Is anyone else getting a weird haze effect with AS16? Ive tried turning off default haze layer but everytime I restart Active sky its unticked again. The effect gets worse the higher I climb it seems.

Hey guys, i have a small problem with ASCA and FSX: I use the theme "Global Automatic" to get the best variety into my simulator. It makes my Sim look so much better and I really like it. But everytime ASCA updates my theme i get some small lag spikes which, when i'm in cruise, are no problem at all. But when i'm on Final and the program decides it would be a good idea to update, this could lead to some small problems. Even though these lags only last for about 20 seconds. So my idea would be to add an option to the program, like in Active Sky, to prevent updates on approach. Please tell me your opinion to this and most important: Tell me if i missed something.…

Hi Just a stupid question maybe, but I take off in FSX without really checking destination weather, although i have the flight plan in AS16. So along the route i tune in 122.02 and get a 900 ft overcast. So I program the GTN 750 for another airport where i think weather may be better and hit direct to. So without stopping the sim, how can i get the weather at the new intended destination? I look at add-ons and there are some AS16 options but not one for the new airport. Anyone have an idea?? [ps. I know that my primary flight instructor would kill me for planning a flight to 900' overcast!!] cheers Lennie

Has anyone encountered an issue with the xguage when trying to expand it? Specifically, when I undock the gauge, and try to expand its size, a persistent blue circle takes the place of the mouse. It remains spinning until I close the sim. I suspect FSX is having problems drawing the gauge to meet the new size.

Hi I bought and installed both of them yesterday but I have had two problems: 1 - There is no weather depiction in Xgauge in WX mode 2 - FSX crashes on exit after using AS16 + ASCA, It crashes after asking " Are you sure you want to exit Flight Simulator?" Any idea?

Hello, Just wondering if any of you are also having trouble depicting hurricanes using AS16? I have the option selected to depict hurricanes but to no avail. All other features work fine, just can't find hurricanes. Thank you, David Russell

Hi, After an installation and configuration according to the HiFi manual, I have a problem in making a network connection between PD3.4 and AS16. So I tried to bring up the simconnect console by setting the console line in the simconnect.ini from 0 to 1, but the console does not show when starting up P3D. Does anyone know what this might indicate? Marcel

Hi, I was wondering if you had any luck adding weather stations in ASN. There's a new one in my "home" area in the sim (K0S9 at 0S9 Jefferson County Intl.), and I tried to add it using Tools > Edit station database, but I can't make it work. I'm able to enter the ID, name and coordinates in the initial dialog, then add elevation in the list. After I click Save, ASN restarts, and the new station disappears from the list. Am I doing something wrong, or is there an issue with this functionality? Thanks in advance for your comments. Tym

Message from Client Computer. Error Installing ASConnect Module ASN was not able to install/modify the ASConnect module. Please manually install ASConnect into your Simulator. See user Guide for more information. This is P3d ver 3. I copied the module to P3d folder on the server. Still receive the same message. The weather loads into ASN on the client. With Sim connection waiting on simulator message What am I missing. Thanks to all who reply. Bill

Hi, i just got a checkerboard cloud pattern in a kind of overcast sitiuation. The "repreating overcast texture pattern fix" was on, maximum cloud layser at "5". What can i do? thanks!

Hi Everyone, I'm currently using SimBrief to put together my dispatches for my flights and reall am digging the system. However, I'm also using Rex Essentials for my weather, and it just seems there's a total disconnect between the two. I think the culprit is Rex Essentials. Right now in the background I'm flying over northern Wisconsin and there were thunderstorms to my north, and when I check real time actual radar, it's crystal clear. My winds aloft are nowhere close to what SimBrief told me to expect to. METARs on the other hand are pretty much spot on. So that brings me to my question: if I were to upgrade to ASN (through Steam) or AS16, am I going to se…

I tried to post this over to the HiFi support, but it seems to be down. Last two flights - one in the Citation X and one in the LJ24b I have seen mid-flight FL370-FL410 air temperatures at stupidly high levels, +33 deg C and above - noticed when my speed dropped and engine warnings came on. Both times flying with custom weather, although based on RW weather (the area where the temps were high would have been taken off "live" weather). This was actually one of the reasons why I went to Active Sky in the first place, since many years ago on my old machine this is what used to happen with MS weather. Any help appreciated, Regards, G

trying out the demo of AS16, and its great, but im having vis issues. it seems to default most weather conditions to quite hazy in the distance. also when forced to 200vis with custom wx get a white band on the horizon, this is with 200 for both max vis settings. anything i can do to remove this? and is the lowish vis with 'real' weather (not pictured) normal? cheers!

I am running AS16 on another PC.. I already have ASConnect confg set up for server/client relationship since ASN talks to my server PC running P3D So how do I tell AS16 not to look for a P3D machine in that PC instead use the simconnect instead? BTW..there is a local copy of the P3D in that second machine..so when I installed the AS16 it used the local P3D folder. Now, how do I redirect it to not wait for the local P3D? "Simulator installation folder" shows the local P3D location. That should be blank or something

Hi Everyone, I finally got Active Sky 2016 & Active Sky Cloud Art installed in my flight simulator which runs FSX. I uninstalled Rex Soft Clouds and was curious to what I should de-check in REX 4? I de-checked all the clouds textures high/low, lighting, weather architect and the sky effects textures....is there anything else I should turn off? Thanks, Sam

hi, do i have to install the HD content ? or only the ASCAR .exe . i was not sure so i installed everything now it looks like i have HD texture on the ground too , is that normal? can i uninstall the HD content if i wish or would that be a problem? henry

Hi, when I set ASN to manual wx, which is the way pls to let ASN cover f.i. all Europe ? If I download the wx, then I switch off the internet line, I would like to have the just downloaded wx all over all the Europe. It seems to me I can't because if I chose a station ,f.i. LSZK I can see the correct actual wx over LSZK and then I click " apply to range 100 " but in this case I assume I have to do that for each other station manually ? Then, I will have spots of 100nm radius with the correct wx but if I would like to have the real wx all over Europe and not only over spots of 100nm for each LSZH, LOWW therefore each station etc? with ASN, I used to leave the ASN up and running and forget about it. I can leave P3D and come back and the ASN used to automatically connect to the sim and know the location of the aircraft. With AS16 (I am using the demo) I have to reload the AS16 everytime I load P3D. I had a CTD on my sim... so I reloaded the P3D and went to a new location and AS16 says, waiting for Simulator? Now I have to exit AS16 and reload AS16 again. IS this the expected behavior? .

Issue I had was they don't seem to play well together.. I installed AS16 (Demo) first and everything was working fine I then installed ASN and it too wanted to install ASConnect which it did and ASN worked fine. But when exited ASN and loaded AS16, it now wants to install AS Connect of its own... and it and when I said no, it connected to my sim and I can see the weather but in 2 minutes it exits

I unchecked this box to see what the difference was, but when checking the box again and checking my settings I find that the box stays unchecked. If you disable the default haze layer in AS16, does this mean you also have to turn off Volumetric fog in P3D as well? I'm doing some VFR flying and notice that AS16 is reporting my current weather around my aircraft as being clear, but there's so much haze and I'm not sure what's going on.
