Hi,Was just wondering. Anyone using FSBUS hardware got the Dreamfleet 727?Does it work with the FSBUS hardware/software? Or do we have another great a/c that we can't use?! Mainly concerned about the autopilot of course.I'd love to know before I buy it, otherwise I'll save until the first 'good' a/c that DOES have hardware support comes out. Yeah, I know, it could take long, but hope dies last. :-)Cheers,George DorkofikisAthens, Greece

I am familiar with how to take pictures and attach them to the files I want to send over the internet. The problem that I am having is keeping them small enough to post here. How does one stay within the 125 kb limit when sending an attachment? I have a couple of pictures I would like to post for comment. Please help with any instructions or ways of doing this. Milt

Seems I'll have to break up my sim in some time.Thing is my sim is now inside the house that my parents rent and the owners plan to sell it by mid-sumer 2006. I am quite sure that my parents will buy or rent a house that will be much smaler than the one we got now (is relatively cheap to rent compared to its size) so I don't know what my sim will look like by 2006. Will it look like a few big boxes or like a sim ... who knows!Either way this should not mean the end of my project. However it might be a good time to lay down the tools and start planing the beak-up. I can still work on the interfaces etc. Then maybe I will be able to re-build it in a good few years and do…

Does anyone have idea for how to drive the original LCD display inside the comm box? Hook them up to FS?Is it a possible task? If yes, what is the possible way to interface it?http://alkit.fotopic.net/c338611.htmlregards,Alkitwww.alkit.nethttp://alkit.fotopic.net

I posted earlier a video I put together using video clips from the Airbus corporate site and pictures Matt has on his website. This was done before our recent visit. I took along my Sony TRV140 digital camcorder and made a video of the fantastic fun we had.The video is 4 1/2 minutes long and about 50 megs. Try and watch it in a dark room for best results. It does start a little like the spoof I put together earlier, but stick with it and you will be amazed. I did not edit the soundtrack so the cockpit voice recorder is live.Find it here:http://tinyurl.com/3nyy2Enjoy! Be sure and post your comments about the sim --- not my video work!Regards,BobShttp://s95171098.onlin…

Hi everyone,I'm new into posting in this forum, but I've been reading it for about 2 years now. You quys made me anxious enough to get me into cockpitbuilding myself. That is why I started on the FSBUS interface. I've etched two PCB's, The FSCOMIII and the FSLED board to get me started. I got all the components and carefully started soldering. My FSCOMIII seems erronous. It does give out voltages at the PIC on the FSLED board, and it can be altered using the FSBUS software (using the troubleshooting page). It does not respond correctly however to the changes made in the troubleshooting page (It looks like the changes are inverted from what they should be :( ).Before I go in…

Ok - Those who know me tell me I can't afford to do this - pull out my hair.Which is what I am currently trying to do - I've found one solution but it kills another options.I want to be able to press the vs button on my cockpit and maintain the current rate of climb. So if I'm cluimbing at 2305ft/m I want to continue at that rate - not 1500 or whatever the preset is on the plane. Is this possible?Another problemWhen I press a button - it may light up the corresponding light - even though that mode is not active - for example the approach when you're in the middle of no where - the light goes on - but the corresponding fs button on the plane doesn't - which is correct. Ho…

Some folks have contacted me concerning the korry-switch mold I got and I came to think that the best solution is to make the 10-switch-mold I got travel around the globe. The idea is that I will send the mold after I'm done with it to 1 person. He can use it to make his switches. Then he will send it on to the next user etc etc. Untill there is no one left and then the last one should send it back to me. Only cost = shipment to the next user. What users will need is: 2 cans of polyurethane components.I plan on making a list of people that are interested, get their locations and work out a route for the "globe-trotting-mold".Anyone who is interested, mail me: pvanagt -A…

For those that are interested, here is the latest pictures of the cockpit project that I'm working on.http://www.nzdragons.com/cockpit/state01small.JPG - What it looks like from behind - like me totally organised.http://www.nzdragons.com/cockpit/state03small.JPG - What it looked like before I started today.http://www.nzdragons.com/cockpit/state02small.JPG - What it looks like now.As you know this is based on the bae146Panels - from left to rightNav1 then the mcp - heading for the nav1, then the heading dial, then the nav2 heading then the altitude - the values are all test values, and not something I was flying. The mcp has little leds that light up depending on the flight…

I am thinking of building a custom panel for use with many aircraft. The panel will use a keyboard emulator, most likely the KE-USB36 USB Keyboard Encoder and Trackball Interface from Hagstrom.I have a good idea of how to wire/program the switches but have a question about adding rotary switches. The ideal would be to use the rotaries to change NAV, COMM, ADF, Squawk Code. Can this be done using this type of keyboard emulator. Also, it is possible to also hook up a display so I can see the settings ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I am new to this side of the hobby.regards,Mark.

