Can someone give me the basics of how keyboard assigments work in FS or point me to a tutorial? I am trying to map some PMDG functions to buttons on my PFC flight console and am muddling through. I am curious though, about how these assigments work. I am getting caught up in how MSFS assignes keypresses, and then how PMDG assignes keypresses to enable functions like LNAV and VNAV. For instance, if PMDG uses a keypress number of, say, control + 78 to enable VNAV, my freeware keymapping program says that that 78 is in fact, a combination of shift and the letter n. Yet, I can assign this function to a joystick button by simply using the PMDG modifier (control) and the keyp…

Hello everyonejust want to share my happiness with other simmers. I receive some nice cockcpit parts today. Not for my 747 project, but collectible items. Although I know what's inside the parcel box when it came this morning. I still give it a WOW when seeing them. The 728 throttle is really really cool. The 228 throttle is not bad, especially with its tightiness adjustment function.I hope you enjoy the pictures.http://alkit.fotopic.net/c421630.htmlAlkit

Hi everybody. During the christmas holidays I started working on my panels, but had no camera then.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/105550.jpgThe panels have 3 layers. The first is standard paper printed with a (fairly accurate as I believe) draw made in corel. Under that I have 2 layers of black transparency legend (one is mirrored so that both are glued at the printed side and I have no problems touching it later on).Transparencies and paper are glued together and supported on a clear plexi. The holes on the plexi are cut out approximetely with a dremel tool, no need for accurancy as the paper and transparency covers everything.Finaly, I have put a sticky clear plasti…

HelloNew to home built cockpits and was wondering if this can be done. Can you use a monitor to give the jet panel view? This monitor would be placed where the panel would be in the jet cockpit. Also, can you use the above setup and have a projector showing just the outside view without any cockpit (w on the keyboard). The object is to have both running at the same time. I would need the panel to show just that without any black around the edges and the projector view showing the outside view without the panel. If this can be done it would sure save in trying to make a relistic panel piece by piece. Thanks for your help.Regards,Ed

I am experiencing a very small time lapse between the movement of the USB joy stick, and the control surface response? This can lead to a lot of confusion on finals! My stick is of a reputable brand and in good working order. I am not too technical, but wonder if FSUIPC, or something in FS will help? Anybody any idea's or suggestions?

Hi,I was told 737 rudder pedals are pivoted at the bottom and actually pedals move angularly and trace an arch. After learning this, i looked critically at the photos of the real aircraft and it seemed true as the opening in the housing through which pedals project out seemed to have curvature. Depending on the radius, they may seem to slide, but in reality they could be swinging around a pivot. So question i am wondering is - is it the same for 777 also? Or 777 rudders truely slide horizontally? thankssrini

Hi AllI was wondering if anyone had problems switching the audio of 'Com2' radio in FSBUS. I am running FSBUS v2.2.0.1 and FSUIPC v3.44 with FS9 and its update. Simulating the switching action in FSBUS I can switch all audio channels (ie Com1, Nav1, Nav2, DME etc) except for 'Com2'. It uses offset address of 0x3122 bit 6. If I change the setting in the INI file to 'I8' instead of 'BIT' and make a on value of 64 (for bit 6) then it works. But I need to get it working in BIT mode not I8. Very strange!RegardsMike Smits

Hi all,i just installed the P8R FMC and i have some questions:- Is it possible to load the flight plan in FreeFD ND when this is installed in a different pc from the fmc?- I noticed i must run FreeFD ND after exporting the flight plan from the fmc to make the ND reading it. Is there a way to solve this and make it updating while running?- Can i fuel the aircraft directly from the fmc fuel section ? It seems to be a read string onlyThanks in advance for helpDylan

Hi! I was connecting the FSBUS Interface modules of the 737NG Pedestal today and was DISAPPOINTED! Have the COM board behind he MIP and 2xDisplay/1xLED/1xKEY inside the pedestal box. The cable connecting the pedestal interfaces with the COM board is shielded and I have connected the shield to ground on the COM side. All other cables are ordinary flat-cable. Problem is that there seemes to be lots of electrical noice in the "system" when I connect the bus cable (approx. 1.8m long) connecting the COM and the pedestal interface boards.. Have another FSBUS Key interface in the MIP section and that seemes to be affected too (the test function shows lotsa quick signal changes)!…

Hi AllI am new with FSBUS. I was wondering if anyone can give me any advice on how to configure a TRANSPONDER such as what you see in a Bendix radio panel. What switches do you use to operate the unit with FSBUS. i.e. do you use 4 BCD encoders or normal rotaries or just plain old pushbutton switches. How do you program FSBUS?Thanks in advanceMike

Hi there,Maybe you have noticed too, that FDS is now showing a new production of the NAV, ADF and VHF-COMM panels for the 737.A picture is here.http://www.flightdecksolutions.com/_assets...s/361-large.jpgThey look nice, but what I thought was even better, was that the 7 segment displays are actually upright. I.e. not inclined such as most on the market today! So apparently they ARE being sold!Regards,Roel.

I have a panel where 9 screens should be fitted in.Problem is: they have a strange size, and I can't seem to find it.What should I do? Use larger screens for multiple screens? Like 17" for 2 screens?Problem then is: how do I fit them?Or does anyone know where I can get these TFT's and at what price?Size is about 9.5" but not completly correct, could be a little more or less, but I'll know the exact size soon!Picture: http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/104908.jpg
