Hi everyone,I'm having a problem I am trying to get fixed but no luck so far on 2 other forums so thought lets put the question out here who knows might get lucky.I rescently bought a phidgets card because other options I have tried so far require too much programing and that is something I lack knowledge off.Getting a toggle switch or a led to work with the phidgets card is no problem, but when I try to get an AML momentary switch too work is where the problems start.when pushed the switch works but when I remove my finger it goes out again ( looks like it needs 2 commands)on an other forum somebody mentioned I needed PM software for this too work and I have the software …

  2. I have a small cockpit using a KE72. All the switches work fine in default planes. However, I recently puchased the FSD Seneca and found that the switches don't work with it. Apparently the default key assignments do not work. How do you make it work with payware planes like the Seneca? Also, I remember months ago someone wrote on this forum about how to program the Haegstron KE72 so that the switches were synchronized with FS but I can't find it. Can anyone direct me to the information? Thanks for the help.Randall

I got this idea ..Why not ask MS to add a whole list of unused variables to their code. Like .. say "var001", "var002", ... , "var200".This way MSFS default planes won't use those but freeware/payware panel builders could store their panel data into those variables and provide us builders with a list ( var001 holds this data, var002 holds this data, etc) Then Pete could add those variables to the list of fsuipc and we would all be happy.Or would the creation of these variables in FS use up memory, while for most users (not-sim-builders) remain empty but still take up valuable memory ?Or perhaps it would be unhandy for the panel builders to use something like "var001" in…

  4. I'm still planning my system but am looking down the server/client route with several PC's and monitors.Anyone out there with multi-system setups, how do you manage with the power requirements? All plugged into one power strip, several, etc?In the UK, the domestic ring main is rated at 30Amps, a single fused outlet (plug) at 13Amps max. Now I know several monitors and a few PC's are not going to blow the fuses but they are all going to add up to several amps worth of current draw. Any recommended strategy for safe powering?

I thought I woould share some of the photos of my first attempt to mold my own K1 type switches. They still have to be painted and the PCB is not totally ready. (waiting for smaller tactiles). This is one switch shown with the parts, shown together and showm in the panel. These are custom built for the panel I purchased (20mm X 20mm cutouts).

Happy New Year to everyone. Now that the mind has de-fogged a little I am looking for some information on how to dismantle a CTX Panoview 540 monitor so that I can mount it in my MIP.I do remember seeing a post by someone in the UK who had done this but do not seem to be able to find it.Specifically I am wanting to know how to get the custom connection out of the base and adjustment arm. The stand has a standard 15 pin 'D' type VGA and power connectors, but when you take the stand off this changes into a custom connection to the main controller board. I have tried to take this apart but without success. I would love to be able to use this so that I do not have to mount the…

So we finished putting up the extra two monitors and mirrors for our sim. We have Parhelia and it works okay. It's not the coolest killer videocard anymore, but it is fast enough (the cpu is Athlon XP 2500+) - does the job. The benefit is that we dont need 3 pc's for this. Our sim now has a total of 3 collimated mirror units from Finnair's retired DC-10 simulator, those work reasonably well, there is a minor problem with the alignment since if we align everything to the pilot's head, the copilot will have large black bars in the view, and vice versa. Currently its aligned in the center, thus there are small, tolerable discontinuity in the view for both. But what makes this…

For those who are building the FSBus system in Australia, the AD Converter on the FSAD3 board is available here : http://www.futurlec.com/ADConv/ADC0838.shtmlhttp://www.futurlec.com/ADConv/ADC0838pr.shtmlIt's only $2.50 AUD. I bought mine from Farnell for $38.00 (Big Difference)I wish someone told me I could find them here at this price.David

A friend congratulated me for blowing up some of my ICs When i was playing around to get the decimal point on an 7-segment LED - for frequency - working the card suddenly stopped working. I guess i did something wrong... All was working perfectly before that, all LED's displayed the frequencies correctly :(Now i have a simple question (and hopefully a simple answer): What is the best way to debug a problem with the card? 1) Is it correct that the display card uses pin 1 and pin 2 to get current? 2) Is it correct to state that messuring volts on pin 1 of common cathode (on the display card) and pin 1 of the first display (on display card connector) should give 2 volts? &g…

people, hiI thought I'd make contact here before going too much further.I'm in the early planning stages of making a single seater cockpit. This is something I've wanted to do for a long time and now a change in personal circumstances has freed a lot of time for me. I know roughly what I can have space wise (2.3m long 1m wide) and I know what I can fit into that space. So I'm thinking I would like a stick flown GA aingle seater, the more complex to fly the better. I'm looking to build the inside of the cockpit realisticaly within the confines of space.Does anyone have any ideas of a suitabe craft?.Also I've lost a link I had to a site with hydraulics made from syringes, …

This may be a silly question but I was wondering for a while...How does a pilot and FO work with the linked controls such as rudder, elevator and aileron controls? Is there a switch that turns-off one side while the other is in control? or is it simply by protocol, one pilot will completely goes hands-off while the other has the control? If so, then what about accidental interferences? thankssri

Okay, some fun testing.. I was (like I wrote in the last thread) looking for something heavy to attach in the end of the lever for centering force, and figured a hammer with wooden shaft worked.. There's some additional junk strapped to it for testing purposes, since it needs more weight :))Here's a small animation:http://tigert.gimp.org/aviation/vatsim/coc...ff/yokeanim.gifThe stuff you dont see is a small washing machine suspension under the sim "floor" that stops the pendulum swinging pretty nicely. It's attached to the yoke pole underside.Still some rough edges, and lots of work to ponder (the aileron axis for example is not done yet at all) - but I can definitely say…

So, I had a brainstorming session with Joni (Lillebe) last night and we came up with an interesting idea that avoids springs and such altogether. How about this?http://tigert.gimp.org/aviation/vatsim/coc...t-centering.jpgIt needs a bit of explanation: The yoke is the usual "pole" model, then it has a stiff "pushrod" horizontally (like PoRrEkE's Fokker 50 yokes have for the dual-action movement - similar pushrod that goes under the panel)Under the panel there is a large pendulum-like thing - at the bottom of the panel (my panel started as a desktop thingy, so it has a "floor" of 14mm plywood) there is a heavy-duty metal hinge that is connected to a block of wood or metal th…

GreetingsI am nearing the completion of my FSBUS radio stack and need some help!!!!For "tuning" in my "stack", I use 2 phase encoders (Alps) & Redac circuits. I'm using the windows version of the FSBUS router and everything appears to be normal. When I change the transponder code in MSFS, the display works fine (with the exception of the last digit (least significant digit) as I'm using common anode displays). I've set the 4 encoders to count 1000, 100, 10 and 1 respectively. However, when I try to change the transponder code in my "stack", the code counts up and down in VERY ODD steps!!!! Does the transponder in FSBUS count up and down in "base 7", or something weir…
