Hi all,my project is progressing well.I am getting my panel laser cut and engraved, which looks really cool.I saqw on other sites, mentioning that using a white drawing ink in the engraving can make it stand out in 'normal' light.I have been looking for this drawingt ink, but cant seem to find it.Any suggestions on where I might ne able to find this (Not a specific shop, as I am currently in Singapore), and really what is it?I imagine its a really thin ink? What is the best method and tool to apply this to get the engraving looking good? I have played around a bit with paints, etc, but these tend to run out of the engraving and onto the paint. Thanks for any help.CheersChr…

Hi,So I bought the Displays II card, got it all put together, and have a bunch of LEDs.Can somebody explain how how to wire 2 or more 7-segment displays to it?I'm totally confused- I bought the 5 digit PCB board, and soldered 5 7-segment displays to it, but there are only 13 pins- I just don't understand how 5 displays, with 8 pins (40 pins) can be controlled by 13 pins on the PCB.Has anyone tackled this, and care to share and explanation/pictures?Thanks very much.

Some years ago, there was many topics and posts about Fsbus. These days, i noticed that only a few people answered in the thread with the new version of Fsbus.Do you still use Fsbus, or we are only a few people here? You don't have questions, problems with Fsbus to share with other people?Have you made the new version to work with blank displays? It's very quiet here about Fsbus :-(Please reply about FsBus ......ThanksEddie ArmaosAthensAthens-Greece

I had this question many weeks ago, but now reading another post, i will ask it:Which method is the best for make instruments : servos or steppermotors ? Where else can i use the one or the other?I have some old analog instruments or i could make my own (?), like 737Flaps and Overhead gauges, but i can't understand the difference between these two.thanksEddie ArmaosAthens-Greece

A new card IOCard USB Relays available in www.opencockpits.comhttp://www.opencockpits.com/images/USBRelays.jpgThis card can control up to 7 10-amperes/250-volts relays. There are two versions:1) USB version: connects directly to any USB port or, with a DB9 connector, directly to Master card. The card includes 5 8-bits analogue axles, and a selection jumper to set the power source that activates the relays.2) Reduced version: this one can only be connected to Master card, and doesn't include analogue axles. With this card controlling any high power device (motor, air conditioning, lights...) is very easy.

I have bought the Iocards USB stepper cards and are now converting original instruments from my SAAB Viggen cockpit. I have successfully converted IAS, heading and fuel. Awating 10 steppermotors bought on Ebay to be able to continue with the remaining instruments. Some will be modified with servos as well and I have ordered a USB Servocard also.More information (mostly in swedish) pictures and videos are available at http://www.novelair.com/forum

I got my master card soldered together, and just tested it for the first time and it works. I had to change the parallel port to bi-directional instead of ECP- is that normal? Ok, so it works...What is the power supply needed for? I noticed in the controller program that if I short an input+ground, it works with the power supply on or off. Is it only for outputs? Will it hurt anything if I use it with the power supply off?Are there English language versions available? I don't have "controller.exe", I have "controlador.exe". This is OK for now, but I have a feeling the language barrier may get tough as I get farther into it.

If you haven

Hi guysI made some dual rotaries based on the 12 steps rotary switches (according to the tutorial on opencockpits.com). Recently I acquired a bunch of rotary encoders (24 steps) that can be wired directly to fskey. Now I want to make dual rotaries based on these rotary encoders.I remember that I have seen pics that used 2 gears. Both encoders were beside eachother (and not behind eachother).Unfortunatly I cannot remember were I saw this.Does anybody has a link or a picture?thanksNorberthttp://home.wanadoo.nl/norbert.bosch/

Hi guys,i'm thinking of starting out in building my simulator but i have not decided on which boeing to build yet. The 737 seems common and parts seems readily avaliable but the 747 and 767 seems tempting too. but anyway. I'm planning to start out building the MCP first to try and see if i would make it building a simulator. I have a friend who studies aerospace electronics so i have him helping me with the soldering and stuff. However, i'm in a dilema in with parts to buy. I'm looking at either Phidgets or Opencockpits. I've been reading quite extensively but i still do not understand quite abit.hope you guys can help.Firstly, if i go Phidgets, here are the parts i think …
