I've done some work on the wiki during the past 2 days and I've cleared out the presentation page.http://wiki.varxec.net/Interesting_Existin...ulator_ProjectsThere is an example form which you can use to copy-paste to your personal page so we get uniform layout. This should not replace the simbuilders registry because the registry is simply much more handy to use for most folks. However if you find time, it would be great to see plenty of presentations on the wiki so that we can cross-link to your perso wiki page from other pages in the wiki. Almost same info as on the registry goos onto the presentation page plus some more details.

Hi allI posted a few pics on the PIC767 forum but thought others might be interested in the LED lighting I have installed in my 767 glareshield.I used amber ultra bright LED's sanded to diffuse the light and a dimming circuit from Mikes site which I can recommend as a great source of low heat adjustable lighting for any cockpit, as it would readily adapt to backlighting as well. I use 12V from an AT power supply capable of supplying 8 amps at 12 volts so literally 100's of LED's can be powered from this source. The dimming circuit only costs a cup of coffee to build...go to Mike's site for details....oh...and thanks to Mike!Excuse my enthusiasm for this lighting but it doe…

I have built a set of rudder pedals, using the guts from a USB joystick. I have run the Windows XP calibration. I have set all assignments in FS2004. For some reason, when I am using my rudder pedals my pitch axis becomes very sensitive. Roll sensitivity is normal. Any ideas? Let me know if you need more information. Thanks in advance!Royer

Looks like there is some activity at the FSBUS web-site! Anyone know what's going on? I had e-mailed Dirk around the begining of December with questions about a fix for the common anode display problem and the transponder code setting problem. At that time he indicated that perhaps after the holidays he could get too it........... maybe the time-is-at-hand!!Gus

Is it possible to have 2 of the exact same joysticks running at the same time on Windows XP and FS2004?thanks. In case youre wondering, I usually fly with one joystick and I bought a 2nd one that is now disasembled that is being used for my linked yoke project (www.freewebs.com/flightlevel180) . Once the linked yokes are working, I wont have rudder or throttle function and so I would like to use the joystick that is still in one piece as an interim tiller and throttle lever. Thanks,Eric

Some time ago, some aspiring coder wrote an app that allows a pilot and a copilot to fly the same aircraft and flight over the internet. Does anyone have any info on that?

Anyone working on the diy Mjoy (atmega8-16) joystick?I am trying to create a new configuration, this is hard for someone who has no training in programming but it is great fun.I have renamed one device and changed vendorid. I was wondering if it would be possible to change the HAT-configuration to four ordinary buttons. Or change the axis into extra buttons.

Hello,Someday I intend to build a home cockpit. Currently it looks like it will be forever and a day away but at some point it will happen. My question is this. I have an old Dell Inspiron 7000 laptop computer. The LCD screen was replaced two years ago. Another part of the computer faild shortly after that and I haven't used it since. Is is likely that I would be able to use the LCD in a home cockpit project down the road? I was considering taking it to a computer donation center but I will keep it if the screen might be useable as a PFD or ND or the like. Thanks in advance,Larry Brown

Here are some pictures showing the construction of the sim base and major components. The first picture is the base structure. The sim is designed to be easily (I hope) disassembled for movement. The sides will fit into the little squares and be held in place by bolts.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/106587.jpgThe rudder pedals temporarily positioned will be adjustable fore and aft by 6

Team: I currently have 3 CRT monitors running side by side on my desk displaying cockpit and instrument panel views. I'm looking to add three more and additional CPUs to incorporate a WideView solution displaying external views. I've noticed some guys stacking CRT monitors one on top of another. My desk is against a wall but I'm not certain whether a shelf would hold the load of approximately 150 lbs. of three additional monitors. Any suggestions on this? I know, LCDs would be nice but not an option right now. Thanks for your input!Pete in KORD

Hi all,As my sim is placed on a platform, I would like to get some force feedback on it. I have placed the platform on some kind of suspension to allow it to be "shaked".I have a force feedback joystick that I would like to hack so I can drive a 220v motor with it.I made a motor with an off-centre wheel to make things shake.Does anyone have an idea how to make the connection between the joystick and the big motor. I am not an electronic man so I need some advise on this. In my opinion it must be possible to disconnect the wires from the joystick and adding the right electronic components to connect it to the 220v motor.Any help would be apreciated. Thanks,Marnix
