I have P3D installed in C:\Prepar3D rather than in the default folder. There are too many permission errors if I put it in the default folder. The problem is that ASN can't connect with P3D since it is looking only in the default folder C:\Program Files(X86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D. Is there any way to make FSN look for the folder where I have P3D loaded?

Hello, I've read many times that loading a flight plan in ActiveSky will improve the accuracy of the depiction. Is this really the case? I'm wondering what is happening in the background to improve the depiction? It's sound like, to me at least, that the accuracy is better when I load a flight plan than without it.

Hi everyone. I am new to some of these addons such as Active Sky 2012, and I would like to know exactly what his XGauge is. Is it a custom gauge that has to be installed in the aircraft panel? If so, won't that disfigure a beautiful plane like PMDG's 737 NGX for example. Does this XGauge take up an area on the aircraft panel where another gauge should be? And finally is it absolutely necessary to install this XGauge in order to have Active Sky work? For me that would prevent me from buying Active sky if this is the case. Thank you all in advance.

Hi all- Does networking AS16 to a separate PC yield a noticeable performance increase? Also, server/client OSes need to be the same, that is, Win10/Win10 or can there be a release difference such as Win10/Win7? Thanks in advance, Mark

I'm relatively new to the product but I'm wondering what is going on. I Was flying over the Netherlands tonight and got hit with huge amounts of towering cumulus cells near AMS... This doesn't seem right at all. I looked up Netherlands weather and there are no T-Storms just wind warnings. I don't think massive t-storms are usual in that location at this time of the year. I use AS16 + ASCA with P3D and FSlabs A320..

Hi all I had to do a new installation of Active Sky Next on my new computer on FSX Steam Edition. I can get the program to install. But when I try to enter my activation code, it refuses to accept it. I don't get an error message or anything like that. I enter the code and click on enter and it does nothing. Just a quick blink of the window. Any ideas how to activate my copy of ASN on Steam? Thanks

After installing the latest AS16 hotfix, when starting FSX before the main FSX selection screen appears an error pops up along the lines of "GPS failed, may not be able to load flightplan". Not sure if this is related to AS16 but was the only thing that I updated? Any clues? Stuart

Hello guys, I recently reinstalled Windows and had to install my sim again, including AS16. I can't remember if I change any setting in AS16 before, but now I'm running on default settings included. For some reason my aircraft is handling weird on both departure and on cruise. It feels like it is the biggest storm that just hit me. I'm running live weather, and It says that the weather is perfect. Even on cruise the aircrafts handles like with heavy turbulence like seen in the GIF. It's not that bad on cruise, but on depaure it's even hard to keep the airplane in the air. I've tried both the PMDG 747 v3 and FSLABS A320, and get same problem with both, so it must be s…

Hello! As per the title, I am thinking about setting up AS16 on my laptop so it can feed weather data to my sim-rig. Is there any (big) performance gains in doing this?

I can get the weather report 122.00 etc on VHF1 but not on VHF 2, i'm using the 737NGX. I have selected MIC selector on VHF 2 but nothing?

This is a long story but i think worth repeating. I had versions of AS 16 up to version 6157 with zero problems on P3D version 3.4. When I updated to 6239, I immediately had FPS that varied the longer I flew, and also stutter which got worse on approach. I found out that if I shut down AS 16 and quickly restarted it, , then the erratic FPS and stutters went away for awhile gradually returning as I flew . I reinstalled the update to 6239, same problem. Then I went back to 6157, problem went away. Update again to 6239, problem immediately came back . Then I completely uninstalled AS16 and downloaded the new installer for version 6239 and installed it. For awhile it was …

Hello there, I realized there would not be any wind gusts when flying my FSX Steam Edition and using AS16. I installed SP1 and my version now shows 6239. Unfortunately, although the conditions tab would show significant (>15) wind gusts for my current location in FSX, the sim itself would only show a wind speed varying by 1kt. I checked the debug window and it would show the correct wind direction but the speed also varied by 1kt only. I used live weather for Feb13th, 2017 in the New York area, with my FSL A320 positioned in EWR. Does anyone have an idea, how to receive correct gusts? Thanks for your help, Jan

Hello, I have a pretty strange problem with ActiveSky16, im pretty sure its whats causing this. When im on ground level there is some kind of grey fog blocking the sun and it gets very tiny. This happens only at Dawn and Dusk. have as2016, rex essentials with overdrive, rex world airports hd, asca and rex wx Advantage Radar are all compatible? are ok to use together? if so any suggested start up procedure? would be using with p3dv3. Sorry if I did not post in correct place.

Hello dev team, you did an awesome job so far, but not with latest build 5921... I have stable 51 fps before updating to 5921. I have 25 fps lost with thunderstorm, rain, fog and some clouds, never had fps drops before build 5921! On ground 51 fps with heavy weather, when looking at clouds in wingview or vc 25 fps loss, that can't be, seriously. No fps hit before update in same weather, scenery, addons whatever, I tested it. Hi All, after the latest update( build 6239 I believe) in FSX the cloud motion effect never displays even if I am in cloud conditions that should trigger it. Come to think of it I haven't seen the slightest bit of turbulence either, even in windy conditions.Prior to this update I saw the motion effect whenever I entered clouds. Is there any way to roll back to the previous build?. Dummy me forgot to save the last update separate from the new one.I'm in the process of removing and reinstalling so, I'll report back. Stan

Hey folks, So I have also experienced situations where my FPS went down from 30 to 20 fps and I thought it has to be AS16 and/or ASCA. And then in the same situation (same airport, time, weather, etc...) I just reloaded the ASCA theme (in my case Full Dynamics). No need to activate another theme first, just activate it again my clicking it. I've done this three times already and my FPS went back up to where it supposed to be. I just thought it might be worth a try for others who experience this. Sorry if this has been brought up already. Cheers, Amadeo

I bought Active Sky Next, and was interested in upgrading to AS16, but $41 for an upgrade is very expensive. :( I'm curious about what the main differences between the 2 are? I've downloaded the trial but can't really tell a difference asides from the new UI.

Good day. I have recently upgraded to Active Sky 2016 and have noticed that I cannot get weather requests via the PMDG 777 FMC. i have checked all the folder paths in Active Sky. I use ProATC X and have updated the weather folder path to AS 2016. Do we need to point PMDG to the correct folder somehow? I've been through the manuals and cannot remember how I got it functional with the previous version. I haven't changed any settings in the FMC..still the previous setting I had with ASN. Any ideas would be welcome.

Somehow I think I ticked on a button that screwed me up. ASN is working perfectly, but when I come out of the flight sim, it stays active (along with Active Cloud) ... I have to go to task manager to shut it down each night. I no longer shows in the tray (which I think was a setting) ... how do I get back to the settings to make it show again and shut down when P3D shuts down? Doug

Hi - I posted this also on the Hifi boards but I have updated to the latest P3D hotfix and also have all the latest builds of AS16/ASCA. I even uninstalled/reinstalled ASCA this morning just to make sure! The problem is that when the WX and textures are injected into P3D, my sun disappears. I have made sure there are no visibility or clouds that might be obstructing it. I have run time preview and slewed to high altitudes and no sun can be found! I was using ENVTEX but I restored my original textures and the issue still exists. It only happens when AS16/ASCA are running. Thanks for any help! Eric
