Greetings,Using ASE if I switch between "Wx Config" and "Main" (back and forth multiple times) the "Altitude AGL" begins to decrement into the negative numbers. Any idea what would cause this?

Greetings,When I'm setting cloud layers and click "Parse Metar" it randmonly changes "Thickness" and "Type" for the coulds. As far as I can tell there is only one layer of clouds. The altitude doesn't change at all, just the "Thickness" and "Type". The numbers are random, so it doens't appear to be cycling though any values. Any idea what might cause this?Thanks,-Matt

Greetings,I'm trying to set a IFR minimum base of 2500' for KGEG. Once in hit apply in the "Wx Config" section and click "View Summary" the metar shows a cloud base of 2087'. This is far too low and below ground level. Any idea why something like this happens?Thanks,-Matt

Greetings,I was just wondering if anyone has a working network setup using WideClient, FSUPIC, ASX/ASA/ASE, and FS9.If you do can you tell me how you get it to work? My current setup will set the inital weather that's automatically downloaded when the program starts, but nothing ever gets set after that.Perhaps my operating procedures are flawed? Hi, I used Activesky 6.5 for years, later ASA and now ASE for FS9 and sometimes for FSX...but since ASA I had the same problems with destination wx, dropping clouds and wind changes and and and, described here in lot's of threads. I hoped for a solution with every new version e.g. ASA update, ASE, ASE SP1, but - the problems are still there. I wasted hours of trying this and that, switching off options and on...seems to be not the programm for me. With ASE SP1 for example I can not point during installation to the correct ASE location, have updated ASA with ASE to a differend folder - now I must copy files manually, not the problem but why...is it too difficult to program…

I see alot of people having issues with ASE in FSX so I thought I would share my settings that I've been using since day 1 of ASE to assist the FS community. I use these settings with RC4 and PMDG and other high end payware without any issues.These may not be to your liking but it will hopefully give you a start to getting it to work properly. I use WIN7 64bit, ASE is installed in the PROGRAM FILES directory per default with no issues (not networked). Greetings,I have the option "Automatic Downloads" deselected in the Options menu. However, when ASE loads it still sets the weather in FS9. I don't want ASE to set any weather unitl I tell it to. Is this possible?Thanks,-Matt

Hi all,I'm using ASE with FS9. At the moment if I fly from an area with low visibility to an area where the weather is better so has better visibility, the weather changes in the sim suddenly rather than transitioning to the change. I have just bought the registered version of FSUIPC. Is there any settings here that I can change. I have turned on the visibility smoothing but this doesn't seem to have helped.Also, is there a way that the poor visibility can "be seen" if you are flying into an area with low visibility. At the moment everything looks clear in the distant even though when you get there the visibility suddenly decreases despite it looking clear when approachin…

I upgraded from ASX to ASE some time back. I am running FSX SP2/Acceleration with ASE on the same computer. I set both my lower and upper max visibility to 59 miles. The lower altitude visibility and general weather depiction seems fine however when I climb to higher altitudes the upper visibility suddenly goes to unlimited, ignoring the restriction set in options. I tried setting the upper vis even lower, but still no luck. Any suggestions?RegardsMartin

1. Jim - you have suggested to leave Force Dest Wxr OFF (for both ASA and ASE) - just wondering what the pro/cons are for DEST wxr being on or off given the problems some users (me included) are having trying to resolve intermittent destination weather problems.2. Is it practical / beneficial / reccomended to have BOTH wind smoothing set up in registered FSUIPC *and* to have DWC turned ON in ASA or ASE...or will this cause problems? I read that DWC provides smoothing...does that mean FSUPIC smoothing will be applied *in addition to* the DWC smoothing or does only one of the smoothing functions take priority? HiI must say FS is totally un-flyable now because of the sudden temp changes in ASE.Please refer to the screenshots. I have disabled Fog layer generation, which I personally think made it worse. Jim. I do not hv ASE's FSUIPC Module. hv my own in there & it's registered.Wind smoothing /turbulance is disabled though. I cannot use DWC as it is not in there. Also...Pireps. Superb product except for the problem stated in the title.DWC exhibits very strange behaviors in RC like button presses not being recognized for minutes and/or the product completely stalling between controller/approach/tower/etc. changes.I tried ticking off the "give ASE high priority box" suspecting it was robbing RC of its priority but no joy. The problems seems directly tied to DWC.I have searched through the forums and a good number of people had the same problems in previous versions of Active Sky which they later state was solved with a patch.Is there any patch in question for ASE and would it take care of the RC issue?Any help would b…

FYI, I have a problem creating a new flight plan in ASE when another flight plan is currently active. The current flight plan navagation log covers the window that pops up for the new flight plan entry. At this point there is no place to click with the mouse to get out of the situation and I must use Task Manager to shut down the hidden window. The solution is to move the ASE window down on the screen before clicking on the Change Flight Plan button so the pop up window is not covered.I find that the only way to display the destination Metar report on the in-flight weather radar is to have the flight plan entered in ASE. Hi there,This happens so, so often, and I have put up with it, but it does rather spoil things and I wondered if anyone (Jim?) has any ideas.Before starting FS9 I start up AS6.5 and in offline mode I load one of my many downloaded wx files. As usual, the final description in the 'decoded' window of AS6 bears little relation to what I see in FS9, but I gave up worrying about that ages ago (no amount of troubleshooting ever helped).What is rather annoying is demonstrated by these screenshots. I have a quick question,Is it possible to turn DWC off inflight? I have two issues right now that I'm trying to remedy.The first one is every flight goes great until arrival. That's when I get assigned runways with tailwinds. I am using DWC and I am pressing the Refresh AI button. I am also loading my flight plan and have force destination wx checked. Still getting assigned the wrong runways. Today landing at KORD it was 180 degrees off of where it should be and I had AI landing on the opposite end... Hi,ASE works perfectly so far, a fact for which I'd like to thank developers and tech-support.One strange thing - I'm always having one layer of puffy clouds at FL350 regardless of the weather. Jim,Sorry if a thread already exists, but I didn't see one. I'm using ASE, and it appears the temperature shift aloft issues still exist. This time I'm using Concorde...all was going well until we went from ~ -50 to +15 in the blink of an eye. I tried to catch all the detail I could. Hopefully this helps. Thanks!
