Hello to allI am trying to make the fsbus pcb's with a cnc machine. For that I hav to have the files in .dfx format (or .cad format). The FSBUS package contains gerber(.grb), postscript (.ps) and gif and .drl (?) format. For PCB design I have EAGLE, but that sw can not import grb format.Does anybody has experience with this? It would also be nice if I could change things on the PCB somewere in the converting proces in EAGLE, for example change the 7 segmants leds to another size. Thanks for any help.Norbert Bosch

Hi Everybody,I'm a cockpit builder like you all ;). By the time I've started to build my panel, I learned lots of things. The most thing that I haven't found, the values that should be added in xxIF.INI file in order to control other things in cockpit :-hmmm :-mad .So now, somehow is it possible to publish a xxxIF.INI file and combine all the different things, you all used in your cockpit simming.I think that, it will be a valueable file, for the peoples who starts new to cockpit simming :):-wave :-newbie

In SquawkBox 3 (SB3) there will be a possibility to control ModeC/Standby and Ident transponder settings via buttons in cockpit and FSUIPC.More info here:http://www.squawkbox.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=471 http://www.squawkbox.ca/ -> Plug Ins -> SquawkBox and FSUIPC

Hello everyone, Im Pete from Rhode Island, Ive been simming pretty steadily since FS98, and I am now ready to pursue my dream of an enclosed 737NG sim, I'd say Im nearing the end of my research phase and I am dying to order my first product. Through hundreds of hours of reviewing forums and websites I am lead to belive that the MIP would not be a bad choice( I think). You see, I think Ive solved my initial problem of trying to build a house without knowing whether to pour the foundation or do the plubming first ( bad analogy perhaps ). But I still face a serious problem. My programming skills are adequate at best(fast learner though) and I basically have no knowledge on t…

Hi,you may find here:http://neu.nutzer-hotline.de/Brett/index.phpIt is a kind of Flea Market for Simpit builders. You have several categories, to sell, looking for, exchange and even one for objects to give away before you decide to put it into your tray. The site is german (run by fellow cockpit builder Markus Wolgang) but supports multilanguages. Please do not hesitate to put on the list all items hanging around arround your cockpit and which could make happy other builder (before putting it on Ebay).Greetings to all,Roger

Hallo,I am flying the PMDG737 aircraft exclusively and decided to expand the realism of my simming by adding some extra hardware to it.I am currently using the setup consisting of Ch Yoke USB and Pro Pedals and so far had no major complaints about it.What I am looking at is adding three critical pieces of hardware:- standalone CDU for the FMC, preferably with EFIS control panel- MCP - mode control panelIn the second phase I would be looking at adding a radio stack and a throttle pedestal with flap and spoiler levers.I understand that the Project Magenta is the software of choice to combine those above, but the question I'm asking is is there a way to get the hardware as l…

Hi all, I built my own home cockpit using Fsbus hardware interface. I have 2 key cards, 2 led cards, 16 display cards, and one A/D card. All works ok except some interferences in the key cards JUST SOMETIMES. When i press one key or turn on one switch, SOMETIMES it happens i get more key presses from the key cards. Can it be a power supply problem? I recently switched to a bigger power supply with more amperes but the problem remain. I flashed the key card pics again and it's alwais the same. Is it maybe a known bug of the Fsbus router or maybe in the Key pic firmware? Does anyone have the same problem? Thanks in advance for help Dylan

Hello gurus,I have an intricate question for ya. I have an Altec Lansing ADA885 surround system. The problem is that it was bought in Europe meaning it is marked for 220V/50Hz voltage. As I have moved to Canada I can only get 115V/60Hz power supply.I took apart the amplifier/subwoofer unit and the inlet circuit is connected to a toroid core transformer with three secondary coils. Parallell with the primary is a varistor connected. I guess for shunting voltage surges and blowing the fuse which is connected between the power supply and the varistor/transformer. My guess is +5V and +-12V on the secondary sides. No type markings on the transformer unfortunately. Would it work…

AKA: www.a340project.us ?I met Matt in Denver and volunteered to assist him with his EPIC system. We exchanged emails for a few weeks then he just stopped, which is odd, because he was incredibly happy to finally get his EPIC system working. It's just a bit odd.If anyone has any information, please let me know so I at least know he's ok.Thanks,

My cockpit project is in the basement, with 7.5 ft ceilings. The projector needs 13 ft to fill the screen, and I feel that about 6-8 feet would be the optimal seating distance. It's difficult with the low ceiling to mount the projector high enough to fill the screen without either hitting my head or the top of the instrument panel. I've been thinking about trying to use mirrors to redirect the display. In a front projection world, I'll need to use two mirrors. What have you folks done to accomplish this? My inital efforts were less than stellar accomplishments. One of the problems is that the image expands very rapidly, and as the angles increase, keystoning becomes a pro…

Hi Everybody,I have some problems of Rudder trim,Aileron trim and IAS/MACH on FSBUS system ? 1.Is there any one who knows how Rudder Trim and Aileron Trims works on FSBUS? I've created a Display to observe the changes on RUDDER trim and Aileron Trim while I was trimming on FS. But I can't see any changes on this values. I used " FS.Standard.Aircraft Control.Rudder " as a destination of Rudder trim and " FS.Standard.Aircraft Control.Aileron " as a destination of Aileron Trim.So how can I control the Aileron and Rudder Trim ? Also Is it better to use knitter or pots for these controls ?Thanks for All

I'm finally getting serious about building a home cockpit & I have spent a considerable amount of time in the forums & in hundreds of websites dedicated to home cockpit hardware & software. Nowhere yet have I found a single place where someone starting construction of a home cockpit would have some sort of a guide of where/how to start. The more I read, the more confused I seem to get since there are so many hardware & software options available today. My

I realise that the leds must be used in the correct direction, what happens if I have them the wrong way - will it blow anything or will they just not light?

Hi all,I'm new to using FSBUS and am having problems understanding the flash sequence.I have successfully flashed the FSKEY board - after flashing when I read the PIC I can see the data there. Then I shut off the power - move the jumpers to normal and short the reset. After that when I read the FSKEY board it comes up with all 3FFF's again.Where am I going wrong? The manual is pretty difficult to understand, and only references what you should see on an LED card (dahes).Any assistance is appreciated!

Thought I'd post some in progress pictures of my 777 throttle quadrant. Next job is to workout the backlighting of the cover panels. Most of the dimentions and ideas were courtesy ofhttp://projetb777.free.fr/cdes-gaz.htm I used babel fish as a translation tool. http://babelfish.altavista.com/Also dimensions for the handles (Brake, and ALTN Pitch Trim) athttp://www.projectmagenta.com/~lambis777project/ (files are in Corel Draw). For flaps, I altered the plan to use a 12 position Rotary with FSBus.Thank you to those that place their plans and ideas on the web for us to get inspiration from.Any comments or suggestions regarding the cover lettering and backlighting welcome.I …
