I find myself unfortunately in a bit of a 'static rich' environment, peculiar to the bone dry winter environment in Pretoria, South Africa, and am forced to first touch an adjacent PC chassis, before touching my FSBUS Panel. If I don't go through this procedure, the system 'senses' key events on various switches, and general havoc has been known to ensue. The FSBUS is powered from a discrete PC power supply, connected to the same AC source as my computers. The source of the static seems to be the plastic carpet protector on which the plastic wheels of my chair are running.Has anyone experienced this or similar? Can any electronics fundi please chime in with a suggestion?I'm w…

I'm putting together the list of items to get to start working on a home cockpit. One question that comes to mind is:Can I use a network to have add-on scenery and what not to a few computers or must I buy for each computer? I'm looking at having about 7 computers for a couple different planes and not to sure if I need a server on how this works.Lets say I wanted to have a cessna set up and a twin setup and be able to fly them differently at the same time but share all the add-ons...is this possible? Is there a preformance hit? How would I do this if it is possible?Any links or help or words from the guru would be great.Kilstorm

After receiving the LP24 several months ago, I programmed a simple 'g' for my landing gear control panel. It's worked flawlessly since.Well, now that I'm wiring my Boeing 727 overhead into it, the program cannot find the LP24 hooked into the system to load it. I tried using the LP24 and just the keyboard, I disconnected the landing gear switches, I reloaded the software and re-wrote the matrix, but nothing helped. I even tried to load it in a true DOS mode. Nothing. It just doesn't recognize it being in the loop.I tried a different keyboard as well, no luck there either.I sent it back to Hagstrom last week and it checked out fine. After getting it back and installing it, …

had when we were a Jr in highschool.I am not sure Tom is going to take my recomendation about flagging the excellent post recently made in the Hangar forum, but I am sure most of us will enjoy the excellent and videos made during a two week summer internship at Lufthansa in ... the simulator division near EDDF. Here is a link directly to his excellent post here on AVSIM.http://tinyurl.com/9a5u6The 'tinyurl' makes the url manageable.(Just the opposite end of "playing" Grand Theft Auto with the added 'features' unlocked. You will enjoy his work and talent. He certainly verifies that FS9, with the right add-ons, can get you ready to fly an automated aircraft like the Airbus…

I have been building a ERJ 140/145 panel.I am using one computer with two monitors .The CPU is a AMD FX55 with 2024mb of ddr 400 ram getting good results.I was wondering how can you find out what keys make certain things a happen in or too the panel or things that are not listed in the default settings of fs2004. I am using the feel there pic gauges and just sending them to the other monitor.I want to know things like how or what buttons to push to make say the no smoking button gauge react etc...Also, I have been using reality xp jet line 4 gauges but it is more along the lines of a CRJ set up. Most of my set up is goflight moduels (1) GF-T8 (2) GF 166 (1)GF 46 (1)GF P8…

I need someone to help me started on a C++ software.I got here a c++ program which can be operated from a cmd window. I need that to become a GUI based software.I got Visual C++ 6 and I got Bloodshed Dev-C++The cmd based program I can change in Dev-Cpp and I can make GUIs in Visual C++ But I can't manage to combine the 2 without errors that I do not know how to correct.I've been messing around with wxWidgets but that seems even to complex for my knowledge.Ideal would be to be able to do it all in VB.Net but I ain't going to start dreamin 'bout that.Who can help me out ?

I'll admit it.. I'm tired... Tired of years of EPIC programming, only to have the entire system freeze up on final approach after a 4-hour flight. I have recently developed a keen interest in general aviation aircraft and have already started building a Cirrus SR22 pit. (www.cirrusdesign.com)I am using Simkits gauges, which work flawlessly (No coding!!) and now I need an analog card that is GUI-friendly, NO CODING involved, USB interface, and is somewhat configurable via a software interface. The Cirrus requires 9 analog channels. (Pitch, roll, Rudder, Throttle, Mixture, L/R brakes (x2)I am looking currently at Beta Innovations, or Phidgets. I would love to hear what the …

Hi all,Just wondering if anyone has come across this problem before.I have each of my panels done up in CAD, and have got a local sign shot to laser engrave and cut each one.First I take some white perspex. Sand it. Primer. 2 layers of Acrylic plastic paint. When its getting cut, the laser is buring the paint, and leaves nasty brown burn marks all over the panel.I am thinking of adding a coupl eof layers of topcoat to see if it will protect it.Any other ideas?CheersChris G.

Hi I am new to this Forum, my Name is Jan, 31, Pilot from Germany. I am planning to build a 737 NG Cockpit as real as it gets. The Ultimate Goal is to have a JAR/LBA approved Full Motion Sim in the next 5 Years to be able to obtain a 737 Rating.I would like to start fixed base FNPt, with the option of adding motion later on.My Question is now:should I go for microsoft FS w PM, or Xplane / Flight Gear?I would like to have all the Systems with Failures and Abnormals, wich is the best way to go?Are there any original Control devices (yoke/Pedals Trim)wich have force feedback like the Original that can be bought ready to play?Thank YouJan

Hi Guys,Ive searched the forums for answers but found nothing. What i want to know is how one steers GA planes while on the grnd.I have a set of CH Pro pedals which i converted from gameport to USB.I use Leos MiniMe.What i am finding when trying to take off is how to keep the plane on the center line.I find that when the plane veers to the right and i apply a certain amount of correction there seems to be a delay.Consequently when the correction occurs its to much and i look like a drunk on a Friday night. If i look at the rudder while on the ground.any rudder pedal action is directly seen in movement of the rudder. So there is no delay here.I calibrated the pedals in FSUIPC…
