Hi fellow cockpit builders,Does anybody know of any affordable solution for using a separate computer (which I already have so I don't need to buy it) to display the overhead panel of a 737? I don't want my main FS computer to display it because I am using 2 videocards in SLI mode, which gives me only one single video output (which I use for the outside view). All my instrument panels are displayed on separate computers using Project Magenta. Their solution for this is PM-Systems which to my opinion is very expensive.I have used wideview for a while but I think it is not very comfortable (e.g. weather synchronisation, traffic, scenery synchronisation) plus you cannot start…

Hi, I'm in the process of starting a basic 737 ng cockpit after researching for 6 months. The first problem i have come across is software for my pannels.I am using three screens behind my MIP but i need a way of breaking up my PMDG pannels into the right size and possition.I have avoided PM (project majenta) puley for the fact it is so expensive. If anyone has any advise on how i can accomplish this i would be very greatfull.Just to let you know i plan on using another screen for my fmc's and lower eicas as well as a screen for my radio stack and one for my overhead pannel.Cheers, Justin.

As promised I've dumped the flash of programmed fsbus pics 16f84 and saved them as .hex files for those who are experiencing problems in flashing via fsbus board but have a pic programmer. If you don't have a pic programmer and want to try to make one very simple you can try a search with "ludipipo", this is probably the simplest pic programmer avaiable, just a couple of capacitors and resistors and two diodes, you can find an even simpler version that doesn't need external power but it does not work always well (for me it worked only under REAL msdos and with a software called "pic24c13.exe")The number in the file name is the CID you must use with the pic programmed with…

I have two FS Bus IO boards, print 20060218. My first worked until I plugged in the ISP wrong; ISP pin 6 ground trace snapped and the Atmel8535 did not respond to PonyProg anymore. I repaired whatever I could find wrong on my first board and then built a second. So now I have new 8535s, new 16MHz crystals and 22pF caps. Both 8535

Here's a picture of my current colection of real cockpit items.http://users.skynet.be/porreke/blogger/upl...ling-713450.jpgSoon to join the group is the overhead lights lightplate & a free parking brake lever. The parts I'm most eager for are more overhead panels and the MCP. But someone told me the MCP lightplate will be hard to get because it is stuck to the entire module (for some weird reason I don't know about).

I'm going to build a small cockpit panel to use as procedure trainer for PPL students in the local flight club/school.We're going for FS9, to keep computer hardware costs down. Graphics quality won't be too important for us anyway. What is important, though, is having a wide view.Three projectors would be awesome, but we don't have the space or the money, so we're going for several monitors or tv's.After discovering mainboards with several PCI-express slots, I'm looking at running everything on one computer. Two monitors will be used for instruments behind the panel. If we have four PCI Express x16 slots (ASUS P5W64 WS Pro), four identical gfx-cards with dual outputs (and a …

Hi to all ... I have now Com, Servo, Keys, Display and soon Stepper cards .I am wondering if I can use the new CDK to setup my sim or if I need to flash/reflash the Com etc some other way. Someone was kind enough to send me cards they are not using anymore so they were flashed previously for a different application.I have not plugged anything in until I am clear what I am doing and I need to get power supplies for the Com and the servo boards. Any direction is appreciated as I cannot access the classic site any longer. Thanks ... Bob R

Hi,has anyone any experience of buying the pre tinned and drilled FSBUS PCB's from www.cockpitsonic.deI notice that they sell the completed boards for about 100 euro each, but that you can buy the boards drilled and tinned, but lacking components for about 15 euro.I can get the components from Maplin or RS at a reasonable enough price, but have no experience of etching PCB's and would prefer to purchase them from a manufacturer. Are the ones from cockpitsonic.de compatible with the latest versions of FSBUS, and are they of a high standard. Thanks

They are quiet, extremely accurate, stepper motor driven with a USB interface. Adds an incredible amount of realism to your sim! For more info check out http://www.flightillusion.com/FORMgallery4.htmI paid $1700.00 for these gauges, will sell for $900 plus shipping. If interested please contact me at [email protected] a pic please see my post in the swap meet forum. Just doing a bit of research.I've currently got 1 20" LCD monitor for running MSFS. I'd like to add in an extra monitor or two. E.g. for docking windows to (FMC etc..). I'm thinking of getting a TripleHead2Go unit. However I don't have any spare flatscreen lying around ;-). However a do have a couple of 17" CRT monitors spare. Has anyone used the TH2GO in this setup (where the left and right screens are a different size/style from the centre monitor?)

I have spent a while looking at FSBUS for possible use in my 737NG cockpit.I was wondering if users of this system could give me some feedback, on how difficult it is to build the controller and other items.I found a site http://www.rvdijk.nl/pcb.htm that sell the PCB and face plate for a few of the 737NG components, like the Nav/Comm units.Has anyone build these? How do they work? were they difficult to build? My final question for now is... will these FSBUS cards work through a serial to usb converter as my pc does not have a serial port? Thanks for any advice

I am considering a 737NG sim.I have done a lot of research and red all the forums. My first question is...Which interface is the best, most supported and easist to setup.I am not a programmer but do know a bit about electronics, and setting up pc's etc.I have seen usb keyboard interfaces, i know these only allow imputs but i have no idea of how to get them to work with a toggle switch instead of momentary ones.I have not seen an good enough explanation of how to get these types of switches to work with flightsim without having to use software like project magenta.second question is, do i need project magenta? or can FS2004 or FSX do the job. Can the systems be replicated b…
