  1. Hi everyone,For my 747 overhead functions I have 3 Goflight pushbutton modules and 1 toggle switch module.I ran into the issue that for example fuel buttons give a warning light first and then they need to be pressed.( Normally they go on/off when pussing the buttons or changing the toggle switch poisition )Luckily Pete Dowson has developed GF Display where every led or display can be programmed seperately from the switches/pushbuttons or rotary encoders. However this is something with a steep learning curve.Has anyone of you succeeded in trying this and if so could you give me a programming example of that ?Thanks for all help.

Hi everyone!I am just about to start working on a series of GoFlight-styled SAAB 105 panels. However, I hope I am not getting into something I can't finish. I have never done anything like this before, but I am really excited about it.I am planning on buying the Hagstrom KE72 with two breakers. I have a friend who works with creating signs and display casings, who will help me create the front panels and the casing for it all. So far so good. The soldering and the programming seems fairly simple, at least that is the impression I've got.I have very limited experience in soldering and working with electronics, though. Basically, I've just replaced a few broken components i…

Hi everybody,Maybe some of you remember my previous project (Cessna Look&Feel). Anyway, during January I started to build single seater B737NG with following result:http://joni.kuulalaakeri.org/misc/simmeeting002.jpgIt is not flyable yet but very close to that. While column is done I am ready to do first test flight. Some basic data: Frame and glare is my own design, MIP Panels and MCP from FDS and software from Project Magenta. Column is done by my builder fellow Jan Karling. A lot of things undone...I will keep you updated!// Joni

Hi,I have been building my 767 overhead utilising Nico's fantastic FSCONV.I am now playing with FSLCD and some of the variables.I have gotten the IRS unit setup with a 1x40 display that shows IRS lat and long, Wind speed and direction, etcI noticed on Nico's website that he switches between the Fuel and Wx displays on his LCD's via a switch on his glare.Any ideas on how to do this? I can't seem to figure it out.I am also trying to get the Duct pressure to display on a LCD (servo's and dial would be a little too hard - for now).I haven't been able to find any offsets from FSUIPC oir anywhere else.Am i missing something or are these variables not available to calculate, et…

Just as general information......I've recently been in contact with Dirk in regards to the use of common anode displays with FSBUS "classic", and the problem of the non-functioning last digit. Turns out pin 3(RA4) of the PIC is bi-directional, and when used as an output, it's a open drain configuration (just like open collector except it's a FET). A possible solution he proposed was to cut the line, add a pull-up resistor and emitter follower. I haven't tried it yet, but will post what I come up with for a final solution.

Hello all! I apologize to anyone who has not received a response from me for the last week or so. I just finished moving into a new home, and am REALLY excited to know have space to build. Living in apartments for the last few years has virtually killed "macro-level" construction. Unfortunately, I have been in the stone age for the past week or two with no internet, no TV, and no hot water :-( I am scheduled to have internet service again by the 13th, so please forgive me for being unable to rerply to messages until then.Best regards to all!Robert Pratherhttp://777simulator.com

Are you using mechanical trim wheel on CH Yoke for actually trimming an aircraft? In my case this wheel turns hard and unprecise and I designed my own analogue trim wheel connected to GamePort. What about you?

Hi all,I'm building a generic two propellers cockpit (using FSBUS) so I found two instruments from a real wrecked aircraft: one is a virosbandometer and the other one is a gyroscope with VOR indicator.I tried to open the gyroscope and I found there are two motors: one moving the compass quadrant and the other moving the arrow of the VOR indicator, both motors are connected to a board. My question is: is it possible to use those two motors directly with FSBUS servo board or stepper board instead of replacing them with servo RC?The gyroscope is reporting the following labels:SLAVED DIRECTIONAL GYRO-RMIIG-830AAircraft Radio CorporationBoonton, New Jerseythe 2nd label reports:…

  18. Hi,For those of you building a Level-D MCP with FSCONV and IOcards:I have noticed that it's not easy to define the outputs for the leds in the MCP buttons. You need to do some logival OR ring, which seem to be impossible in plain IOcardsSo to make your implementation life easier, I have defined 8 extra bits in the AFDS_FLAGS representing LNAV, VNAV, FLCH, HDG HOLD, V/S, ALT HOLD, LOC and APP. Go grab test version 2.25, just connect your leds and enjoy!See my website, page new!Nicowww.nicokaan.nl

Do you know how to assign a button (using FSUIPC or in any different way) to ARM, VS etc. buttons on KFC225 autopilot in Realair Scout or SF260 planes?Normal autopilot FS assigments of FSUIPC functions or offsets work partially with this unit (eg. AP, HDG, NAV etc. buttons), but I can't assign a button on my homemade GA panel to those important ARM and VS buttons.

A couple nights ago I saw on HG TV them remodelling a house and making it "airplane friendly". I think it was "Monster House" show. Basically they painted the living room walls sky and cloud colors as well as several WW II aircraft. They also replaced the fire place facade with a jet engine. Outside they had about 50' of a Delta 737 shell. Interior was mad up with a military theme, cockpit was well you know dressed up with FS, ch yoke and one of those professional IFR throttle consoles.I tried searching on hgtv.com for the exact episode, but it returned a ton of information on "airplane". Go check it out and get some ideas!

Thanks to all of you sim pit builders, I have been able to extend my joy stick, build rudder pedals and single throttle. My next step is to build a twin engine throttle, with prop and mixture levers. I have read many threads on this subject, but I am still not sure where the extra axis come from? I would appreciate any help in this area thanks.
