Hi Everyone,I have asked this question on diff. forums and with no luck so far so I would like to make a deal with anybody who does have any knowledge in this area.I own diff. interfaces (Epic,Iocard and Phidgets) the last 2 I can somehow work with and understand the first one is the problem.I would like to use the Epic to make my MCP function for various reasons and one is I have bought blue leds (anode) at the time which do not work with the other 2 cards and it would be great if I could use them for this purpose. The deal is if anybody could help me out making these cards work for me with pictures on how to setup and help me programming it I would gladly help in anyway …

Hey everyone,I thought I would share a few pictures of my favorate sim.The Siai Marchetti SF260.I have always been into the FS2004 sim and when I came across the SIMKIT web site....well let's just say I had to try to make a sim of my favorite plane. My shipments of parts have started to arrive and I will soon post some pictures with gauges going in. I really like the Garmin 530 that fits perfect on my 7" monitor that I installed in the panel. I used Catia software to design the sim and constructed it from 3/4" plywood cut into frames and covered it with .040" galvanized metal flashing (13')which is used for roofing. I then used 1/8" aluminum pop rivets (300 of them) t…

Guys and Girls I have a CNC Machine for Sale that I bought on E-BAY about 2 years ago it is fully functional and it has barelly been used!! I think I cut twice with it due to lack of time!! It will include the machine which I can post pictures of which has barelly been used, the controller and the software which was bought with the machine, I will also include a ROTOZIP router which is amazing tool for cutting and some bits I have, plus the MAX-NC manual that came wiith the machine... You simply plug it in to your Printer port draw in autocad or any software that supports DXF. file type use the included CAD TO G-CODE converter and you cut your parts!! I wanted to use this…

Hi Guys,I see a few companies building hardware for this aircraft. I was wondering if any of these companies are looking into the posibility of creating a plug and play setup. For example: A pre-assembled 737NG overhead. I've seen it (plug and play) for the throttle and FMC.The reason I ask, I want to create a 737-800NG cockpit. However, I do not have the skills required to build, and wire the various components. There was also a company overseas that built fiberglass cockpits as well as a framing kit, are they still around?ThanksMike

I just got started with this cockpit building stuff, and I bought an IOCARDS master card to play with. So far I have it connected to the PC, I can use the controller software that comes with it to read inputs and toggle outputs. When I fire up FS2004/FSUIPC I can't see any updates on the software. Is this maybe because FSUIPC is unregistered? Also, what is an easy function I could test for an LED output?? Something like pitot heat switch or NAV1/NAV2 select......What else....... let's see......Oh yeah, anyone building in the Tampa, Fl area???? Where do you get parts??? I am VERY experienced in electronics and programming, and I have a great source for getting PCBs made ch…

I came to think (and I think it has crossed my mind before) ..I get the impression lately that there is a real struggle here. Some folks would do anything to get a 100% true copy, while others chose for somewhat more generic and get 100% functionality. Now .. which one of those 2 is the most fun ?This makes me think that maybe I should do a somewhat futuristic version of the F50 cockpit.Perhaps even if Fokker hadn't gone down, it would produce F50's now with glass cockpit .. ? F70's with a more advanced glass cockpit .. ? Who knows.I am concidering changing the plans and do the entire cockpit as real as possible with exeption of the MIP. I've seen the Fairchild Dornier…

I don't remember if this has been mentioned here before, but if you want a fairly cheap 5" LCD for a GPS display etc, here's a link to a three page article telling you how to convert a PSOne gaming LCD:http://www.bit-tech.net/article/136/1I just bought one off eBay for about $50 (including shipping (check each auction's rates closely!)I'm torn between using it as a GPS display from an extra video card, or using it as a backdrop to an avionics stack (for freqs behind a mask).Hope it helps someone!Kevin

Wondering how many of you out there are building CRJs.. and if we could pool our resources where measurements, tips, tricks and spots for parts could be found (maybe get something set up on the web as a one stop shop for folks like us?)I've chosen to go with FDS panels with a Horizon throttle quad and yoke at this point (it may change, who knows - it's a few years long project :) ) and I'm currently trying to decide which to purchase first, the MIP or the MCP. Also looking around for dimensions and trying to score some PR time in a sim so I could take my own..If you're interested in sharing what you know, drop a line here and we'll get the ball rolling..

Does anyone here have any experience with the new boards being offered by GoFlight? I'm looking for a usb interface solution for a helicopter simulator and have come across the GoFlight RMK TQ6 board which will accept up to 8 pots and 4 switch's. Could this be used as the primary X,Y,Z, Throttle, Collective, Rudder input? CH has given me a quote on a custom USB board for 5 axis - 8 button but the cost for the first one will run $175.00+ with each subsequent board running in the $110.00 range. Seems GoFlight has one that is close to the same with more axis and fewer switch's. But for about the same price I can go with a GoFlight TQ6 (8 axis + 4 Switch) and a T8 (8 switch's…

Well, Airbus has rolled out the A380... anyone started their cockpit yet? :-)As an aside, a couple of airlines have pushed back their delivery dates for the 380's they've ordered, due to delays in several major US airports putting in the twin-level jetways that'll be needed for the plane... rumours of course are swirling that US Gov't pressure is causing these delays to help Boeing... the scandal regarding the "fixed" bid process for the new USAF tankers still being fresh in everyones minds.Richard

I am currently using a TM FLCS and TQS for the Boeing 727. I have modified the TQS into a B727 throttle quadrant using the electronics and mechanicals from the TQS.My problem is the stick. It's time to switch to a yoke and TM doesn't make one. I am considering the CH yoke with the traditional gameport plug to use with the TQS electronics. I've written both CH and TM and each of the companies (naturally) do not know if their products are compatible with the other.Has anyone here succesfully mated a CH product with a TM product and actually had them work with each other with no conflicts?I realize that I would have to plug the keyboard directly back into the computer as the…

Two new cards are available at Opencockpits. The USBKeys card is a keyboard decodifier that can handle with 88 keys. It's directly connected to the USB port.http://www.opencockpits.com/images/USBKeys_l.jpgIt includes two types of controllers: the first one lets this card be connected to any IOCP server (SIOC) sending the pressed keys as values of an IOCP variable; the second one works independently as a keyboard emulator that sends each keystroke in our hardware as a PC keyboard keystroke (or combination) really suitable to be used with (i.e.) Project Magenta. In addition it's fully compatible with Flightdesksolution's CDU through it 40 pins connector.(pin to pin compatibl…
