Hi all.Was just wondering, what all you builders out there do with those commands you can activate more than one place? I am in the very beginning of building a throttle quadrant, and was wondering if someone have made working trim-wheels, and still have the buttons for elevator-trim on the yoke working? And how about the A/T disconnect on the TQ, and AP disconnect on the yoke? Will that conflict with the Autopilot (CP-flight) hardware, or just override it?Any experiences?Regards, Jan

There are worse things than troubleshooting that non-working circuit or figuring out how to fit the slightly too big monitor in your panel. For the past several weeks (seems like a year) She Who Must Be Obeyed has me remodeling the first of two bathrooms. So the T-38 sim sits abandoned in a corner of the workshop as I tear out walls and float plaster joints. Next, it is wall papering and ceramic tile. If you never hear from me again, I probably fell into the wallpaper paste vat and drowned. So be careful before you try to impress your honey with your building skills. She just might believe you.LOLJohn

Here's something that may be of interest to any military 'pit builders out there.I've been working with a couple of F-16 sim builders to develop an interface to a real RWR display. This is part of the threat warning system that keeps the pilot informed of radar-emitting threats pointed his way. The display is a 3" round CRT that shows the 16 most important threats. This is an in-process project. We're about to start building some prototype hardware. Here's a block diagram:There's a much more detailed description of the project here http://www.mikesflightdeck.com/rwr_project.htmMikewww.mikesflightdeck.com

http://www.opencockpits.com/images/2T12.jpg!! A new IOCard USBAxes is available in www.opencockpits.com !!It controls up to 24 buttons and 5 A/D converters using USB port. You not need any software because operating system recognize like a special Joystick. And you can assign buttons and axes throught simulator.Another IOCards can operate with A/D if you need specific programming, but this card is only for users want to connect card directly to simulator.

Hi to AllI am looking for information for the opencockpits group about the compatible encoders for the IOCards. I wanted the readers of this forum that have badges IOCards with encoders to put here the models that are using, and how the encoders is connected to the master card, directly to the card or through the encoder 2 card. Thank you for your help.Jose

Hi guys,If you also have build a hardware FMC for the Level-D 767-300, and in particular if you're using a Hagstrom KE72 keyboard encoder:I have found a work around for Level-D's FMC KA-mode bug!! (The problem being that you can put the FMC in Keyboard Assist mode, but you cannot get it back to normal mode ...)See my website, page New!I'm no longer grounded!! Cheers!Nicowww.nicokaan.nl

We have our flight deck nearly built up now, with the roof panel, the framing etc.....however we have a problem! :(Our projector was planned to sit on the overhead panel.....Our room is small, we have the length of the flight deck and about 3 feet (behind it), the front is about 1foot from the wall, our intended projection screen.....however we are having major issues with:1) The picture being FAR too small due to the distance of the projector from the screen2) The shape of the roof where the projector is sat (or was) doesnt allow the projector to propperly angle down enough to fill the lower portions of the front windows (ie, image is too high). Cant take it much higher …

Not actually very clear photos as I don't have a digital camera but it will give you an idea. The MCP is replica of the 737NG, hopefully soon to be replaced with a 757 MCP replica. It's custom made from 15mm think plexiglass and allows for backlighting, altough I haven't installed any yet.For the time being it's enclosed into a wooden box, but I will change it to aluminium box soon.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/115928.jpgThe pedestal has provision to accomodate the infamous 767 throttle quadrant and it's not even painted yet. But it works.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/115929.jpgCertaintly nothing much compared to some of the setups I've seen here, but...hey... i…

This should be interesting for a lot of flight schools doing transition training for pilots, as well as for home cockpit folks: 2 LCD's, *no 7-segments, no leds, nothing but the screens and knobs and buttons :)www.projectmagenta.com//Tuomas

