Hello everyone,I am goinging to convert a trim panel. All three trim knobs (Roll, Taw, Pitch) come with two sides (for Yaw, upper and lower knob). Does different side control different trim surface? These knob operate like a switch with three positions. Left, center, right. It spring back to center position. Hopefully it is an easy unti to be converted. Will open the box tonight.Alkitwww.alkit.nethttp://alkit.fotopic.net

Hi FolksI was just wondering if anyone has built a Whiskey Compass and what would be the best method to drive it. I thought of a servo but it only rotates 180 deg. Or can you use a stepper motor? I would like to use my FSBUS system but I'm not sure of what to use? Can anyone help me with some advice? Thanks in advanceMike

My web site 'Boeing Cockpit Project' is updated after a long period of silence. A lot of new pages: - Overhead - Control Stand: Throttle handles and auto throttle mechanics - Software: about my own software for EPIC and Phidgets - EICAS And a lot of changes in the rest of the pages (almost every page was changed), for example new pic's of my MCP. http://home.hccnet.nl/r.v.d.wiele/index.htmlRegards, Rob van der Wiele

  5. I am experimenting with a prototype to make my own korry switches for my 777 overhead. I use a aluminium square frame of 20 x 20 mm and cut it in parts of 15 mm. Put a longitudinal part in it to bloch the light from the lower to the upper room inside the alu square. The back is closed, it is painted black. For front covering I use clear plexi, paint it on the backside and engrave it from the back (on - fault). One compartment will contain a white led and one a red led. This body of aluminium will be connected to a small momentary microswitch (see pic). The switch is hold to the panel about the same way as done by FDS.The switch has 4 pins 1,2,3, and 4. 1 is in connection (…

I am presently Messing around with keying up my FS2004 using the KE72 keyboard endcoder. I have no trouble compiling and getting the thing to work but being new at this, what do you do when FS2004 has no assisgn key to a specific duty. IE: Taxi Lights. I have tryed setting a key with FSUIPC but works fine on the keyboard but when I set it up in the encoder, nothing happens. The encoder works fine with natural coding such IE: Battery = N but doesn't seem to read the FSUIPC. Any help on this would be appreciated since I am new at this, thought this would be the best place to turn. Thanks, Hawk

I'm leaning towards building a sim flight deck versus building a homebuilt aircraft (for many different reasons)My question: I am a PMDG convert and now fly this aircraft exclusively. Does anyone have a simpit out there that flies the PMDG 737. I would love to hear the succeses/failures and complications associated with doing thisLook forward to hearing from you allJeff

Hi all,With the great help of Nico Kaan, I have managed to control the LevelD 767 almost entirely using my MCP and Pedestal FSBUS hardware. There are a few small issues remaining that I want to look at, and once fixed I will release the required offset definitions for FSBUS.It doesn't work 100% correct yet as some changes are needed into theFSBUS Router program and hopefully Dirk will find the time to apply them in the near future. But it does the job pretty well.I need to mention here that the FSCONV program of Nico is required so that the LevelD 767 can communicate with FSBUS.Regards,George DorkofikisAthens, Greecehttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/811520/1704.pnghttp://w…

Hello all simmers,I am curious what's inside the little box of the Dornier 728 landing gear lever. So I just open it up. I see the inside looks similar to the graph that other simmers post up before. Not too many wires (compare to other panels). So I tried to connect it to FS via a keyboard encoder (as a "G" key). It works!! Although this is not for my 747 cockpit. The excitment does encourage me to continue.http://alkit.fotopic.net/c513097.htmlThere is a push button with the word "NWS" next to it. Anyone know what it means?Next, I will try to hook up the 747 landing gear lever. I don't think it will be as easy as the D728. Because I can see only the UPPER side (gear down…

Hey all,I'm not sure if i'm even describing it right but i'm trying to find out where i can get the knob/rotary switches that are used in GA COM/NAV radios. Ya know, the kind that have an outer ring which tunes the upper frequency and the inner ring which tunes the lower end of the frequency? Some of them even have the inner knob pull outward to change add an extra 25kHz to the frequency.Anyone know the proper name for these things? A vendor? A distributor? Thanks,Chris

Looking at the various options for USB controller boards (mainly for the axes to convert a Suncom Talon stick and split throttle to USB - and add a couple of extra things)Looking at the MJoy board and Beta Innovations options as well as CH products stand alone board etc...Was wondering about the significance of 16bit axes versus 8bit, i.e. 1024 values against 256.Does FS and other sims recognise the higher number of steps or are they limited to 8bit values. The MJoy is currently at the top of my list because of the number of axes, buttons and low cost, and is 16bit anyway - but just interested.Thanks.
