Fellas. Got AS16 and think the graphics are excellent. However, I'm running into an issue while on approach. I'll frequently get these odd gusts, all the way down to the ground, that will push the PMDG 737 right significantly. To the point where I'm off set the runway about 30 degrees. Even full aileron deflection won't stop the gust from taking over. Happens in good weather and bad. Calm winds and hug. I have fsuipc and have sliders all down to 10 or lower and still nothing. Anyone else have this issue? Love the weather upgrades but kind of uselsss if it ruins the landing. Thanks. Brad

I was enjoying an evening flight with AS2016 and ASCA when i decided to mess around with AS2016 and find some live challenging weather conditions from different airports and stumbled on 1. Sydney airport metar indicated some powerful gusts and moderate turbulence below 5000 ft. I wanted to try out this approach later on so i tried looking for an option to save the metar within AS2016 so i could fly it later on but couldn't find such an option and had to save the metar elsewhere .Which brings me to my question is such an option available in AS2016 to save a specific metar within the weather engine or is something developers at HI-FI may consider implementing in the future…

Hi all, yesterday I uninstalled REX+SC to try AS2016+ASCA only. After this I have no more clouds in every weather situation, just ASCA sky colors and visibility and precipitation injected by AS2016. I tried reinstalling REX+SC but still no clouds in the sky, even if I load a P3D weather preset. What can I do?

I'm running FSX:Steam in windows 10 64-bit. I have AS16 + ASCA. I just bought the Areosoft A320 A321 plane. I installed the xgauge via the AS xgauge install menu. When I started the airbus I couldn't open the guage with the n key, and with the panel view menu, it only showed a square where it sould be. I even manually installed it into windows=3 which airbus has a number of the windows= that are free. But even doing that F4 only opened the black square. All my other planes work fine. At the AES forums others have asked them about the same thing. They must have some kind of panel setup. I still have the weather but no guage. Does any one know how to get it to wo…

I just installed Active Sky 2016 after using the trial version a few weeks ago. But whenever I use it, my audio cuts out for 2-5 seconds with a crackling noise. It cuts my entire systems audio instead of only P3D's. It was happening when I had the trial version but when my trial ended and I just used the regular weather that came with P3D, the problem went away. Now that I installed the full version of AS16, the problem persists. I don't know if it's a CFG file error or something else but I am very puzzled by it. Hello, I have Active sky Next and I am using it since May, without any problems. However, I tried to start it this morning, I got the splash screen (with the thunderstorm noise in the background) but the menu did not appear. 2 minutes later, the start menu finally came up. I reinstalled ASN 3 times, I still have this problem. Any ideas of what's happening? Before, I used to get the Welcome page (start menu) as soon as the splash screen would dissapear... Thanks!

Hi Folks, Currently and ASN/REX user - on the fence about AS16/ASCA... Anyone routinely doing hard IFR flights - looking for comparisons - am I going to be over or under whelmed ? Since AS6 came out - I've always preferred the lowest resolution clouds because they always seemed the softest and most realistic looking - hah - long before REX Soft Clouds came along... Does ASCA have a low resolution texture set that might satisfy my needs... Like many - I'm just trying to ascertain whether AS16 is worth the expense... Thaniks... Regards, Scott

Runing ASCA+AS16 on my comp and it looks like images inserted bellow when runing FSX:SE. System: GTX 1070, i7 6700k turbo 4.2GhZ, DDR4 32Gb RAM. Have no issues when running ASCA+AS16 on P3D. Any thoughts?

I know the heading doesnt say much, but at least if you are reading this then it attracted you. Last night i did a online flight from FALE (King Shaka Intl) to FAOR(Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) South Africa, well i have a normal setup nothing spectacular at all, i do have the latest version of AS16 and this is my pretty main reason for this topic. I installed the open beta for both as2016 and asca and now I get low fps.(single digits).It must be something to do with the clouds .no clouds no problem but if there are a few clouds in the sky fps go through the floor. i tried shutting down as2016 and firing opus and all was good even with tons of clouds. The minute as2016 runs fps suck. Mind you before the update all was good with asca and as2016.I did not touch any slider nothing.Just installed the open beta on top of the older version Any of you experienced this ? Thanks.

Hello Did the upgrade to AS16 P3D yesterday, and installed the update. First: Thanks for the update, the interface looks much nicer. Cloud coverage and layering is better. (I will bold my questions/concerns if you don't mind) Browsed all menus and only unchecked the show messages boxes, all else set to default. Made sure it was set to use live weather. (Local time was 16:45). Cloudy, but beautiful weather. Loaded the Carenadeo Aero Commander with the GTN750 (Full FP, the long way, via A312 ) Since the new AS16 is Navigraph aware I tried to make a FP ( TFFF-TIST) using Airways, but didn't see that option, and could not find a way to insert Airways. Hi, I'm getting circular radar returns on the NGX with AS16 and ASCA. Radar is set to auto, distance set to 90 on P3D v3 and AS16. Has anyone seen this? Ideas? Thanks, Doug

Hi all, AS16/ASCA is on sale and I'm ponderig getting it. I use ASN+Rex right now. It's a pretty penny for upgrade so I have to be wise. What are your thoughs these days? Air movement (turbulence) any improvement? How do ASCA clouds look? How's performance with/without ASCA? Thanks!

Hi everyone, today i was flying EGLL - KMIA in the pmdg 777 and it was my first time using AS16 and ASCA. i was getting around 25fps at aerosoft heathrow and it was overcast. But as soon as i got near the clouds i was getting 5 - 10fps for the rest of the flight. I must admit it was very cloudy the whole flight but wasn't expecting to get that low frame rate. my specs are: i5 6600k 3.2-3.9 ghz 8gb ram radeon rx460 4gb. i'm only using 4 cloud layers with maximum coverage ( i tried high but no differnece) and 90 miles distance. (i also tried 60 miles but no difference) does anyone know how to improve this? thanks, Dylan

I have been using ASN, Rex Essentials plus and soft clouds in P3D v3.1, for a considerable time ,quite happily, but, I would appreciate comments on the new Hi Fi software. Is it really a game changer?.

Hi, This may be a silly question but I have been running AS16 fine now for a couple of months using REX4 Texture direct, however I have now bought & installed ASCA & get the message on FSX launch "The weather theme could not be loaded. Please check that this file exists and try again." I read an article that if you disable all cloud art in REX & just have ground/lighting effects enabled, it should work fine - which I have done. My entire FSX/P3D + all scenery I have running on a dedicated 1TB SSD (aptly named my X drive) & have had no issues whatsoever. Am I missing something here? Since I installed SP 5 (build 6107) my voice ATIS & Flightwatch has ceased to work. P3Dv 2.5 I've done a couple of searches but everything that comes up is quite old (2012-13). Any help would be appreciated.

Several members of our Flight sim club in Holland recently upgraded from ASN to AS16. It works well, 'but'... it won't work offline; when we try it, it indicates it needs an Internet connection (possibly for checking licences), and after this message is stops working. Normally this isn't a problem, but offline is what we need when we give our demo's at the FSWeekend in the Aviodrome in Lelystad at the beginning of November (the museum doesn't have public Internet).