As my cockpit is quite finish, I've to bought a video projector .. :-)But with so much models and benchmark ... It's hard to know which one is the best for my configuration.(I know some close questions were posted before but I'vnt fine the answer to my questions)I've a closed two place biturboprops cockpit 2 x 2 m in a 4 x 4 m room. A 3.6 P4 with a 6600GT Nvidia GC. I've very hi frame rate and flight VFR most of all: the landscape is important. What I need:- Hi resolution minimum 1024*760 or more- Wide angle due to the small room (or I can project front the front to a rear mirror which resent the image to the front, that's possible)- low Latenz und hispeed response (hi fr…

OK, never mind ! I found it ;) and it is working :)//____________________________________________Ok, here's the question, why does this work:if (keys[VK_F3]){keys[VK_F3]=FALSE;_charsize-=1;BuildFont();}and why doesn't this work:if (keys['a']){keys['a']=FALSE;_charsize-=1;BuildFont();}In other words, how can my code know if a key is pressed other than the VK keys ?I keep looking on the net in the meantime while waiting an answer here.

Hello all,Sorry to bug everyone here again, but I'm a bit of a newb when it comes to the whole home cockpit thing :)I'm looking at building a generic panel (a small box, really) with a couple of throttle levers, and some of the more common switches. (lights, autobrake etc.)I have looked over a few tutorials regarding auto-throttles via servos, and it doesn't sound all that difficult (tedious, getting everything properly aligned but not difficult) But one thing continues to stump me.I would probably end up using a Phidgets 4 servo controller, and 2 Hi-tech HS815BB servos. What I'm concerned about is driving the servos. I could tell the software to just move the servos to m…

I just completed successfully my first flight with the 767-300 and complete hardware control with what I have for now! (MCP + Pedestal)So, ladies... (huh?) and Gentlemen... (applause...)Here they are!The required entries for FSBUS (ver2.2) to allow control of the LevelD 767 with the use of Nico Kaan's FSCONV translator. To make the entries available in FSBUS you have to add the following lines into the FSIF.INI file found in the FSBUS folder.Be sure to make a backup first! Also, you CANNOT use Project Magenta and the Level D 767 at thesame time as FSCONV uses the PM FSUIPC offset range to translate the panel data. After you have copied these definitions to the FSIF.ini file,…

Hello all, I'm building a simple pedestal, to try and get the hang of all the I/O stuff before I jump into a whole pit. (will be using PM Systems / Phidget cards) I have a quick question. Has anyone been able to find magnetic release rotary switches? (ie: on the 737 overhead, the engine start switches are 4 position rotaries (Gnd, Off, Cont, Flight). If you move it to Off, Cont or Flight it stays there. If you move to position Gnd, it stays there until you either move it, OR apply power to the switch, which releases it back to position Off) I have been looking everywhere, but I can't seem to find a switch that can handle this. Thanks, -Chris

I just managed to write a code in C++ which connects to FSUIPC and shows an OpenGL window with both a text string "Speed - 120" (if speed would be 120 kts in FS) and a needle rotating according (same as the needle in the default cessna).*proud of myself**G*

Hello again. Now i try to build compas for my 737 cockpit.i have big problem now with "360 - 0 point" at compas. When the controller sees change of value with 360 on 0, it starts to rotate the engine counter-clockwise, instead of that what to make 1 step clockwise and to borrow zero position. When the engine comes back in zero position, having made a full turn, it begins rotating clockwise. How to solve this with FSBUS?Thanks.Alexander.

Just thought I'd share this with you all. I've always been trying to improve my cockpit visuals and this latest development has me really excited :-yellow1First, to set the scene, I have a homebuilt enclosure as a cockpit and I look out through the cockpit windows (MDF cutouts) at the outside view only. This outside view is on a 22" CRT monitor. The instrument panels are on two other LCD monitors within the cockpit. The Captain's windscreen itself consists of a curved Fresnel Lens which is about 20" wide by 16" high. The monitor sits about 22" behind it. The monitor image is, thus, magnified about 50% and creates a kind of 3D effect. There is no FO's position so that win…