As a compromise between me wanting a large sim room and my wife rooting for a hometheater room, i came up with a plan where we build both next to each other..Then i started wondering how about mounting the center projector to ceiling on rails and repositioning into each room depending on which room we use. For this, projector needs to be leaniarly repositioned by about 8-9 feet (2.5-3.0 meters) into the adjascent room, and then turned (yaw) by 90 degrees as the projection walls are at that angle to each other. Then it needs to be locked firmly into the position without allowing any vibrations. Wondering anyone has this kind of setup? Any ideas, comments?thankssri

Hi everybody!I need help from some fsbus specialists!I want build a homecockpit with an overhead panel. The software for the overhead is the hcsdt software (OHL-logic)For the controlling i want use a keyboard (USB).Now i want see the position of the switch with a LED.z.B. APU-Master Switch LEDI define an LED in FSBUS but i don

Sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but in my project, I'm going to need to program my fsbus stuff to use some of the addresses that fsbus doesn't have as standard.I've read heaps about all these different values- but nowhere how to actually make them work.Anyone care to explain them?

Our fun today.http://s95171098.onlinehome.us/img/Doug1.jpgAnd a quickie video of the fun.http://s95171098.onlinehome.us/vid/RES.zip"Owner" will do the rest of the posting on subject. These two are just teasers from a passenger on today's great adventure.Regards,BobShttp://s95171098.onlinehome.us/junk/aopa.jpgSeems the rage to talk about the "size and speed" of each others computer. Beat this if you can for solving novel/unique problem anywhere in the cosmos. ..Have K&E and know how to use it!

I have been searching the forum for the last couple of days looking for an answer to why my newly built FSBUS isn't working. One problem I did find and correct, is that I had all the transistors backwards, except the large one with the heat sink. I am not an electroncs expert and I guess I made the wrong assumption when looking at the component layout drawings. Anyways, that is fixed now.I am getting the "Read after Write" error (big surprise huh :(). When I run the troubleshooter, I am only getting 8.47 volts to the MCLR when the checkbox is checked, and I am getting 8.07 when it is unchecked. Pin 12 and 13 have 5.04 at all times, whether or not the box is checked.Hop…

Hello, I have just finished a new type of cockpit designed for WW2 combat flight simulators. It is all Aluminium, looks like the fuselage of an I-16, rests on 2 skids and not a single wire can be seen.http://www.simpit.net/images/backabove.jpgI am putting together a website where I post all the information that I have about the project. see it at http://www.simpit.net

Further to my previous post 'Rough mental design.....' I have decided to add a third display to the PC to be mounted in the console. I am currently running a GeForce 5900, driving two displays. I have a very old PCI card but can't get this to run with the 5900 when it is driving two displays. When I first set this up I was aware of an issue with older cards, and that using newer cards allowed one to run many cards under XP.My question is, is this card -> XFX GeForce MX4000 64MB going to allow me to run three displays under XP? I can get one for about

I tried to make a rotary switch to control the heading - and eventually the altitude for my cockpit - the vs on project magenta works for what I need.Unfortunately my logic sucked and it only worked only if I changed directions. Here is the picturehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/99992.gif

Ok I am wrestling with this issue now for a long time and here's my idea.First we take a part of wood. We cut out all shapes of the panels & sand them so that the sides look like real panels.Next step is to cut out all places where there is text or switches & buttons. Then we cut out plexi shapes that fit those gaps perfectly. We print the text on paper using a color that matches as perfect as possible the color of the spray paint we will use for the panel. Then we drill or cut the holes for the switches/buttons into the plexy. And finally glue the printed paper on top of the plexi. Now we fit the plexi parts into the wood panels. Maybe using hot-melt-glue from t…

ok, adjusting rudder sensitivity via the well known joystick menu in FS doesn't give me the desired result. F50 still goos crazy on the nose-wheel when I move the pedals.Anyone knows if there is a parameter in the cfg file of the a/c or such that I can adjust for this ?

I'm at a point where I can now use what I've made to fly the plane - I'm building a bae146 and need help with the MCP.The bae climbs 1 of 2 ways - either by maintaining an ias or by a vertical rate.By Speed.Wind the throttles up to the desired speed and press the ias button and it will trim to maintain that speed.By VSPull/Push the yoke to the desired setting then pressing the v/s button, and it will maintain that rate of climb, or descent.GSL - is used for the glideslope - but at the moment it intercepts the gs but maintains the height - I think the altitude is over ruling the gs.Vor/Loc this is also an option but I can't find the offset on the fsbus commands. At the mome…

Hi folks,Just want to post some update pictures of my cockpit. I did the lighting of the front panels for about two weeks. Using an AT power supply for older computer (cost $4).I didn't put the copilot pilot panel in place yet.http://alkit.fotopic.net/p9697997.htmlhttp://alkit.fotopic.net/p9697998.htmlNext i will work on the Korry 318 indicator conversion. I will try to convert them to use LED lights (3V).After the lighting work, I will work on the hook up of some panel box. Will pick up an easy one for the beginning.www.alkit.nethttp://alkit.fotopic.net

Hi guys,I've decided to start a simpit, but just a radio stark and a simplt autopilot for a Cessna for the first version.I'm tempted to buy the IOCards but after reading the manuals I found the software is pretty fuzzy while the FSBUS seems to be more easy. The first requires typing offsets, while the latter interrogate FSUIPC directly with no need to remember HEX addresses.BTW, I can do some electronics but I can not really build the master cards form stratch, for this reasons I should buy the prebuild and tested FSBUS.Before I take the final decision, can you please tell me your impressions and provide some suggestions? Many thanks in advancePierf
