I'd like to make a set of seat rails for a recently acquired 727 crew seat. This is one of the original seats from the mid 60s with straight rails. To anyone who has OEM rails of this style or has successfully fabricated their own, I'd like to find out their dimensions: length, width at base, height and width of I-beam and size and number of holes to drill.I'm going to use aluminum extrusions and I'd like to find out these dimensions so I don't have to guess. Many thanks.Dennis

Hi All.I fly a noisy aircraft and the engines tend to drown out the ATC! I have tried putting the sound through a graphics equaliser to remove the bottom end of the signal - but it aint much better. Because I have a second audio feed to a powerfull amplifier, I can afford to reduce one output to 100% ATC - but how to split an output that has both engines AND ATC in the same feed???Any technical types out there that can help? At this rate, it seems that my choice is full authentic engine sound - or ATC - but not both!! Has anybody got a Go Flight GF ATC Headset module? It's supposed to split the sound up - but I don't think it can be any good?TONY. U.K.

Hello again!I prefer to have my USB yoke disabled when using "Slew". Rather than having to go to OPTIONS and mouse click CONTROLS, I thought that I would simply put a switch in the USB cable that goes from the yoke to the PC. Is there a make/break switch for USB cables? Any idea's anybody. I bet Yoss has a comment?TONY. U.K.

Hi Folks,Does anybody know how to display the flight planner without having to use the mouse - eg keyboard usage? It's bad enough that the cockpit displays shut down whilst I use the planner - without having to chase around the multimon cockpit to find it! Is it possible to display/hide the planner without all the screens going blank as well? What about an add-on that wont interfere with the flight?Hoping there's an answer.TONY. U.K.PS Many thanks to all those who helped me with my setting up problems that now seem to have been resolved. As you can see, I am now getting into the more detailed area's!

Hi folks,I did some coding today for my character LCDs and now I figured out how I can make use of the RAM of it to "upload" my own character set. It's limited to 7 though but for sim-use that's just perfect; cuz all I wanted to change are the original numbers which don't look so airplane'ish.Compare:These are the numbers as they are in the ROM of the lcds.http://users.skynet.be/porreke/oldfont.jpgAnd these are the ones I made today.http://users.skynet.be/porreke/newfont.jpgI already changed the 4 and 7 again. Their "legs" are longer now.Looking good, no ?

HelloI am all new to building things for my simulator, but I think that I'm ready to make a slow start. I would like, over the next couples of years, to build up a King Air B200 cockpit, but there are always the money question - which makes the ground for the slow moving policy :-). I therefore do plan to build in phases, where the first would be the radiostacks. This leads me to the first question:Does anybody knows if it is possible to find Collins equipment for the radiostack? I would rather not compromise my project from the beginning with using Bendix King Silver Line.....My plan was then to build the lower part of the MIP, so I could get all the contacts to work. Wh…

Hi, Everyone...I am in a bind. Ever since I decided not to use EPIC for my 777 overhead panel, I am have some trouble finding a robust solution to interface roughly 95 switches to the simulator.I have FDS 777 overhead panels, all fully wired to EPIC, but I do not want to tackle all the programming. I have hit my limit. I would rather re-wire the whole lot to a simple interface rather than deal with the idiosyncracies of EPIC.I am using PM's PMSystems software to drive the overhead on a dedicated system.I am going to use Phidgets 64-LED output module because it has grown more robust with the interface software and is fairly easy to implement. However, the INPUT side of Phig…

Hi All.Johan has told me how to hide/reveal (using ALT) the top menu bar so that I can fly in windowed mode without it showing if I wish. So far, I cannot find FS9 CFG to make the suggested alterations? Can anybody tell me exactly and clearly how to find it? I am using WIN XP. - PLUS how can I hide the "brakes" and "Pause" banners?I dont know how I have managed it, but in windowed mode with Parhelia and two extra monitors for undocked instruments - I am averaging over Chicago 50 - 60 fps and have just blipped over 100fps!!! If anyone wants my spec - say so.TONY. U.K.

Being cheap and not knowing any better I thought I would try to make my instrument backgrounds and switch labels using PShop, Wal-Mart, and basic handtools. http://photos.imageevent.com/dvds4bmx/cool...example/hdg.jpgNo, they are not backlighted, not many buttons in GA aircraft are. But I think we have a trick for backlighting (CHEAP) after we verify this method. (Decals/overhead film) You can see the results and my method here:http://fs-panels.blogspot.com/Using a blog because I can edit easier then here or a webpage, AND you can add you comments and hints either place. Howdy.Looks like I got the idea of SIOC-coding. I managed to hook up my gear lever and leds..http://tigert.com/aviation/vatsim/cockpit-...three-green.jpgI am starting to like SIOC a lot, it's pretty powerful thing! Only if Ferdie would hack it so that you could use real names for variables and not numbers, those make my head spin and cause unnecessary bugs in the code that are pretty hard to find sometimes.. But other than that it's pretty cool! FSBus has the nice graphical logic builder interface that I liked even more, but this is also quite neat, once one gets the idea. The event-based language is very nice.A snippet that connects my analog input 1 to ailerons: // Ai…

For the next build for my simulator I'm considering using the Go-Flight modules in the center pedestal for the radios.Unfortunately, these are a long way from looking like Collins or Gables head units so I was thinking of building authentic looking lightplates for them.I need to know how wide these units are if anyone uses these radios from this company. I don't seem to be able to find any way to contact this company to send an e-mail inquiry. They need to be no wider than 5.75" on the faceplate to fit the standard module bay in the B727, and there are two radios side by side. If these modules are too wide, then I'll get the kits they offer to build my own "Collins" radio …

I have one of the early 128mb Parhelia's, and have downloaded the latest drivers from Matrox but when I try to install them, I am told that the existent drivers are better? This is impossible because the one's in there now, are from the original CD? Does anybody know of a way of getting these new drivers installed without getting blocked. Is there another way in - or some trick as the current drivers are out of date! Here's hoping.TONY GERARD, Plymouth, U.K.
