Hi!I'm on the hunt for buttons to use in a B737NG MCP. I know Korry has the originals for sale, but not to the price anywhere near a normal human beeing can afford. Is there anyone who knows an good alternative to these buttons, available to the public? What buttons are used in the MCPs for sale by for ex. CPFlight and FlightDeck Solutions? Here are a picture of the buttons I'm talking about:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/93596.jpgRegards,Daniel Mattssonwww.swesim.se

I have hunted around for a simple way to make back-lit panels without using a cnc mill to engrave the lettering into plexiglass or perspex as it's called in Australia.I am looking for a way that is simple. The lighting is not the question, it's purely just making the panels. If anyone has tried different methods, I'd like to hear about them.I know this is a big question for all builders, maybe we could pool our knowledge and come up with a simple process.Look forward to your responses.David Australia

Are there any experienced AutoCad users out there? I was going to draw a panel (I.e. center, overhead, main glare or etc) using AutoCad 2000 program. then print it, then lay them out. I have the diameter of each panels but not the scale. So would anyone know the standard scale for each panels? would that be 1:0 1:5? please let me know

Hi... I dont know if anyone here would have any use for a pedal/yoke set. The pedals need the most repairs... Mainly the right toe brake doesnt work, and the rudder function needs to be manually calibrated. Everything is still there and somewhat intact, but in taking it apart, I wasnt able to get the springs mounted. I also wasnt able to get the toe brake functioning by re-attaching the broken tire. The yoke is functioning 100%, but the clamps are gone. For someone who would know how to either fix these, or could use the parts, these might be a good deal. I'm looking for at least $50... $100 would be preferred, but I'm open for negotiations. Buyer will pay for shipping as…

Hi anyone know what is the correct size (height) of 7 segment displays used in the MCP of B777. Also wondering what color they are? thankssrini

Take a look at [A HREF=http://www.ft.bs.dlr.de/flugsystemtechnik/activities/3/1/inhalt_e.htm]this[/A]. Now that would be pretty cool to include in some sort of cockpit. Simpit builders attempt to come up with better cockpit designs than the major aircraft manufacturers anyone? :)

Ok, to some out there, it's not going to be all that great, but after all the disappointment of things not working, I finally got my display board on FSBus working, hooked up and got the heading working on the display.Boy was I rapt. What I think this means, is there is something wrong with my Key board as the switches etc aren't working, and it's obvious that the Com3 board is working. As a side note - both of these boards (display & the board with the 7 segments) were homemade over the weekend. That's right - I was the one who was saying how hard they were - well I'm doing a complete 180 turn - and saying it's easy.My problems were I had the etchent too hot, and leavin…

In the real 777, the MCP displays have small letter indicators, such as ALT, HDG, etc, beside the actual value. These letters are small. Project Magenta also displays these on the MCP. How would you set it up so that these would display on the hardware MCP display? Would it work with an LCD display, which you can buy from SEIKO -- graphic dot matrix LCD? Any ideas?Alan

Hello everyone,I know this has been talked about before, but I would like to know how most people have made PCBs for FSBUS. I have read through the different post about various methods and I have tried the toner transfer idea, but the traces (ink) tend to melt together when they are close together. Does press 'n' peel work better? What is the best method? Does anyone make them in the U.S.? Thanks

Ok, I'm stuck. I'm trying to see the contents of PigeonHole 151 (Rudder trim value) and there appears to be nothing in that PH.Has anyone else experienced any success with this particular PH? All the other ones work (A/P values, radio values, etc...) but when I get to 151 (EPICINFO.DOC from P. Dowson), there's just nothing thereEquipment:EPICUSB, latest and greatest EPICenter version, (1.0.7?) latest FSUIPC, EPICINFO.DLL, EPICIO.DLL, WideServer.DLL...Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Hi all,If I can disturb your flying/soldering activities for a second....Is it possible to have key controllers CID 1,2,3,4?1,2,3 work fine, adding 4 precipitates more drama than trying to get into shape the day before an aviation medical exam.I have found old threads dealing with this issue, but no clarity has emerged as to why this "funny" exists. Is there a solution? RegardsBrendonPS: See my recent post on "Rotaries missing beats" for the full sad story. I elected to repost under a title nearer the point.

For the overheard analog guages, like APU etc, I have a few questions.1) Where can you buy these guages.2) What input systems are able to control moving guages and link them to PM systems?ThanksAlan

Hi,Being in progress with my electric "Control loading" for the pitch attitude I have read a bit about the configuration of the servo with the Iocard software. I am very confused since all tutorials I have seen are related to an IOCP protocol using a IOCPGauge program. DO I really need that protocol??Is IOCARD not able to drive servos without IOCPGAUGE??I would just like to link it via FSUIPC using the ELEC_TRIM_DN and ELEV_TRIM_UP controls. How may I proceed.ThanksRoger

It seems that there is an issue when using IOCARD USB EXPANSION with Windows 2000.It seems that it is the default USB driver. Does anybody habe an experience and -who knows- solution?ThanksGreetingsRoger

Upon adding an additional key controller to my embryonic home cockpit, I find that the "update rate" of existing rotaries is too slow to use. When moving a rotary rapidly anticlockwise, it seems to miss steps and even reflects a clockwise motion at times. A bit like the wgan wheels appearing to roll backwards on old western movies.I recall reading an earlier post on this issue, but I can't seem to find it.I had 3 x key, 3 x LED, 3 x display controllers all working fine until adding the fourth key controller. Removing the fourth controller makes the problem go away - repeatably.I have a 2.4 GHz P4 512 MB RAM, FS9. Any suggestions?

I'm running the ATI Radeon 9800 128MB and two NVIDI PCI cards in a 3-monitor setup. I use the Radeon for my main instrument panel view and use the two other PCI cards and monitors for overhead, throttle, FMC, etc.The ATI Radeon card I'm running has a secondary adapter on it in which you can plug in another monitor. I do not use this (for obvious performance reasons). However, every time I boot up, one of my screens for Monitors 2&3 comes up blank since the secondary adapter is trying to find a monitor attached to it. I have tried disabling the secondary ATI adapter but the problem still persists. My only rememdy is to delete the secondary adapter on the System/Har…

Hey everyone,I've decided I want to build a 777 'pit, and I've done a bit of looking around, so I know its going to cost a bit, and I work on the principle that if its got to be done, it should be done properly. ie. I'm looking for as much realism as I can get and trying to ignore my bank manager screaming down the phone!!I went to Flight Deck Solutions, Project Magenta, and Pro MFD (http://promfd.cjb.net/). As far as I can tell thats all the displays and panels (switches, knobs, lights etc.) done. I'm sorting a shell out myself, but what else do I need? For example, MCP, the actual computer part of the CDUs, and so on.For the visual system I was thinking about using 5 pr…

Hey, Does PM autoland work perfectly like PMDG? Important for me when landing in poor viz. I love the accuracy in PMDG. I would hope that PM has similar performance given its price.ThanksAlan

Does anybody out there know what is going on with AircraftSimulators.com (formerly AGT) ??? All of a sudden it seems their website has disappeared and has been replaced by a notice that they are "updating" their product offerings. I was planning on buying a set of overhead panels from them...FlyBoy Phil
