Hello Everybody,I just wanted to add this small post to warn people who buy real aircreaft parts.I myself work as a line maintenance mechanic and see people in here get real aircraft parts that they probably sand and repaint the warning is in the sanding part. The primer used in aircraft is extremly hazardes and we had this warning at work and even got special equipment for this job.So for what it is worth just thought to let u all know.regards,Nihad

*** Sorry, this is offtopic, it's just related to aviation.. so move on if you are not interested. ***Things seem to get ugly again, the city of Helsinki seems to have decided against the will of most of the city inhabitants (nearly 60% in a recent survey) to pull the rug under the feet of majority of Finland's professional flight training, a lot of aviation clubs, and more than 200 jobs, to build a suburb on top of a piece of land once determined as "unsuitable for housing", thus set aside for the airfield. The Helsinki-Malmi airport, only general aviation field within reasonable distance from Helsinki, is under threat. This would very likely kill most of the "IRL" part …

Hi all,I have downloaded FSbus PCB layouts. These have the components drawnon them as well.Won't this interfere with the etching?Causing shorts.I have not found any other layouts.Any ideas.Flyinghigh. :-)

I thought I would spend some time trying to get things going with CCC and this is my current one. It's used for my bae to start the engines, not everything is there, and I'm not sure it's 100% correct, but it's certainly a better option than dummy switches.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/101116.gif

Hi! I'm ready to start making my throttle for my Beech 1900 sim but I don't know much about potentiometers. :( Does anyone know what I should use? How much resistance? If it turns more than the throttle itself does is that ok?Thanks

I am at the point with my T-38 simulator to start building the cockpit shell itself. I have started thinking about the instrument panel. Ideally, I would love to have real simulated instruments, either build them the way Mike Powell does or use Simkits. Simkits will cost a small fortune. They want almost $400 for the two engine CCU and the T-38 has 12 engine gauges alone, not counting the primary and secondary flight gauges. Besides, the ADI and HIS are 5

Hi all, this is my first time here :) I stumbeld over this forum on my search for answers to my quistions. I have build my own joystick becouse i got fed up with the poor quality of almost allmass produced joystick. My initial idea was to use and old joystick and use the PCB from that, wiring it up to my own 100k quality Potentiometers. But i have to use 2 joysticks to get enough axes and buttons. But now i has seen the Mjoy project, looks really nice and fairly simpel. But i have some qustions that i couldent find answers to, and i was thinking that in here there must be peopel who has buildt it and have experince in th Mjoy. Q: How about "jittering" or electric noise ? …

I know, do a search through the forum.I have done and cannot find the actual dimentions of the MCP face panel of the Boeing 777.Can someone who's building a 777 pit help me with this?Or, if not, has someone got a good source? The Wiki doesn't have it, either does Meriweather, nor Project 777. Any other suggestions?ThanksDavid

Hi,Do you probably remember my attempts to get a force feedback feel on my column using an heavy 12 VCC screenwiper motor.I took a very long time to get from Australia the electronics ( surface post, means by sea) able to transform the motor into an heavy servo. Finally I could test it using the servocontroller of my IOCARD.It is interesting but from far the "good" solution. Major weak point is the overheating of all component and finally the weak Torque which does not simulate the heavy forces induced by a flight. After that experiment I am convinced that the "good" solution consist of using an AC brushless high torque motor able to stay stalled for a longer time without …

Hi guys, I have a problem with FSBUS, when start the Router all OK. When I start FS9 after the Router appear one string like this: "......... I see also that values SPD, HDG, ALT and VS change without that I touch nothing every 10 or 20 seconds with or without FS9 connected. Someone can tell me where is the problem? Thanks Roberto "MD80 home cockpit builder"

Ok, Thought I would work on a system to get the PM FD to work using ccc (read all my switch positions are full and don't have another board made yet.)I've set up the following, with a toggle but it doesn't work - it keeps turning off, regardless, and sometimes it goes up but not sure why it's not working.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/100663.jpg

Hi all,Looking for some advice really. I was hoping to build a basic cockpit using 3 PC's and 4 TFT's with MDF!! Good start!!Well basically I was hoping to use the PMDG with PM and using GoFlight modules. I believe this is not possible. What I thought I could do to was use the PMDG dynamics and use put a basic default panel into it (which would not matter as won't see the panel) and on the PC running FS just press the w key to clear the panel. I will do this as will have the screens in front of me running PM etc.Which is the best way to set the PC's up and what to run on each of the screens?!! I am just a beginner so any help is appreciated! However how could I set it up s…

I had another thought for a force feedback yoke....Wrap wire around the shaft of the yoke, to make an electromagnet. Slide it into a tube, around which you wrap more wire to make that an electromagnet too. Connect them in series in such a way that their polarities are opposite. When both coils are energized the magnetism will center the inner coil inside the outer one. Drive the voltage to the coils from the output to the ASI, in such a manner that at at 0 knots there is nothing, and the yoke can flop around with no force at all, while at 200 knots or whatever the voltage is at maximum and you really need to pull hard to move the yoke more than just a little bit. A bell c…

Is there anywhere I can find C-119 Boxcar Cockpit drawings and photos. Mostly drawings. I've been thinking of the manual that's available for the C-119 (both on CD and in reprint form). I know it's a fairly large cockpit (nearly C-130 size). I've looked everywhere for info on this bit of antique aircraft (1953). For a plane that has played such a big role in many different duties it's a bit of recluse. In Canada there are at my last look only the nose of one at the Aviation Museum Ottawa. I am concidering a trip there for research but if I can find info else where it would be a great help.Any help would be very appreciated. No doubt about it...Ronson2k

Hello everybody,Luciano Napolitano has releasedKey2Lan.A utility which converts keypresses on the Fs pc into mouseclicks or keypresses on a specific client pc.As Team member from Wideview and Magenta I also use the Aerosoft hardware. When operating the Upper Eicas always both the upper and lower eicas panel changed. Now I can assign a button to a keypress on the FS and add an ID to it.On the client that I want to response I assign that keypress+ID to a keypress or mouseclick.Because I have assigned all buttons to my Magenta lower eicas pc, the image on the upper eicas stays the same.To take it one step further I also use Robert Prathers lower eicas software. The eicas images…

Hi Guys,Just to let those know who use FSLCD that a new version is out.I asked Timo if it was possible to have Autostart. He replied with thefeature added within 24hours.So those who want this to start when FS starts just use FSautostart from Ken Salter. Here is the link http://mikkila.wabbits.org/fsbus Just to update those that maynot be aware and use multiple PCs {networked} and many keyboards/mice.The above program allows one to access any pc with the one keyboard/mouse.I use it and it sure beats multiple keyboards.Les

Ok, Having a few problems (and you're all surprised right).Ok, I saw someone had posted their fsif.ini and I was trying to get the 4 fuel pumps to workThis is what the person had for 2 engine pumps1, "left fuel pump",54,0,0x3125,BIT,1,RW,50,1,11, "right fuel pump",55,0,0x3125,BIT,2,RW,50,1,1I need 4 and the offset 3125 is the same as I needhere is the info on 3125FS2000/FS2002 only: separate switches for up to 4 Fuel Pumps (one for each engine). Bit 2^0=Pump1, 2^1=Pump2, 2^2=Pump3, 2^4=Pump4. (see also offset 3104)So how do I set all 4 up?
