Well, after months of bathroom remodeling, I once again started browsing eBay for the missing piece to make the instrument panel in my T-38C sim. Would you believe it? I found a 12" LCD monitor that would work for the PFD between the pilot's legs on eBay.It was only $75 so I bought it on the spot. I have been trying for a year to find a 12" LCD that is not some laptop screen or a car DVD player.Anyway, after weeks of waiting for it to arrive, I email the seller and asked where it was? He replied that he had sent it on Aug.23rd, along with the UPS tracking number. I checked on it. It arrived in New Orleans the day before hurricane Katrina and never left.I'm screwed!:(…

The new SIOC 2.0 is available in www.opencockpits.com at download area.SIOC is an advanced programming system for IOCards with modules that connect to IOCP and FSUIPC. With it, any cockpit simulation can be programmed. The powerful language used in SIOC is events oriented and can be used on a network. Nowdays, complex simulation systems like ON-737 are being developed using this system. In this new version 2.0 we can find many new features, like the use of symbolic names to define IOCP variables, new simulation oriented functions, the last version of IOCPConsole, logs with variables filters, etc. Two languages included: spanish and english.Enjoy it!

Hi all,I am experiencing a little problem with an external FMC for LDS767 I am developing. I managed to edit panel.cfg to get rid of the Keyboard gauge, undock the CDU screen and move it to my small 5" TV (monitor #2 on my PC) and even developed a small VB application which programs (via Nico Kaan's superb FSCONV application) the FMC via data input from the RS232 port. So far, so good. But LDS767 demands that for every new flight who had it's fueling changed to open Configuration Manager and re-load the aircraft. There is where my nightmare begins: Even editing all panels.cfg files on the panel_options folder, whenever I re-load the aicraft (to have the new CG set) the CD…

Can anyone tell me if I can use the FSBus2 display card that the 7 segment leds are mounted on (because I want to use the smaller Kightsbridge 7 segments)with the classic FSBus Display controller? In other words, are the pin assignments the same on the 7-seg led cards.ThanksDavid

Hello all,Im very new at this home cockpit building stuff and have been thinking very seriously about building one(Not to expensive or fancy, just something to add a little more realism, plus the funds are sparse LOL)My first step is hooking up another monitor, which brings me to my question. Im using a 256 mb card and also have my onboard graphics controller which Im thinking of adding a monitor to it. First off, is a onboard chip capable of running a monitor for MSFS along with the one hooked up to the Nvidia and is there a special program I need to do so?Another thing I'd like to know is, for those that have multiple monitors, what do you put(as instruments or windows)…

I just got a email from Robert. Some of you know, the last hurricane that hit Houston wiped out most of Roberts Sim. I know he had to start all over.Robert wanted to send this message to you all: "I am across town with my family members, since the biggest problem with the last hurricane was I got separated from my family. I swam through 6 ft. waters, in the street, during that storm. So I don't fear this one. But I know a monster is headed out way. This may well be one of my last correspondences before the storm hits."I wish you all the luck Robert, please take care of yourself and family.

Now I need a interface for my axis etc. I have read many threads on many IO cards, but not to many about the "GP-wiz" from " groovy game gear ". The price looks ok if this card is what I need ?. Your comments will be appreciated .Thanks.

The enhanced SDK for Level-D Simulations 767 is released in the AVSIM library (look for "level-d_767_enhanced_sdk.zip").This is the new SDK that will ship with the LDS 767 SP2 to be soon released ! There is a backward compatibility, so the programmers can already use it to update their software interfaces, but you need the LVL-D 767 SP2 to get the new features working. This SDK brings also compatibility with Aerosoft's EFIS boxes. The owners of the MCP747/EFIS boxes will need an updated mcp747.exe that will be shipped with SP2.Note this SDK is released as this. No support will be provided.Laurent Crenier,Level-D Simulationswww.leveldsim.com

Hi all,a friend of mine gave me his broken laptop "to play" with. The main board is burnt so I thought that the LCD display could be useful for my home cockpit...if I knew how to "transform" it into a monitor. That's the point...I know that the power supply of the lamp and the lamp are working, I suppose (hope) that also the electronics of the LCD is working....so the question is:is there any chance to find how to drive the display so that it can be connected to a video card?Has someone of you guys ever done that?Regards,Bob

Hi all,a few days ago I found a simple scheme to build a 2 or 4 levers throttle using the game adapter port. Then I tried to connect 2 potentiometers (220 KOhm linear) to the pin 3 and 6 of the game port, taking the +5V from the pin 1.The potentiometers have the central pin connected to +5V (common for both pot.) and the left pin to the pin 3 (pot. #1) and pin 6 (pot. #2).I configured this simple control in Windows (XP) as a custom "2 axis - 0 buttons Yoke or Joystick" (<-- the translation could not be correct since I have an italian XP) and everything went good since I got the "OK" from the driver. Then I made the calibration and there I found the first problem: the lit…

  21. For those of you that are interested, I am replacing my EPIC overhead circuitry with... of all things, a Hagstrom Keyboard encoder.I'll keep people informed as to my progress. I understand there are a few folks lurking about out there that have tried to address this issue in the past without much success.I've tested a few overhead switches on the HagLP24 with promising results. Ghosting is eliminated by using switching diodes on each switch (Most switch matrices demand them... something that isn't really explained in any of the docs) Also, by using momentary switches instead of pushbutton types, I've pretty much eliminated the problem of the switches being out of sync wit…

Hello,As i'm flying this little toy since a few weeks i wanted to share with you my "Wood and Paper 737 panel project". It may present an affordable solution for some builder wich have two left hand and can't manage to build difficult parts themselves.Frame is homemade (as you all can see, yes i'm not a very "manual" guy), MIP is... wood with glued paper :) with a plexi on it.MCP is homemade too (iocards), that is the thing i'm the more proud of, i can't believe i did it, first time i was soldering something in my whole life.Yeah, rest of the stuff is GoFLight, no more time to build (building the MCP was too much work), time to play now !Oh yeah, and pedestal is on wheel,…
