Hi folks, no update on the site doesn't mean there's no work going on.1) Espen is working on new gauges so that I can extract more data from his panel than just the usual FS variables via fsuipc.(will make big difference)2) I am working on the LCD thing which in my view .. should make the boat rock a bit if I can get this to work cuz I am seeing more and more benifits of this every day3) I am working on my own software-analogue-gauges (PM style). Then engines should come out fine (I figured out how I can draw images with VB.Net so ..) Once that finished, I will see how much work/time it would take to get the real glass gauges out of FS like this as well.IF this gauge th…

First of all, let me say that this is a 100% unsolicited message, and Mike knows nothing of it :-)I received his book "Building Simulated Aircraft Instrumentation" and have been reading through it since I got it. I am very impressed at the level of technical detail that is represented. And it is presented in a manner that is very easy to understand. The format is such that, if you are attempting to build a specific instrument, you can turn to that chapter and see how to construct it step-by-step. That is WAY easier than having to read through an entire book to figure out how one task is done. The techniques are easily used for other areas of the aircraft, and clears up a l…

Hi folks,Has I said in a earlier thread, I just got a old projector. It works well except that it is a 640x480 resolution, I can force Windows Xp to work in 640 x 480 resolution and use FS2004 in window mode, but I get all those borders and since my second screen must be align in the holes of my panels, I have to play with windows position to get it right. In FS2004 settings I don't see a 640x480 resolution where I could use to sim with in full screen mode.Is that resolution no longer supported or is there some "trick" I could do to make it appears. Thanks

Hi All, Does anyone have a definitive list of the switch types used in a 737NG overhead? What I'm after is, for each switch: Number of positions (2 or 3) Locking or non-locking (for each of the 2 or 3 positions) Momentary action (for each position, where applicable) I can work much of this out just by looking at cockpit photos, and using PMSystems, but a definitive list would be a superb help. Thanks as always to all, Chris

Howdy.I just realized a gas spring on a normal office chair, when adjusted to middle position, will both center the spring and also has a spring force on both directions which appears to be pretty equal on both directions..This might work for yoke and pedal centering, right? Has anyone tried this? It would avoid the "two springs cancel each other" -problem of building special mechanical linkages and would allow a very simple construction if it would work..Thoughts? Any idea how much those cost as spares?//Tuomas

Just learned in school that there once was an US-army-dude that thought to be experimentive for a change. He wanted to measure his internal resistance with a MMeter.9VIf you take 90 Ohm for blood that's already a lot.9V / 90 Ohm = 100mAThat's enough to make your heart fibrilate. He made a holl in fingers from both hands and put the pins of the MMeter in them...Don 't try this at home :(

Hi Everybody,I'm building up FSBUS system. I finished FSCOMM,FSKEY and FSLED.FSCOMM and FSKEY boards are working with no problem. I can flash FSKEY PIC and succesfully passed the test. But I've problem with FSLED. My problem is, I can't get enough voltage as an output for LED. I'm always getting 1,13 volts as an output. Can't get 1,5 volts as an output voltage. Without this everything looks great. I did the voltage test for PIC. Everything looks perfect but what ever the reason is, I can't get enough voltage. Nearly I changed every component, except 47uf condanser. Can it be the solution of my problem, I don't know.Does any one have any ideas ?

Does anyone know if Simavionics has started moving on the numerous request for a 737 throttle quad? Currently I am in the R&D stages for a 737NG type throttle quad, thanks to the numerous resources on the web, and especially from those who have sent me diagrams, plans, dems, and what not. The 767 quad looks to be of such high quality that it is almost enough for me to reconsider building the 767 instead!Any news is appreciated!Eric

Greetings...First phase of small home cockpit completed. Too bad I don't a digital camera to show you some fotos.Custom made MCP in 737NG motive, pedestal with both COM, both NAV and transponder.During my first test flights, always with the default 737 panel while waiting for ANY good panel to support FSUIPC control, I encountered some issues. Not really problems, just issues.1.One is that even though I send the correct value to the correct FSUIPC offset to turn on the APP mode on the autopilot, the (default crappy) autopilot just captures the Localizer and simply ignores the glideslope no matter what. It's like I had engaged the VOR/LOC mode instead.2.While waiting fo…

Hi AllJust sharing my recently completed compass with you...its not operative...just eye candy but helps with the realism factor.Built from bent up aluminium sheet, some 2mm ply, 4 rivets, 4 phillips head screws, a small tin can. The "rose" done on MSword, bent in a semicircle and glued to a balsa mount. This was then fitted inside the tin, the inside of which was painted black. A perspex piece was fitted behind the face... I put a tiny groove in the perspex and painted this white for a hairline marker.I was happy with the result and in reality it looks better than the photos.

Here's an idea I just came up with whilst cleaning up the kitchen...For those who make their own PCB's, a bubble etch tank is rather appealing for even and quick etching. However, since most of these cost lots of money, and making one seems too much effort, I decided to make my own. How to do it, I wondered... I decided I needed a plastic tub that was large enough, and the correct shape. Tupperware tubs always seemed to be the horizontal type, and seemed great for using as trays as you can seal them solution in the tub. A vertical one was what I was after, but I didn't recall seeing any, until I went to load the washing machine and noticed the tub my missus has bought. It…
