Hi folks,I am looking for a squared extruded profile of some sort of metal or plastic.I need outer dimension of 19mm with a thikness close to 1 or 1.5mm.Anyone knows where I can find such ? All I found so far is 20mm but that doesn't fit the switch-holes in my real panels.

Potentiometer that is.I have a USB encoder board that gives me these specs for pot usage. 5K 150nF .15 Supplied with board100K 10nF 10n Supplied with boardLook like I have a choice between two type pots. 5k and 100k. (they supplied me with the capacitors). I'd like to build a trim wheel and then one of those steering handles they use instead of the rudder panels when they are taxiing. Which of the two type pots would you reccommend? Can anyone give a brief exaplaination of the difference? Thanks, gary B.

Hello all,I have a second computer with this problem and was wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I installed the newest FSBUS software that I could find and it worked great. Then FSADMIN stopped working; FSADMIN "cannot open COM2: CreateFile(COM2): failed 87". Tried the same exe/bpl/dll's on a third system and they worked. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling. FSBUS (router) does work however. Thanks in advance.Eric

Does anybody know where to get good information / manuals about this aircraft?I`m in a little doubt about some handles. Maybe someone here knows that:The 2 black/yellow handles in front of the throttle quadrant. What are these? One of them says 'Roll Disc' but I don

Gauge Composer is a new tool to create graphis gauges that can work in any window.http://www.opencockpits.com/images/gc.jpgSoftware gets data from an IOCP server (can be the IOCP server for FSimulator, XPLUIPC for X-Plane, LO-IOCP for Lock-ON, SIOC,...). So these gauges can be used on any computer remotely connected to any IOCP server. With this tool, we can build gauges easily, because it's a visual tool, and every adjusment can be done using the mouse. The software has been designed by our friend Juan R. Ascanio, who is including new features suggested by the users. You can visit www.opencockpits.com or www.iocpserver.net for more information.

Our friend Juan R. Ascanio has published the new version of IOCPserver for FSimulator 2000/2004.With this new server we can link with any IOCP client by using IOCP protocol. There are several clients available: SIOC, ON-737, Gauge Composer, FSRemote Joy, Iocards software...In addition, the SDK to create IOCP clients has been published too. And very soon, the version for FSimulatorX will be available. More information in www.opencockpits.com

OK, I know the smart way to run 7-segment displays is to use electronics that oter people have already designed, such as FSBUS or IOCards, but few people ever described me as smart :-(The small flat card with the power and PC connection can run up to seven of the upright cards with the 5x7-segment. It has only one PIC, one microswitch and three resistors (It's designed to be programmed in situ - without the programming requirement it would need only two resistors) and is so simple in wiring I saw no point in etching a PCB for it.The vertical display card has the driver chip, the 7-segs, and a pot for brighness control. I etched a PCB for it because it otherwise involved 4…

The company I work at is giving us a choice of a couple different Xmas gifts as a "employee appreciation gift" since we're grossly exceeding our numbers this year. The options were:30 GB Ipod10.5" Digital picture frame w/memory cardSlingBox Pro10.2" swivel screen portable DVD playerI don't really need the Ipod or the Slingbox as I have better solutions already. The picture frame might be nice to give the parents for Xmas...I ended up choosing the portable DVD player though. It is this one:http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller...egoryNavigationI found on another web site that it contains a Composite video in as well as an audio in jack. I was thinking I might be able …

Hi folks,I had a great holiday-week. I was invited again to visit CAE in Hoofddorp near Schiphol Amsterdam. Last time around all they had there was a static trainer (no motion system and no visuals out the windows). This time the 2 motion simulators had been moved from Maastricht to Hoofddorp. You can find some pictures here:http://porzone.spaces.live.com/photos/My girlfriend and I first were welcomed and I received a AOM and a quick reference guide (to keep :) )Then we visited the static trainer. A nice introduction to simulation for my girlfriend (whom never before showed any interest and showed little support or enthousiasm for my hobby) and a good exercise for me. …

I received the GoFlight MCP Pro a couple of weeks ago and I am very pleased with it. In general, nearly all problems have been down to pilot error, and I am still learning the intricacies of the beast. When making large changes in settings I have found it necessary to rotate the knobs relatively slowly, or the GoFlight display freezes for a couple of seconds while it catches up. Apart from that, all is going well. The unit can be free standing, it is plug-in and go, and pricing seems very reasonable especially when compared with the earlier Aerosoft offering. It supports FS2004 aircraft using the default autopilot ( but without all the extras such as LNAV/VNAV of course…

Some hopefully interesting photos for you from our small annual Finnish builders' meet:http://lentosimulaattori.1g.fi/kuvat/Kotio...iv%E4t+4.11.06/ (by my friend O.P.)http://tigert.1g.fi/kuvat/MIK/2006-11-04-p...tiohjaamopaiva/ (my photos)We visited finnish aviation academy's simulator dep't - and had a chance to try out the Frasca Beech Bonanza and the King Air FNPT'sThe bonanza was pretty awesome, as it's in "my league", meaning I knew how such a plane works and thus could get more "out of it" than from some big jet where I wouldnt be familiar with the systems. The 3 projector visual was very nice, giving a >180 degrees field of view and huge size. The gauges are done…

Hi, I have add a little bit of code to my SIOC source file for the Level-D 767 FMC implementation. Each time you click one of the 69 buttons (recognised by SIOC) you will now hear a click sound! In the example the default Flight Simulator 9 'switch_light.wav' is used, but you can of course replace that by your own preferred button sound. You may find this FMC SIOC source file, version 1.4, in my Level-D SIOC sources archive at www.nicokaan.nl (page downloads). Regards, Nicohttp://www.nicokaan.nl

I've slowly ventured into the sim-pit world using 3 computers and the wideview program.on my main computer, i have an Asus A8v deluxe with an AMD 64 3000+ and 1g corsair 3200 with winXPpro sp2.i've been using, for my primary, forward display, a 6800gt agp card. i just bought a 6200 pci card to use for my instrument displays. i re-installed the latest nvidia driers (91.47) to see if it would solve my problem, but didn't.what's happening is as soon as i load up the flight sim and, while in windowed mode, undock and move a panel to the pci's screen my computer locks up and i have to hit the reset button on the case. I'm not sure if its the pci card, a driver issues, or a set…
