Hi all,We have designed this robust, trustworthy, and cheap small Dual and Triple Rotary Encoder to satisfy the necessities of all simbuilders. Tested and works directly with the IOCARDS, (6 Cycles 24 detents) is a 50% more faster that its homologous CTS 288 (4 Cycles 16 detens) this last one single, sold by Peter Coss. If somebody needs them for FSBUS it would send one to Dirk so that it adds to its project modifying its software, asi says in its page Web.The work necessary to adapt, requires much precision and suitable tools, It is similar to my tutorial:http://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/ka...it/knitter.htmlThis has more filling and hardness, is extremely similar…

As a flightdeck builder, I am concerned about the lack of view adjustments in FSX.I normally fly in 2D mode with no instrument panel since I use the PM RJ. In FSX, outside views do not align when using the 45 degree and 90 degree views. I have read a few other posts in Avsim forums that 2d views can not be adjusted in FSX. I'm interested to know if other flightdeck builders have noticed this limitation in FSX. Especially those using multiple projectors or monitors for the front and two 45 degree views. Any information will be helpful when sending this problem to [email protected] big step backwards for us if views are in fact not adjustable. Regards,Richard

I am finalizing my simulator for a Cessna 172. I am now building the throttle and mixture controls. I will buy the real controls and will use slider pots and USB SIM-Boards from a company called Flightdecktechnology (http://www.flightdecktechnology.com). Can someone please tell me what type of wires I must use to connect the pots to the PCB? I will go to Fry's this weekend and will get the wiring and crimping tool there. I'm just not sure of what to look for. I suppose that I will have to get wires in at least three colors since posts usually have three connectors (high, wiper, and low). Does this wiring comes in different gauge? Resistance value? Amparage limit?…

Hi all,I'm interested in doing either or both of the following:Using 2 DLP projectors with MSFS 2004 (and eventually X), and/or project from DLP to a curved screen.Questions that pop into my mind: 1 - Can a DLP projector focus properly onto a curved screen? 2 - Can MSFS create two fullscreen (clean) displays that can be divided between 2 projection units?Would love to hear from anyone who has worked on either of these issues. Thanks!SMS

The new USBLcd is available. This card can control up to 4 LCDs (standard HD44780).http://www.opencockpits.com/images/USBlcd2.jpgThe new card is connected to any free USB port (automatically detected; no drivers needed) and is controlled with a specific software so you can control up to 20 individual virtual displays.Displays configuration is done with a visual software by setting the variables and the related texts. You have manuals and software of this new card in www.opencockpits.comRegards, Manuel V

I want to remove the frame from my lcd monitor to fit it into my cockpit. Has anyone done this? What can I expect. I know there are some buttons on the bottom that won't have a home, so i'll have to mount them in some manner, but does the monitor need it's frame?

GuysI want to know what you think of this idea. As you agree the controls are extremely important to have a good feeling. Flying by hand is fun.I decided to redo my present yoke and make a dual one.The attached pic is form the site of juan cordon. I am planning to adjust it a bit. The pink line is a spindle (will be driven by a stepper/dc motor). The spindle will move a little table (light brown). The yoke will ne attached with 2 springs (green) to the table. In neutral position the table is in the middle, both springs have the same tension. After take of, the pilot pulls the yoke to him. Tension on the right spring in the pic increases. The lower the tension, you adjust th…

Greetings,I've almost got my LCD's hooked up thru FSLCD and the parallel port. I say almost because I'm getting very low contrast (almost invisible), but what I can see shows a correct display based on my FSLCD setup. No spec sheet came with it, but I was able to locate the manufacturer and found spec sheet on other specific models in the series, but not my particular one = Tianma TM402CD P-5, 40x2 with LED edge lighting. (Tianma - http://www.tianma.com/comparative_table/tm402c.html). The LED backlight is lighting up nicely.I have no trimmer pots or resistors installed (tried them on both contrast and backlight but found they didn't do much good for either. So my pin …

Hey all,I've finally found a CNC.Someone I know has built a CNC himself, and got quite nice results from it.My question now:what is the best method to draw these (prefferably in Solidworks)?I couldn't find any tutorials on this...I managed to make the cuts without any problems,so I've got the overal shape. But when I create a sketch with the engravings on it, I can't convert it to anything, since it has openings (well, who wants to close lines anyways...)Any suggestions? How do people make them look like real panels in their renders?I managed to export the cuts and the sketch to seperate DXF's for the CNC, but this isn't the correct method imo. Thanks in advance,Toine Mercie…

Hi,as the title says I have a problem with the above. Specifically, the rotary that controls the IAS/MACH has given up on me after nearly 4 years of faultless service. Before I look at a replacement MCP I want to be sure that Aerosoft unit cannot be easily repaired. I use the MCP with an EICAS, a number of Go Flight Modules, CH Yoke and Throttle and the full Project Magenta Boeing Suite.I have checked that the non response from the rotary is not software related. I have also tried different versions of the firmware all without success. My efforts in contacting Andrew McClean have drawn a blank.Has anyone had the same or a similar problem and, if so, how was it resolved? As…

Hi All,Please can you tell me how I can send some photos of my Home Flightdeck to "Hybrid Flightsim Builders Registry" < http://www.t-b-x.com/prather/registry/index.asp> as I have just Registered on their Website and would like to post my Meagre FlightSim Flight-Deck Effort (Compared to Matt Sheil's Mammoth Undertaking its very very basic ) But I would like to show people what can be achieved on a limited budget... Not all but most of the Switches are working units and I am in the process of installing Three new flat screen monitors to act as outside view windows (1x34" , 1x22" & 1x17") However they are not yet finished so the attachments I want to show are …

I'm using 100mm 10K sliding pots for the axes in my throttle. I'd like to know if resistance is supposed to be high or low when the throttle levers are at the idle stops.I know that I can reverse the axis from within FSUIPC if need be after wiring, but I'd like them all wired the same way to start with for uniformity.Does anyone know this? Thanks.
