Hi,with the release of new SB3, i decided to expand my current Fsbus system (MCP+1 EFIS) and make operational my radios in pedestal and also i started to work with Copilot's EFIS.So i found the opportunity to fix some minor problems i had in my MCP and Captain's EFIS to make them 100% operational. You know some cables that was in the "air", a pushbutton had a problem in the PCB's lines etc. After many many hours, i finally make them work. But there is some problems i need your help !!The led of V/S pushbutton is operational and it works in FsBus's led tests. But when i'm making test flights and push v/s, the led is dead!V/S works fine and the aircraft starts the climb or th…

I need a cost effective (cheap) method of controlling/entering radio frequency that also requires no programing knowledge. Decided to give it a try and see if I still had any design talent and cleverness. Here is my solution:Purchased a "Staples-special" Logetech ATK3 joystick for $9usd. Updated the software to current release. Cheap stick, but it comes with software that allows me to define a sequence of keystrokes with each button push. Thus I am able to define a zoom+ and a zoom- key. And I can program a "c" and define as the com1 select. ;-)What it boils down to, all I need for "buttons" on the joystick is one for z+, one for z-, and for the slection of the event I w…

Hello,I'd like to make a fuel transfer pump to pump fuel from the aux to the main tank for example, with FSBUS CCC.My idea is to assign a taster switch to a timer linked to a counter which substract gallons from a tank and add it to another, repeated every seconds till the tank is full or the other is empty or if the switch is set off. That's quite lots of conditions to solve ...Therefore the fuel is coded in capacity (%) and not directly in gallon, as the tanks are different size, we've to calculate the fuel quantity in gallon by multiplying % and total gallon, I don't know how to do that with fsbus ...If someboy have ideas or propositions ....Thank'sBOB

Hi Guys, flying from time to time with the great R4D/DC-3 from MAAM-Sim I wanted to control with a switch the tail wheel lock.since this command was not included in the standard "FlightSim destination" list I tried to add it according to the readme file. So I created a myFSIF.ini file but here is my concern:according to Pete Dowson's List of FS2004 Controls, the "Toggle_Tailwheel_Lock" offset is 66541. When converted in hexa it is 0x103ED. Unfortunatly this offset doesn't work for me.Do I miss something ? I realised all other offsets in the FSIF.ini are below 0xFFFF and this one (as every other offsets in the Pete Dowson's list) is above this value ???? Do I have to substr…

For anyone interested, this is the schematic I created for my electrical panel. It doesn't show the cannon plug (couldn't fit it on the page), but that component is basically identical to the Anti-Ice panel schematic. The lamps in the middle are the "On" Legends, and the lamps connected to the Phidget card at the bottom are the red annunciators.http://www.t-b-x.com/prather/777project/ne.../elecPanel7.JPGhttp://www.t-b-x.com/prather/777project/ne...elSchematic.jpgRoberthttp://777Simulator.com

HiThe engine torque is coded in offset as a percent. But for example with the KingAir if you put the props in feather and push full throttle you obtain an overtorque, the torque gauge overpass the 100% to 120 %.My question, how to calculate the real torque, is there another offset which give the torque up to 100% is there a way to obtain it ?The kingAir Torque gauge is not XML, we can't edit it to see what offset is use for the display ...Thank'sBOBPS I aim to make an overtorque warning light

Hi Folks! From the cockpit, I need clear views left and right (mainly for approaches). I have Go Flight modules including a GFP8 (8 push buttons)but there seems to be no provision for clear views left and right (I don't want the seat and window frame included!) I can emulate using suitable keyboard keys, but so far I can't seem to find them. This should be basic stuff - but I think my brains giving out!!!Any advice would be appreciated.TONY. U.K.

