HelloI am currently struggling to print the image files for the FS Bus PCBs (old style.....PIC).I have been using the PDFs on Jari's sire (http://mikkila.wabbits.org/fsbus/doc/pdf_e.php)The problem is, I am using the Print n Peel Blue paper to make my PCBs...So I need to flip these images over...Adobe Acrobat wont let me do that!If i copy it out as an image file, and then print, I lose the quality of the line (ie, they need to be printed PERFECT for the trakcs to come out right....)Anyone got any ideas? Ideally I'd like to also have a few PCBs on one printed page (COM, FS KEY, Display Controller, FS LEd etc), as the blue Print n Peel sheets are letter size (almost A4).Any…

Hi there, I need to know how to set up 3 monitors to display Project Magenta graphics.I understand that you need to run Pm Systems Software on a Client PC, separately, from the main PC running Flight Simulator.Firstly how many PC's do I need in total for my setup? and secondly do I install Project Magenta Software on the same PC that is running Flight Simulator? How then do I have different displays on each monitor? for exampleMonitor (1)HSI and MAP, Monitor (2) EICAS etc.Do I need a special cable or hardware device to link all three monitors together, or is it controlled by software? Please if you can clearly explain what is needed I would be very greatful.I have enclosed …

  3. Hi all...I recently had some frame speed problems and dual monitors that I have solved based on help from the kind folks on this site but now I have a new problem.I was getting slow FPS with my GEForce 2500 128MB (AGP)so I went and bought a Radeeon 9250 128 MB (PCI). When I had one monitor hooked to one card and another hook to the other FS2004 wouldn't recognize them in HARDWARE section. It would also only allow me to run in window view with no 3d stuff I solved this by having the two monitors hooked to the Radeon.....however I would eventually like to use both cards to run 4 monitors...outside view, GPS, captain instruments and co-pilot instruments. Is there anyway to ge…

Howdy everyone~!Some of you know me, others... not so much... I have built a B777 sim and frankly, I have been losing some interest in it. I'm not sure if this is a passing thing or....At any rate, I have my eye set on building another pit. The SR22http://www.cirrusdesign.com/images/avionics-b.jpg(...who couldn't love that interior?)At any rate, I may end up keeping the 777 sim I have, in addition to adding another pit to the collection.I am looking at changing interfaces as well... I have EPIC, but it is tremendously frustrating on long hauls, as it sometimes locks up, and various functions tend to come and go as they please. To build out the SR22, I am looking at [link]w…

Hi there I want to find an experienced cockpit builder who would be happy to help me build my first project, I dont have any building skills or the confidence to tackle electronics. But I would be very greatful if someone would be willing to give up their time to help me. I would be happy to pay them for the work undertaken.I would like to build either an Airbus A320 Boeing 737 or 767.I dont know where to start, I have looked at various companies offering cockpit hardware such as flightdeck solutions ITRA CSI etc, but need to decide which company would offer the best product. So please if there is anyone who would be happy to help, please leave a message.

  9. Hi all...I wonder if someone can help me. Previously I had 2 monitors ( 1 for gauges 1 for outside view) running from 1-dual input GEForce card. The FPS was great on outside view. I recently changed one monitor to a flat panel LCD Dell for the gauges. For some reason the FPS are real slow and when I'm flying the outside view is jerky and not smooth now.My question is:1) Did the Dell monitor change my memory needs on PC and this is what is effecting my FPS?2) Should I be setting the monitors to some special resolutions so I can get FPS up ?3) Or should I simply mess around with the FS2004 features to get my outside view nice and smooth ? (I would imagine I would have to re…

Hi everyone,I received the rudder pedals from GoFlight yesterday. This is my first rudder pedals, didnt fly with it in sim before.http://alkit.fotopic.net/p15443222.htmlhttp://alkit.fotopic.net/p15443223.htmlhttp://alkit.fotopic.net/p15443224.htmlhttp://alkit.fotopic.net/p15443225.htmlThe installation is easy. It include a CD which is not useful for the rudder pedals installation but the other GF control device. The only problem I encounter is, the FS confuse me a bit when I enable the differential brake. The "BRAKE" sign will remain ON on the lower left corner of the screen. It is not telling me that it is brakING, but telling me that I am in differential brake mode only.…

