Hi right now i am using REX2 for textures and then ASX for the weather, its really greatbut is there any advantage in using the rex2 weather with its textures, i mean like as the weather changes the textures updates itself accordingly for the weather, if so is there any way to do the same using ASX, Thanks in advance for any replies!

OK, how do I go about installing this Simconnect thing?I installed FSX fresh, then I installed SDK + from the lib folder the Simconnect client, then SP1 + SP2, ASA is already installed on my notebook running XP32, WideFS installed and connected.Still, ASA reports it can't find Simconnect.What am I doing wrong?

I just built a new computer and have been reinstalling all of my add-ons one at a time to verify proper operation. I have had ASv6.5 installed and functioning fine with fs9.1, fe2004 and tileproxy 8. This evening I networked my new desktop PC (WinXP Pro SP3) with my notebook PC (Vista Home Premium - OEM). I was testing the network install when suddenly both computers lost connection to the internet. I reset my modem and wireless network router which restored my broadband connection. However, I've now discovered that AVv6.5 isn't connecting to the HiFi servers. I dropped my firewall (ZoneAlarm) and still no connection. I restarted my firewall and deleted ASv6.5 from the pr…

Hi!Flying with FS9 and ASV6.5, lately I

I have been experiencing for quite a while now (several weeks) nothing but calm winds at my various destinations in OZ and then throughout Indonesia and the Philippines. In searching the forum for topics which might shed some light, I find there is mention of an upcoming service pack which might address this issue (remember when we called them "problems"?). Is this still the case? I haven't made any changes in my ASA settings in months and when I left the U.S.A in mid-December all was well. In fact, all was well until I hit OZ itself.ASA, FSX, Dell XPS 730.

As I was searching for the best set up, now I found one, and i admit that i finally listened carefully what was advised and... I do get full overcast with no sight of ground thru the clouds and I do get multiple layers :) The only that I am waiting for is the SP for the TAT issue and clouds at 30,000ft however I havent seen much of those in past 2 weeks :)

Hi,I haven't purchased any of the new AS products for FSX. In FS9, I remember flying through clouds was like flying through vertical sheets of paper, and you could still see the ground or blue sky through cloud layers and stuff like that (Doesn't envelope the plane like in real life). So far it seems to be the same in FSX with default weather, I am wondering if ASX or ASA fixes this and gives you the sensation of really flying through clouds, or is this still an impossible feat for FS? Hello,I'm having an interesting problem with ASA that I can't seem to find any info on. I'm hoping it's a setting that I have wrong or something.I start ASA, then I start FSX. I select my airplane (usually PMDG 747 or MD11, sometimes Level D 767) then select airport. Then I press the "Fly now" button.When the sim is done loading it says ASA is starting weather depiction. All is well, wind, temp, clouds, all that is fine. I prepare my plane, pushback go and wait for all that UT2 traffic to take off and land and takeoff myself. Hello again, just a quick question in regards to DWC.Due to my last topic posted here with "stuck" weather, I tried DWC again. Everything seemed to be working well on a flight from RJAA to PHNL today except one thing confuses me. When using DWC it sets FSX to "global" mode, does this have an adverse effect on which runway you get assigned? Or does FSX use surface weather for runway assignment?Just wondering because the wind was 030/11 when I was coming in (at the surface at PHNL) and I was assigned runway 26. Seems odd that it would get me to land with a tailwind. Winds aloft enroute were mostly about 260 to 270 for direction and anywhere from 80 to 130 knots.I use j…

Ok this is not a major problem of any sort, but I thought why not ask. I use AS6.5 and fsx over a widefs connection, things work fine except one small annoyance. In my fsx settings I have the "Rate of weather changes overtime slider" set to 0, (I have been told to leave it at that for 3rd party weather addons) anyways when I start up fsx and AS6.5 connects to fsx for the first time it clears all weather (AS6.5) then starts downloading my weather data. After this it always bumps that rate of weather slider back up if I go and check my settings. Is there a solution for this? As I said its not a big deal but I always have to go back into my settings and change it back to 0, …

Hello all. I'm a long time AS user, but am new to ASA. Here's my issue. I import a fp from fs and look at both dep and dest. Weather. Usually my dep weather is very well depicted in fs. But after flying to my destination, the weather out the window is completely wrong from what ASA is reporting in the breifing window. For instance, on my last flight ASA was calling for low cloud, snow and freezing fog with rvr under 1500. Yet on final approach I could clearly see at least 20 miles with only a few puffy clouds out the window. Winds and alt seem to be correct, but not the vis clouds or precip. Any idea what I've done wrong?Thanks guys.

I have been simming for many years (FS9) and, along with a new computer, I have recently purchased AS6.5. What a wonderful improvement that has made to the overall experience for me. Hi,When I try and download current weather, I get 2kb and then it stops. It says download timeout or corrupt error in ASV6.5. I checked the server status page and it says that the last procedural update was yesterday at 02/13/10 11:11:37Z. Is there something wrong at the moment with the servers?BrynASV6.5 on WinXP 32.

I just noticed as it happended in past 3 flights. No flight plan loaded and the weather is the same in all places... happens in North America, South America and Europe.I guess this means that flight plan has to be loaded... correct?Yet again I will face issues with TAT problem when clouds are reported below ground level...Any ideas?

I am considering getting ASA with REX2. I have an old 3 GHz pentium (3 GB RAM, Windows XP) with an NVIDIA 512MB 7600GT card (AGP bus) - using the approriate tweaks I get decent enough frame rates (usually no worse than 12 or so, often in the 30's). The biggest hit on my system is when I try to get fancy with the built-in FSX weather graphics - detailed clouds just slow things right down, so I stick with simple. My question is this - if the native FSX textures hit my system that hard, should I expect the same kind of performance hits with ASA + REX2? In other words, is ASA + REX a better performance package as well as just a better graphics package than the default FSX…

Just a quick question...I'm going to do some properly long haul flights soon and was just wondering if the ASA "force to real time" option achieves the same effect as running the old "fsrealtime" program to solve the time zone bugs ect seen in fs9?Also for these long flights, should ASA be set to GMT or local time?

I read the topics here and I see lots of complaints but little prase. So I just wanted to drop a line and say thanks. I have had ASA for several months and love it. I got this while flying in Tongass at about 4500 AGL. Until I got ASA I had never seen this effect except as a relatively solid mass. I experienced weather like this in real life and flying over such a realistic representation of it in the sim reminded me of the surreal, other-worldly sensation I had at the time.

Ive just purchased ASv6 for FS9. What have I been missing for the last few years. Ive noticed that when flying PSS 757, with the VC taken out, that my frame rates drop to between 9-11. When I fly the Eurowings BAE146 my rates stay between 18-20. I have the rates fixed in FS at 21. Ive checked the cloud textures for DTX3.I know Im new to this and I need to experiment with the various settings, but has anyone got some advise, or tips.My system is quite old, running a P4 3 hz with 2 gig memory, and a ATI A1950 pro card. hi, i have installed wind 7, during install of asv6.5 the installer is tryin to install netframework 1.1 but an error message reads this program has compatibility issues, check to see if windows can find a solution, but it doesnt. how can i install asv if i cant install netframework 1.1. thanks,jim

Hi,I fly the LDS767 almost exclusively and use FScommander to create my flightplans but when I import them to ASA (build 435) the cruise speed is always set to 120. The rest of the flightplan appears OK so my question is "Is there anywhere I can change to have the aircraft type or cruise speed showing correctly" or is this a bug in ASA?Rog