I am new to this "hobby", and a little confused as to what to do next. I happened upon an F-111 crew module years ago, it had been converted into a Cockpit Familiarization Trainer. It came with all documents and schematics, but blows a fuse after five minutes. It is my goal to make it into a twin engine jet simulator. I went with the Epic USB because of the vast number switches, dials, knobs, buttons, lamps and hats present in the cockpit. But now that I have it, and am scouring the web for information on how to make it work, I am running into very old material. Is there an active EPIC community on the web?I have found many sites featuring cockpits and EPIC controllers, ma…

Hi all.Just wondered, how do you apply brakes in a real plane?I am building a b737 cockpit, and I know, the rudder pedals is used for differential braking, but how do I apply normal brakes, like the .command in FS? Should that be assigned to a button on the yoke, or do you press both pedals at the same time? For sure, pressing both F11 and F12 on the keyboard do not work. Does anyone know how it works in a real plane?Regards, Jan P.

How does everyone with home cockpits deal with ATC?Obviously you cant use the traditional methods as having the menu projected on the outside screen, and needing a keyboard in your flight deck isnt exactly ideal.Do you just live without, or are there some good soloutions out there? Cheers :D

Hey Mindaugas / Leo / IOCards folks, whoever hacks on PICs, Microchip has new products available, supporting 13 AD-lines and 34 IO lines.. This sounds like a pretty interesting basis for cheap USB devices in the spirit of MJoy / Plasma MiniME / IOCards usb modules.. One can do quite a lot with 13 potentiometers... around $6 a piece those look like great things to build on..I'd love to buy a few PCboards + component kits if IOCards created a new AD-module from these.. :)//Tuomas

I have created a smaller version of the 777 Collection, which is available for free (no timers). It may be useful for those who just want basic functionality, or who just need a space filler, etc.http://www.t-b-x.com/prather/777project/77...lectionDemo.zip The documentation is the same, and the displays are selectable using the function keys (F1-F5 or 6 I believe)http://www.t-b-x.com/prather/777project/77...er%20Manual.zipI will likely re-post the Airbus instruments in May, for free, for anyone who wants them (if anybody is interested)...Enjoy!Roberthttp://777Simulator.comhttp://HSBRegistry.com

Hey all,I'm preparing my cockpit panels currently to make them myself as DS is taking too long. I want to use this method, as it's cheap, easy, and gives good backlighting (I think): http://www.xflight.de/f16/pe_sim_pnl.htmBut I've got a questions concerning that method...If you put the LEDs in the back, the angle they emit light is rather small (mostly 30 degrees), and the light is thus "wasted"... You can put them in from the sides, but how to do that? I have no experience with this, I only saw some pictures from panels and "glowpads" (engraved plexi, picture: http://www.pcarena.org/images/gallery/glowpad%202.JPG).As you can see, that glowpad lights up perfectly wih onl…

Guys,I am just starting my modest cockpit with the creation of a autopilot using one of those Hagstrom encoders and a few switches from Radio Shack. My budget is on the cheap. I need a picture of an autopilot face to capture from the net and then print out as a sticker to apply to the AP panel. Can anyone suggest a site to capture a .jpg? Or could anyone share a pic that they may have? Or any other simple, cheap suggestion? Thanks in advance,

Hi All!I would like some additional infos or maybe personal experiences about collimated displays. I've read everything I possibly could about this but there's still no word about how much it could cost (big companies like Mountain Optics are definitely too expensive).I'm mostly looking for some cheap solutions that can render that kind of depth and that both FO and Captain could enjoy(so no fresnel lenses.). Thank you for your help! (BTW I'm a new builder here though I 've been browsing all sorts of forums and site about this hobby for a long time now) :-)

I just learned that there is a way to transform the LPT-switch interface into a joystick. No more need for my software I think. Just some drivers. Other good news is that the drivers see 2 joysticks of 30 switches each. This means 60 !! total per LPT port. And the maker of the drivers sais he could possibly do even better.http://ppjoy.bossstation.dnsalias.org/Docs/PPJoyMain.htmFeel free to check it out !

What kind of costs are involved for the kit?I ask all this as I have been trying to find a cost effective CNC unit for some time now and have yet to find any under $3,000 USD (not really in my price range). I would build one mysel…
