different i'm talking about huges differences. So i'm hoping for some corrections soon, as for now it'…

Hi guys,I am currently flying PMDG MD11 between Leipzig in Germany and Hong Kong. Cruising at FL335 (10200m) with M.84. Now suddently by aircraft climbs apx. 3000 feet in a blink of an eye and even after getting down to my cruise alt. I am on the edge of flying too slow and that is with M. 84 which is normally under overspeed.Later I felt some 1000 feet and after getting back on cruise alt. speed was normal.5-10 minutes later I overspeeded with over M 1.0 and the aircraft ended up in some 40.000 feet. The first almost 7 hours went uneventful and I have never experienced anything like this before.Best regardsPeter LundWIN7 + FS9

How do I reconnect ASE to FS9 and refreash the weather once I close and restarted FS9 without restarting ASE?All those refreashing buttons dont seem to do it, or is it possible?

Today, disastrous day.I thought I had solved all my problems by uninstalling and reinstalling all software.Instead, all errors related to the clouds are back.I see that each user has a theory about bugs.Perhaps they are all valid.I know only that ASE is not working well, and that a service pack is needed (if it is possible). Why I can only write with "insert center"?

I always fly on the other side of the world from where I live, so I don't fly at the real time, because I like to fly during daytime. This means that when I use real weather (with ASE), I am often using nighttime weather... right...? Conditions are of course different during the night! Does this mean that to get real daytime weather, I have to use historical weather...? Or is there some sort of time offset option I could use?

After I had a conflict with ASE and a addon I want to try using ASE on a client computer. So I uninstalled ASE on the server and installed it on a client.Server: Windows 7 64, FS9 + FSUIPC and WideFS.Client: Windows XP 32, ASE, WideClient.I start FS9 on the server and WideClient on the client, with status connected. Then I run ASE on the client. I have set the correct FS9 folder from the AppData when started ASE. FS9 main folder and FS9 under AppData is shared with full permissions. But nothing happens to my FS9 weather. I have followed the instructions in the manual, but might have missed something.Thor

fly between 10000 and 15000 feet. What is, in your opinion, the best setup of the surface and upper visibility?
