I want to share with you, my last good news, about aircraft fasteners replica.I'm a new owner of Engravity's Overhead and it is really an excellent product, i recommend to every 737 cockpit builder.I was looking for the aircraft fasteners replica, but the ones Engravity is selling are out of my budget, for a complete 737NG cockpit, as i need many of them also for AFT overhead, pedestal etc.So i made many of these fasteners, and the result is perfect!! The fasteners are designed for a standard M4 screw and i only have to paint them in Boeing's grey color RAL7011.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/158078.jpgEddie Armaos

Hello everyone,I open up my throttle yesterday. I want to make the throttle lever work with sim.Enclose the pictures of the throttle wheel inside the box. No complicate design. The wheel simply move this way: Full throttle < > Idle thrust < > Thrust reverse. I want to use pot input to connect it to the FS. Does anyone can give me some suggestion of how the mechanical link should be like? (slide input also OK, but seems pot input is prefered by many builders)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/158168.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/158169.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/158170.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/158171.jpgThe last picture, it is a …

Hi,I am wondering what kind of color types are used for the Boeing 737.According to various pictures there are slightly varying colors for the instruments in the panel. Also the radio pedeastal is rather white-grey and similarly the front of the CDU console. I know that the main color used is RAL 7011. Can anybody tell me the codes of the other used colors? Thanks

Hello everybody,I'm building a generic setup in my room in order to increase realism during flights, nothing spectacular but very fun to fly in. I am in search of a flexible throttle quadrant which can function for 2,3 or 4 engines like the GoFlight one, since I fly many different aircraft especially MD80, 737, 767, 747 and Douglas three holers ;) .I own a GoFlight throttle but it does not fufill my expectation completely: it works great but the levers are too flimsy and one of them broke off after a few months leaving me with a "no more than 3 engine" problem. Anyone know other good TQs that can do this?Thank you very muchLuca

Hi everyone.New user here. I am converting a Microsoft Strategic Commander into a control panel able to handle flaps, autopilot and COM/NAV frequency changing. I hope that for my flying purposes this will be enough to minimize the use of the keyboard and make it more realistic. This is my setup right now, I will post pictures and instructions as need in this thread and on the site as the building process continues.I am not very crafty nor good with electronics so I wanted the simplest solution.http://vintagehandhelds.bravehost.com/cockpit.html

are there any special chairs out there that you can plug into the computer and fs9 and realisticaly experience turbulence like you're in the back row of a 747-400, or feel the bumps in the tarmac as the plane taxis to the runway?

This is slightly off subject. However, a lot of you would enjoy seeing this movie.I read about the movie "Flyboys" in the current issue of AOPA Pilot, and went to see it last night. The movie was made by a pilot, who also happens to be a WWI flying historian. Three of the main actors are pilots including stunt pilot David Ellison.I found it to be an enjoyable movie. The flying scenes are fantastic and very accurate. It is about the Lafayette Escadrille, a group of 38 Americans who flew for France before America entered the war. The main roles were based on actual pilots.John

One of our fellow builders (Gwyn Perrott "Westozy") was gracious enough to provide us with his experience using Flightdeck Technology "Sim-Boards." You can read it here: http://www.ifsbi.org/productreview.htmI've been sim building (at different levels) for about 15 years. My first projector was a NEC single tube "GREEN" display.... YUK!! I still have it boxed up somewhere.... Anyway... it's been awhile.I'm amazed how much the information exchange has developed. It's almost to the point, it's hard to keep up :) I'm so appreciative of folks like Gwyn to provide us with experience with new products. This AVSIM FORUM, has been fantastic, without out it, I would not of …

I would think that a very small kybd and track ball might be a good choice... but really, I want those items tucked away, or at least to not look like PC parts. After all, it is supposed to be a cockpit.Any suggestions or other ideas for PC related input devces?Thx,SMS
