Hi allJust wondering if anyone here knows of a file out there somewhere that is much improved over the default Lear 45? I found a flight model here on Avsim in the library, but it is seemingly waaay over powered and also has some quirky characteristics at cruise. Thanks, and if you know of any Lear 45 dimension info, I would appreciate an email to e_tomlinAThotmail.comEric T

Hi all and a Happy New Year !This may be a dumb question, but I bought a new 3.4 Hz PC for my sim. The PC I had before was a 2.4 and it has all of my fligt sim files - FS9, FSBUS, FSUIPC, my add in planes etc. What is the simplest way to put all this on the new PC ? Do I just burn a CD with the FS9 account and copy it over to the new PC hard drive. Many thanks for your advice...JB

Okay, etched my first circuit board! Woohoo!Started with this:http://tigert.com/aviation/vatsim/cockpit-...l-piirilevy.png(Designed on Linux with Inkscape, just a graphics program) - basically took a screenshot of the actual panel design in FrontDesign and scaled it to correct size to get the holes for buttons on the right places. Then pulled some virtual wires.. :-)Printed it with laser and used the technique described here:http://www.fullnet.com/u/tomg/gooteepc.htmto get this:http://tigert.com/aviation/vatsim/cockpit-...on-transfer.jpgNot 100% perfect and pretty, but it works. For the first ever try, I'm pretty happy :)Soldering...http://tigert.com/aviation/vatsim/cockp…

I have been talking to Leo Lacava of Beta Innovations, via email. It seems that with the introduction of FSX Leo is getting out of the MSFS business. FSX has changed the interfacing method, requiring him to rewrite his software. His MSFS customer base is too small to warrant so much time and effort. While I can understand and agree with the business decision, I am sorry he is leaving the MSFS world. He builds high quality boards, provides excellent customer support and was an early innovator in ready to install flight sim products. Besides, I realy like the guy.It also leaves me with a quandary. Should I continue to use his products and attempt to code them for FSX, …

Hi,I am hoping to build an MCP based on a B767-300 using switches and encoders and adapting them to look authentic. I intend to use the opencockpit modules eventually. I have been able to source switchgear and displays but I am really struggling to find a retailer that can supply a thumbwheel encoder which I can use for the vertical speed thumbwheel.Have any of you fine chaps any suggestions where I can find one? Is it possible to build something which will do the same job? Is the wheel in a wheelmouse the same thing - might be some possibilities there although it will be a bit too small. All suggestions gratefully accepted. Been at it for 3 hours now searching the ne…

Hello folks out there im thinking strongly to going glass cockpit because FSX is still new and I would have to come up with a whole lot of upgrades to get it up to performance. But I have been thinking what is the advantage of glass cockpit over using add-on planes like pdmg and level d (which at the moment cannot be done). What im wanting to do is use FSX scenery and such on main server? And use the glass software on another COM networked. (Boeing)I also use wideview and widefs and triplehead2go, the main server will have the three views thru triplehead2go and FSX.The one client will have all of the glass software on it networked thru widefs and I will have another COM ne…

Hi there,I dont know if anybody can help me with this or not. If you have the sizes of the windows of the DC 3 I would be very happy to have them. Also waht is the width across at the top and the bottom outside corners. I want to start building the framework of the overhead, glareshield and windshield of my cockpit.I have been flying with my overhead projector and a second monitor on the same card and the results are quite immersing. The screen size is perhaps a little bit of overkill at 10' 6" (3.3m) but if you've got it use it I guess.basic setup will be Wideview with two pc's. One for the front view with overhead projector, one for dual monitors for flight instruments …

I was going to use a keyboard encoder in my sim, but have a question. The switches would need to be momentary on (if i understand correctly), How can I use a switch that is on-off instead of (mom)on-off? This would also effect the gear lever as I was going to use a locking on-off-on switch! Thanks for the help!

Has anyone built an MJoy16 as described on http://www.mindaugas.com/ ?I have just completed construction of the board and plugged it into the US port and Printer port. I managed to flash the mega16 chip with the hex file provided and verified it to be OK, but when I re-plug the unit into USB, Windows gives me an error message - "USB Device not recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it..................."Hoping that someone else has made this unit (or Meandog is around)and can assist me.Jon

I see the community is still alive and well! I must appologize for my extended HIATUS. I have had a few "off seasons", but this one has been a bit longer than expected. Everything is exactly where it was in February, as I've been very busy developing a totally unrelated application.I haven't been checking my e-mail much at all, so I really apologize to anyone that may have written me with no response. Although I can't speculate when I will be able to return to the hobby, I'm just taking an extended vacation to make sure the bills stay paid :-)Good luck to everyone and season's greetings!Robert Pratherhttp://www.777Simulator.com

Okay, here's going to be my "intended" set-up, I just don't know how to make everything talk to each other:3x19 inch LCD as the cockpit (VC as well) (call them 1,2,and 3), an overhead LCD for the Overhead panel (PMDG (call it 4) and a laptop with charts. My computer is a Dell 8400 with 1 GB RAM, and a nice XFX GFORCE7600 256 RAM. It's running stuff beautiflly now, with PMDG running (737) at around 60 FPS on one monitor (19 inch)My video card has 3 outputs (DVI/S/14pin). I guess I could try and put all three monitors through the output on the back, or add another video card to the computer??What software/hardware will I need? Please

Does anyone know of a good Cessna Citation (X or CJ1/2/3) that can be easily integrated into a home flight deck? Im thinking that the Eaglesoft is going to be hard to integrate. Even just a nice visual model and flight model will be fine with basic Cessna-type engine gauges that will work with GF hardware and FDS SYS3 boards. Thanks,ET

I'm having a problem with FSX. I have a 4th monitor in addition to the TH2G from the same pc and same video card. I drag the panel to the 4th monitor and save the flight and settings. When I load this saved file the panel is back on the main TH2G monitors. I was able to do this in FS9. Can this be done here? My video card is Nvidia 7950GT with 512 ram. The computer is a duelcore with 2 gigs of ram.Is this a problem with the video card or FSX? Hope someone can help. Thanks, Gerry
