Hi guys.I'm looking to build a simplified version of the throttle quadrant shown in this tutorial http://www.simpits.org/articles/throttle_quad/throtquad.html . Basically, I want to have 6 levers (2 throttle, 2 propeller, 2 mixture) and thats it for now. Besides flying FS2004, I also play IL-2 Sturmovik so it must be able to function normally outside of FS2004.I was just wondering if the above tutorial is a good place to start, or if there is perhaps an easier way to accomplish my goal? I'm confident in my ability to physically build the thing, but when it comes to wiring, or writing hardware drivers I'm a complete novice. From my understanding, once everything is built, …

It seems that a real flap gauge is on the market. According to the guys at Flight Illusion, their single needle gauge can be customised to any single needle instrument bij means of changing the faceplate and assign the flaps setting through the driver software.Their is a picture of such a flaps indicator on their website:http://www.flightillusion.comThe instruments are also very thin.Since I already bought some engine instruments from them, I might as well go for the flaps indicator.I'll keep you posted

Hey folkes,Has anyone got the LvlD 767 yet? I assume so, it's been quite here the last few days. Probably everybody is test-flying it!Well... I LOVE IT!And what I love the most is that it comes with the promised SDK to communicate with the panel. And from the brief view I took into it, you can communicate with almost the entire aircraft!!MCP, Overhead, Electrics, Hydralics, you name it!The SDK includes a dll that contains the IPC routines, a C header and a C library with the variables.I really really really hope that Dirk incorporates it into FSBUS as an option. I would love to control the 767 with my hardware. If this happens I will sure throw those 737NG panels awa…

Hi,I have a set o flightstick, throttle and rudder peddals from CH.Unfortunately they are ADB(Apple Desktop Bus) which has been replaced by USB in newer Macs.I dont even have a Mac anymore but the controls are like new, hardly been used. Now, there is an ADB/USB adaptor but CH support tells me it wont work since there is nodrive compatible to use then on a PC.My question is since people here are talented and clever enough to make controls from scratch I'd like to ask if there is a way for me to adapt my controls to work with USB.Is it too complicated? Im really frustrated looking at those expensive controls and thinking they have becomejust expensive paper wheight! There m…

Hi... I bought a sleeve of ATMega8 chips (It was almost as cheap as buying just the one that I needed) intending to make myself an MJoy board.Making a programmer to program the ATMega's though is another pain - it needs a whole new chip in itself to make one. Is there anyoine out there who already made one and would be nice enough to program a chip that I sent them?Richard

It works a treat and you can't beat getting rid of the mouse for the avionics.Have a look at http://simflight.fotopic.net/c474158.htmlI will be making a new centre panel as soon as I decide on which engine instruments to use.

Hello All, First of all, my sincerest apologies to anyone who has e-mailed me and not received a response (or took a long time to get a response). I am in my final semester of engineering, and am in class almost 12 hours per day. Needless to say, my e-mail has been neglected, and I have been unable to answer many inquiries. I will be graduating in 6 weeks, then I will be simming/developing full-time again. Until then, I will try to answer e-mails whenever possible. However, I will be back up to FULL speed around mid-May.Best regard, and thanks for all the support!Roberthttp://777Simulator.com

Evening,A couple weeks back I bid and won a set of manufactured 737 Throttle Knobs from eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4529808610&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:CA:6). As you may have seen on the Flight Deck Solutions forum, I was extemely impressed with the quality of the workmanship. Since that time, the seller and I have been exchanging emails about other products they are manufacturing. Needless to say, I was just as amazed with pictures of their 727, 737, and 747 Yokes! Based on my dealings with them, I've already purchased two 737 yokes and will post some pictures when I get them.Anyway, they just let me know that they've created…

Hi All,I have recently built a set of Flight Sim rudder pedals using the guts of a USB joystick. All I did was canabalize the throttle axis for the rudder axis and two buttons for left and right brake. Hence when I plug it in the computer sees it not as rudder pedals but as USB joystick with POV. I can override this by re-assigning axis's and buttons when I load Flight Sim but when I do this it makes the elevator axis of my joystick very very sensitive, and adjusting the sensitivity doesn't seem to help.Part of the problem may be that the joystick I am using for flying is the same type as the joystick that I used to make the rudder - so the computer sees two identical …