I'd like to order my switches soon, as I want to start building my panels. The problem is: the real switches can't be found anymore, even NASA uses new switches. The factories who made them closed down.So reality is no issue. But size is! I'd like to know from you, who should have some experience throwing switches, what is a good size?Since I need a LOT of switches (do I hear 800 pieces??), I'd like them to be as cheap as possible. Currently, Futurlec is the cheapest. I mailed to ask the dimensions and this is what I got:SPST10 - Base - Length - 13mm, width - 8mm, height - 10mm - Toggle - 15mm Mounting hole - 5mm diameterIs this big enough? I may eventually get my ha…

:-zhelp :-zhelpHello all, I am planning on building helicopter-style controls. Already have an idea on the mechanics, but it's the electronics part that is the big question mark here. Really would like your opinion/input on this .... thanks!!I have an old Sidewinder joystick which I can use as basis for my controls, but it connects to the gameport. Gameport is a very simple but by design rather inaccurate interface.(which is why it needs all this (re-)calibration).What chopper controls need most is accuracy. I am considering buying a cheap USB joystick to strip and use for my controls, just because I suspect the USB interface is more accurate and stable than the ole'gamep…

Hi,i have a simple question: Let's say that we have a projector with a native resolution 800X600 and a maximum resolution 1024X768 (or 1280X1024). The signal from our Fs-pc is 1024X768 (or 1280).How the projector displays the image, like 1024X768 or it coverts it down to 800X600?In first case (displays the 1024X768) where is the difference with other projectors with native 1024X768. We loose from image's quality? In second case (converts/compress the 1024 down to 800x600) where is the difference if we had the 800x600 resolution direct from our FS-Pc. It's the same right? So we maybe loose also quality from the convertion. So why they have max 1024X768?As you can understand…

Hi again,Does anyone know the model of the concentric rotaries used by GoFlight in their Radio modules, and where I can buy some?Same question regarding the lighted buttons used in their MCP module.I plan to build some additional panels and I need them to have looks "compatible" to the GoFlight modules.I considered buying them from GoFlight, but the prices they are asking for them are "extreme" . Besides, I really don't need them assembled on a PCB.I searched Mouser etc. catalogs and I could not find them anywhere.Appreciat any help,Thanks,Alhttp://www.excitingsimulations.com/cockpit

Quick explanation.I study for Designer (idnustrial product) and our first assignment in dedicated fysics is to do something with LED's. The assignments we could chose from were waaaaay to easy I believe so I chose to invent my own (as was allowed). To combine both education with my sim I chose to try to create something usefull for the sim.The idea is to build a cirquit on 12V (PC power sup) which will light 4 LEDs as in the Fokker50 cockpit. 1 is blue and is mounted into the gear lever. 3 are green and are .. well y'all know these green ones.I have no experiance designing any cirquitry so if what I came up with so fare is anything good, I'll be amazed :)The idea is to …

I've never actually seen this module used in real life, so it was really neat to wire it up and see how it works. Here's how it works:- When the COMMAND toggle switch is thrown, the EVAC button flashes on and off. The buzzer sounds on and off at the same rate. The blink rate is proportional to the input voltage (the lower the voltage, the faster the EVAC light flashes.)- When the horn shutoff switch is pulled, the horn silences, but the EVAC button continues to flash.- Once the switch guard is closed, the panel returns to its normal state.http://www.t-b-x.com/prather/777project/Ne...y2005/EVAC1.JPGhttp://www.t-b-x.com/prather/777project/Ne...y2005/EVAC3.JPGHere is a 10 se…

I am in the process of constructing a somewhat generic cockpit based loosely on the DC-9, which I hope to integrate with FS9/windowsXP. I have been tinkering with electronics for years, but am quite inexperienced regarding interfacing with the computer or programming, and as such, would like to find a simple approach to drive all of the inputs and outputs that I will require. I do plan on using Go Flight products for some of the input fuctions, such as for the nav/com radios, but I still need a solution for the outputs, and for the more complicated interfacing. In my research, I have come across two products which may fit the bill: Photon from IFS, and Simkits Multi-cont…

Hi,Does anyone happen to know of a Biz-Jet FMC gauge that can be operated with keyboard shortcuts AND generates MSFS flight plans (i.e. does NOT need a specific MCP). I emphasize: gauge, NOT externally running program a la PM.I don't care if it is commercial and/or part of a panel/aircraft. I am willing to buy the product and then incorporate the FMC in my cockpit ;-)Thanks for any help,Alhttp://www.excitingsimulations.com/cockpit
