Every time I start ASA I get a "Database write/corruption problem" and it tells me to restart ASA.I restart and everything is fine, and the prog works fine, networked.Why doesn

A simple question just to see if I can go somewhere.I have a lot of flights saved in FSX with Weather options as Weather themes/Real-word weather (static)/Real-word weather (updated every 15 minutes)/User-defined weather. Do I have to change those options to run ASA ? Do they interfere with ASA ?

It seems a lot of people are having a good time with ASA. Well, I bought it some days ago and after loosing some nights I'm almost thinking to give up... I've read the hole manual and still can't go beyond MSFS weather engine.

Is there anyway to model aircraft induction/structural icing through ASA? I have been trying to find some good conditions (visible moisture, tempurature below freezing), have my ASA icing sliders at their min and max cloud icing positions, but still haven't seen any of the effects. Anybody know any good settings? I've experimented with REX-2004 and was able to get some good icing flying in the alps.

I have had ASA since it came out. I had ASA 6.5 before that. I'm having incorrect weather depictions with ASA. Here in TPA we have had overcast and heavy rain all morning. Yet when I am a mile out of TPA it just pops to light broken clouds with sun and no rain. I landed at an airport 2 miles from my home and it shows sunny and light clouds while in real life outside it is heavy rain and overcast. This has happened many times at different airports. I look at the local weather on line and then set it up and get something the complete opposite.I am also experiencing the cloud popping issue. I have set up ASA for fs9 per Jims reccomendations. 1. ASA installed on the Client PC2. FSUIPC (full version with smoothing control etc.) installed on FSX PC3. REX is planned to be used only for the initial injection of auto-blended textures, based on the current REX's wx and the route coverage from the flight plan (something that ASX+ASG once used to do before ASA changed it).Could you share your principal settings in ASA that would work for the above use, please?Thanks,Dirk.

Hello.I'm hoping you can answer a quick question for me regarinding the "weather-influenced" setting in the Active Sky Graphics options for ASV 6.5.I had to reinstalled ASV recently due to an entire system redo and now I cannot get the Active Sky Graphics options to remain at the "weather-influenced" setting.Previously I could open up the ASG section and all of the options would be set to "weather-influenced". That's how I had them set. However, now even after submitting the option to FS and clicking close, if I go back to ASG the options do not hold that setting.Can you tell me what I might be missing here?Thanks!

Hi there,Info: Relatively high-end system running ASA (sp1,433) in FS9 with FSUIPC weather settings off. REX cloud textures (not that I guess it matters). ASA visibility settings are: Fog Layer Generation, Disable Haze Layer and Enable Visibility Graduation Smoothing all set to ON. Min vis is 0SM, max surface is 60SM and max upper is 110SM. (FS has max cloud coverage, 3d at 100% and max vis set to 120)I have two problems with the way that I am seeing fog depicted and wonder if I should be changing some settings to get a better result... hi,i'm using asa on my win7 64 system. yesterday is flew from kjfk to lfpg with the superb pmdg 747. however i noticed something strange with my asa. it seemed after a auround 2 hours into the flight my winds seemed to freeze at a specific value. i switched to the window mode (alt+enter) to see what was wrong. as soon as i got into the iwndow mode a text message on asa appeared "fs location change detected..." and it started to download the weather again. this happened from this time frequently throught the flght. wind freezes - window mode - fs location change detected.... being in full window mode, i couldn't even listen to the metar data on 122.02 - only when i switche…

Hi, Today I made my first test flight using the ASA Snapshot :( . This image is using REX2.0 in FSX with weather generate of FSX (Real - ....15 minutes...) :( Now, I Open ASA, I have previous select and install this Snapshot (this was recorded with the same theme of REX previous image) :( Really is a poor image. Where is the cirrus???? (I test use 50% and 100% generation Cirrus in options ASA) and other Clouds????I think is best not to use the ASA Snapshot. Best image is open the REX select and install theme, close REX, open ASA without Snapshot select only weather generation, open FSX. B) Please Help me get better results. What is the problem here???? I select and install a Snapshot. The ASA report "Current Installed Snapshot: xxx".Who restore a default texture (no want use Snapshot)Who Delete this Snapshot but the Delete button not select (it is in use)Thank you

Just a quick question. When you load the flight plan in to ASX and look at the Briefing page, at the bottom, it shows the "Averages" (276/40) Beneath that, it says "Wind Component" and in this case, a -29. What exactly does the -29 refer to?

Hi all - When i start a flight with ASX, i started from an area with a heavy thunderstorm. The problem is that the clouds are not overcast. And when break above the clouds, they are even less dense and i can see the ground from FL310 in a raging thunderstorm.No matter what the weather, i cannot acheive 'total' overcast. Some times if i switch to Spot view, the clouds 'level' to me plane disappear and come back only if i refresh ASX.Can someone please help me? Hi Guys - I have just bought ASA (Build 433).If i select the Enable Direct Wind Control and Smoothing option for FSX, the tool tip says it will also enable Global Weather mode. What is Global Weather mode?Also, what does Disable Winds Aloft mean?Thanks for your help on this.

In any plane, any situation, I stop getting weather updates and the sim reverts to no weather whatsoever a few minutes after takeoff, whenever I get out of hte range of the initial station.I had this problem once before, and it sort of went away, but now it's back. This is using ASA, currently Build 435 with FSX/Simconnect.Things I have tried: * Complete re-install to Windows 7 64 (from xp 64), along with Complete reinstall from scratch of FSX, ASA, everything - wiped the drive * none of that worked. * Tried putting ASA on another computer, and running via SimConnect interface. I am trying to instal AS 6.5 for FS9 on my new Windows 7 system.I have created a seperate partition for Games (Drive D) . FS9 is installed in D/program files (x86)/microsoft games/flight simulator 9/I have downloaded the installer from the Flight1 website to D/ program files (x86)/When I double click on the set-up exe it prompts me to install "dotnetfx"I am unsure if I should go ahead with the "dotnetfx" install, and so cannot get any further. Should I instal dotnetfx ?Peter

Some suggestions for additional options in ASA / future products:* Ability to set max and min cloud height.So those who want a real solid overcast can boost the cloud height, while those who prefer a more natural cloudlook can decrease cloud height. With all the cloud-graphic addons it would be nice to set the cloud height to the optimum for that package. (Am I using the right word? After a while trying, tweeking, complaining, moaning, more tweeking,.................I finally found the post which solved all my problems (thanks to Jim ---- THANK YOU JIM).By changing the Cloud Coverage Density from 8 to 12 in FS9.cfg I have finally achieved OVERCASTIts just a pity that it isn't widely publicised.Maybe you could put it in the FAQ for ASA or in the manual Jim.Thanks again,a happy :-) :( Neil

Hello, I was going through the ASA manual resetting my options inside of FS9 and wanted to find out what are the settings Dynamic Weather. It is located in the "Settings" area, under "Realism and Weather/Weather" labeled 'Rate at which weather changes over time'. It is currently set at Medium. Is that correct or should it be None? I got ASA on client computer with Win XP. I used Win 7 RC on the server running FSX (and FS9). Then both FS9 and FSX worked with ASA.Now I have installed my Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit on the sever computer. Fs9 works fine with WideFS. But I can't get FSX to work through simconnect.I have copied simconnect.xml to its proper location and edited it according to instructions. I suppose I should use the global server configuration entry.I have enabled port=500 in both firewalls and ASA gives no errormessage. Running AItraffic utility gives no messages at all.
