for my new small home cockpit. After months of new research, PCB design and waiting for exotic parts (like those SMD LEDs), I am proud to present to you the heart of my FMC/CDU after it completed the electronics tests successully. The IOCards setup consisting of the USB Expansion and one (out of four) mastercards are clearly visible. You can see the backlighting test here. The FMC PCB is connected to the master card and occupies all it's input (actually 3 unused) via a 24pins flat cable and a converter PCB of my own design. Everything is passed to the FMC via the flat cable. Power for the backlighting, the outputs and of course all the message leds (EXEC, MSG, OFFSET and …

Hi everyone,A couple of weeks ago I posted a message asking for advice on using the IOcard SDK with VB. I didn't get a single reply! so I'm assuming nobody use IOcard with VB or nobody knows how. The SDK is made with Delphi and after playing with Delphi, VB and the SDK and looking on the internet and ask few questions to Ferdie in OpenCockpit.com I finally succeeded to use the SDK with VB. Here's how;All we have to do is declare the functions and subs of the SDK like that:Declare Sub iocard_write Lib "c:iocdll.dll" (no As Integer, state As Integer)Declare Sub iocard_timer Lib "c:iocdll.dll" ()Declare Sub init_card Lib "c:iocdll.dll" Alias "iocard_inicializa" ()Declare Fun…

Hi,I'm building a '737ng like' cockpit, captain side only, but not the real thing, far from absolutely hardcore.Ok, very quick question not to bother you too long.I need to buy a Throttle quadrant, rudders, MCP and EFIS.What i'm planning :- MCP and EFIS from CPFlight- Throttle quadrant from GoFLight- Rudders from GoFLightSome of you guys may have these hardwares running, would you recommand me to go with my order without a doubt ?Or do you recommand other products not mentionned ?I saw a MCP+EFIS from PFC but can not find the price...MCP from FDS need wiring and is far from too expensive, i need a plug n play stuff.I must say i have a limited budget, so no question about …

will this setup work? these are 2 posiblly potentially incompatible controls made by two different companies. whats even worse is that im am already using a ch pro pedals set. they are all gameport and will be linked in a series: (f-16 flcs->f-18 throttle ->pro pedals-> gameport) i have been using a saitek st90 (w/ buttons for a rudder!)for way too long. this will be my dream hotas. could someone check to see if the three products are compatible?

With more than 18000 people, I hope someone is willing to help me out with this one.I have been searching for a couple of days, without results though.A while ago I bought the CP Flight MCP and EFIS devices. As I already wasinformed about the necessity of the Project Magenta's MCP I bought thatone as well. Now I would like to use it with the PMDG 600-900 ranges, but I got verymuch confused with all the patches. Therefor I would like your advise. Thefollowing I have already done:1. Installed FSCOF (and FS9.1 update)2. Installed and registrered FSUIPC and WideFS (latest versions)3. Installed PMDG 600/700 until service update 34. Installed PMDG 800/900 until service update 1.…

Hey, does anyone know where I can find a cheap-ish USB Throttle Quadrant? I know about CH Throttles, but I don't really want one of those. Preferably one that resembles a twin engine jet aircraft. Its just I've been flying on FS 2004 since 2003 with only a Saitek ST90, and I think its time I made the experience a bit more realistic!Cheers

Hi,I spent lot of time to work on my rudder pedals during the summer. Pushrods are attached, and now they are ready to go into the simulator.Next step is building the platform for my simulator. See the plan and lot of photos of the B 707 rudder pedals on my homepage www.project777.com !Best from ViennaHans G. Histill gathering info about the best visual (outside view ) set-up. A lot of simmers seem enthusiastic about the triplehead2go (matrox). I'm using a ati X800XL 256MB graphics card, it seems that the ATI cards are not good company for the triplehead2go (only low resolution supported). So, what is a good graphics card for the triplehead2go?. My system runs on a AMD Athlon 4000+.I want to use 3 x 19"TFT (3 x 1280x1024) screens for the outside view, any advise on the TFT's (response time, contrast etc.)?Is the view with the triplehead2go enough 'surround' to fly VFR?ThanksDashwww.baron58.com

Just install a 19" widescreen in my cockpit as retrofit. Honestly, it is NOT a good monitor due to its low contrast ratio. It cannot display true "black" color. However, its size is the best fit to my console space when I compare the other models.I disassembly the case and cut up some metal from the console last night. Still have some work to do for a perfect fit (hopefully!)Hope there will be new and high contrast version of 19" widescreen in future. I am afraid the screen size standard will be getting higher and higher. As we see all 15" monitor are phased out and soon to be the 17".Enclose some test shots here.www.alkit.nethttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/154226.jpgh…

Hi all...I made a new yoke out of 2 pots. I am using FSBUS and can't seem to set the aielron and elevator up to neutral when yoke in neutral position. If I look at the plane from the outside my ailerons are constantly in the position to bank right...even though the yoke is centered in my ####-pit. Can anyone tell me the correct FSBUS settings I should have ? Here is how I set them up (but I'm not sure what I'm doing !):MULTIPLIER 95MAX VALUE 16383MIN VALUE 7000 (This is the lowest number I get when I turn yoke)OFFSET VALUE 0CENTER VALUE 118 (Not sure what this means so this could be the problemCENTER WIDTH 5If anyone has any ideas or can point me in the r…

Hi Guys,The list I put together a month ago has now grown to 17 members. I'm also quite pleased to find out that its brought together builders in the same area. Its always good to have another enthousiast in the area to bounce ideas off or even help in the construction phase. If you find that your not on the list and you'd like to be, drop me an email with some details and pictures and I'll list them for you. Who knows, you might be just around the corner from another builder.www.b738sim.com/austbuild.html

I've been working on this piece of software for quite some time now...The concept is an open framework on which developers can build gauges in the form of DLL files (similar to the FS2004 concept) with an OpenGL backend. The DLL files have one or a few callbacks which define the behaviour or the appearance of the gauges, and the gauge arrangements are customizable in a configuration file. Which makes it somewhat of a version of X-Panel working with FSUIPC, and, in the near future, a native network API with a higher data throughput. The reason I'm making this is the lack of market for regional jet and small aircraft software which run externally. Project Magenta offers some…

I am planning on building a new computer to drive my T-38C sim. I would like some advice on what you think is suitable, figuring on FSx coming down the road.I plan on using a Athlon 64 x2 dual core CPU. The difference in price is so small I might as well go with it. I am looking at a geforce 6800gt pci or maybe the 7600 series. I have decided to go with the Matrox triple head adaptor and three 19" or 20" LCD monitors for the outside display. I think this well work better than a single projector for a fighter cockpit.I also need to drive two LCD panels for the instruments. One of the panels has to be turned 90 degrees and viewed vertically. My concern is in driving s…
