Yup - I'm not happy - I've been slicing, and dicing my fingers trying to pull apart these silly rotary decoders - the ones with the four clasps. I'm sure there must be an easier way than trying to force screwdrivers underneath them.Any ideas?

The question is regarding backlighting my quadrant and the Glareshield etc.If I use led's to backlight switches and text, how many leds can I run off of the one position on FSled. If I can only run 1 led on each position, can I assign multiple positions on fsled to the one switch or (Nav lights).Or, is there a simpler way to do this if let's say it takes 20 odd leds to do the lighting. (There's probably 10+ just on the quadrant)Thanks for the help as alwaysDavid

Well it's been a while since I've complained, but I did that about the rotaty decoder, so I thought I better write something positive as well.Well after saving up some money, I decided it was time to start working on something tangible, and for me it was the nav radio on the mcp of the bae.It has an active, and standby, as well as a switch to toggle the two, and would normally have a concentric rotary for the radio - I'm actually just going to use two decoders, so there will be 3 - I need to work out what the other decoder does.Anyways - I have filled up one display board (6 outputs - either 5 or 3) but can't seem to get the decimal point to work - I vaguely remember it w…

  7. Hi all...I have made a 12 position switch for my pitch trim. It flashed fine in FSBUS and the switch works. For some reason it won't make the pitch trim wheel work in FS2004 so I'm not sure I have the settings right in software. How should I set the settings and what FS destination should I pick ?Also I am using a 100k pot in FSAD for my 3 position flaps on my king air. The pot values are 16383, 14820 and 12480 in each flap position. What settings should I set for:MultMax ValueMin ValueOffset ValueCenter ValueCenter WidthDestination: FS.Standard. FlapsThanks to anyone who can offer me some advice...many thanks...JB

  8. Now *I* need the help! I need to be able to talk to FSUIPC offsets directly from EPIC. The overhead panel utilizes so many switches that using Direct Input makes this task near impossible.EpicMapper used to be a good tool, but they are no longer in existance. Some research last night revealed something called FS Communicator, but I'm not quite sure that's what I need yet...Is anyone aware of any methodologies in getting EPIC to talk directly to FSUIPC using EPL code or perhaps some middleware app?

Hi all,Anyone programming EPL with EPICenter ? I've got a slight problem.I can't seem to set an LED on thru my Output Module. I'm using an EMDA 2.0 card and it's Red power LED is on showing that 12v is getting to the board. My 2xLED annunciator works when I short the ribbon cable row 3 with row 1 (+12V), so that's not the problem. It's either the Output module itself or the new EPL programming syntax. Good Doco is a little scare wrt the new EPICenter syntax.Has anyone got a code snippet to show how to turn on an LED through the Output Module using an EPICenter EPL procedure ? I've attached my .epl and .hlp code. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong ?Does anyone know whe…

Wow - nice feeling to control simulator without mouse and keyboard. Next step is to install it in cockpit.Updated my site with a video showing test flight with MCP.

Hey Y'all, I'm in the planning stages for a P-51 simulator cockpit like the Spit Pit here:http://simhardware.org/index.htmlhttp://www.bob-ma.org/modules.php?name=For...03760cd3862c918Is there anyone out there with information on the B5 stick grip used in the P-51? The stick seems a logical place to start the project. I wish I could afford a real grip from Warbird-parts.com, but $235 is a bit much :), so I'll be building one. I have a few photos from the net, but I need measurements, a front view showing the trigger, and (if I'm allowed to dream) an photo of one dissassembled to show the mounting of the trigger and thumb bottons. Also, what did most USAAF WWII pilots do abo…

Hi everyone, Im a new 737NG cockpit builder and I was just wondering if anyone has heard any info regaurding aircraft simulator products. Also, whether or not their panels and hardware are compatible with Flight Deck Solution products ( mainly the MIP) . I was also looking for a good tutorial (prefferably aimed at the first time builder) on building, populating, and interfacing the MIP for the FDS 737NG.Thats all, Thanx Pete, "future 737NG builder".

Hi all,I have a bunch of rotarys that put out the following code across three pins. There are three posts, with the center post being common. So with each turn, I get this:1 | 2========1 | 00 | 00 | 11 | 1I assume this is grey code(?) Will FSBUS read these switches or do I need some other kind? If so, can someone direct me to some documentation on how to program/connect them?As always, all advise is appreciated!

I am particularly interested in the dimensions of the cockpit interior and placement of the instruments, also on left and right side of the pilot and co-pilot. I am researching the possibility to build a life-like Lear 45 replica cockpit for use with FS2004. Hope anyone can help...Thanks in advance, Jack

I have been working on rudder pedals for my T-39 that reflects what real rudders look and feel like in a fighter. After much trial and error, I have something to show. The pictures are one of the pedals. You can see the brake set up in the side view. The compression spring has a spring rate of 18 lbs and reflect the feel of actually pressing the brakes. When I get them hung to the support assembly, which I still have to build, I will post more pictures. The assembly should be adjustable and feel like genuine rudder pedals in a fighter jet. I will be adding some cosmetics to make them look like the pedals in the T-38.John

Since we are building actual flightdecks and do not need any panels rendered in the simulator displays, is it possible and if so is there any advantage to removing all Panels, (VC and 2D) from the FS9 Aircraft...and running with just the Model and Sound? Can it be done or will the sim not work if panels are not present? Can you turn them off so they will not suck up any video resources?

Hi all,I'm a FSBUS user in my 737 home cockpit, i have 3 key cards, 2 led cards, 1 A/D card and 12 display cards. It happens SOMETIMES that with a key pression i get also one or more key pressed from the same key card.Exemple. I push the HDG button and i get HDG, and another or more keys pressed.I finally found the problem but i can't fix it: everything works ok if i don't connect the A/D card. When i connect it, i get the interferences in the key cards. The key cards have CID 1,2 and 3 and i tried to change the A/D card CID from 4 to 7 but the problem remains.I just checked in FSBUS A/D card documentation and found to use only PIC 16F84 A type in A/D cards while i'm using …
