  1. Hello and thanks for taking the time to read my post Can you help me please? I can not get my CCU2 Controller to calibrate any of my Simkits gauges As best as I can see, everything is installed correctly, I have the flashing red light on my CCU2 board - confirming the firmware has been loaded I have downloaded the drivers from the simkits / TRC Simulations website, and followed their installation manual PDF for the controller board TRCLink application confirms the board is connected to the PC I am running this from Windows XP TRC Calibration software loads and reports a connection to the board, but when I move the calibration sliders, they have …

Newbie here, I have a boy scout troop that is building a flight simulator and we are almost to the spot of doing motion. I am thinking something easy at first. I want to use linear actuators, either pneumatic or electrical. I am mounting the whole simulator on a single pole (u drive train axle from a vehicle) and will put it at the center weight part on the bottom of the platform. Then we would like to have a left side that tilts the simulator left and right when you bank and then another one in the back that moves the nose up and down. We are using Saitek controls, foot pedals and throttles. The simulator has 2 seats and has 3 27" monitors for viewing and 2 19…

Hello everybody, I'm making a home cockpit of Cessna. I fly on P3D V4. When I clic on my Switch for Master Battery Switch, nothing happen (The battery start for almost 10 ms and it stop.) I have to click on it with my Mouse. It works well with Carenado Cessna Aircraft with no G1000, but it doesn't work with Carenado G1000 or A2A Aircrafts... My Battery Switch is set with FSUIPC. Even if I set it with Normal P3D Command, it doesn't work. The other switches works perfect... I also have a problem with the Fuel Valve on the Carenado Aircrafts. When I move the Fuel Valve selector nothing happen. But it works well on the A2A Aircrafts…

  7. Hey everyone, I was wondering how you guys enhance your flight sim experience at home? Not around the sim itself, but your cockpits at home. I'm looking for ideas to enhance my setup. I'm thinking for example clipboards for charts and stuff like that. Hit me up with your ideas and maybe pictures of your own cockpits!

Hi I'm building a flight yoke and have fitted it with potentiometers. I am however considering swapping them for hall sensors as in the past I've found potentiometers dont last last long before they begin to spike. I have used steel in the construction that is in close proximity, about 30mm away from where the magnets and hall sensors will be located. Will this interfere with the magnetic field or in any way affect their operation? Cheers Stu

Hi everybody, My project to build the cockpit of the Cessna 172 goes on and, after programming the Arduino Mega cards one for buttons and switches, one for the throttles and one for the knobs for the instruments, I am going to build the annunciator panel. Inspired by an idea other member I will build, with the printer 3d, the frame where to insert the LEDS but I dont know how I will make the decals with the writing, you have any idea for me? How and where I must print the written (normal paper, transparent sheets or other? ) Hello and thanks

  14. Hi Guys I would like to be able to "activate" by R/T and I/C buttons on the audio control panel of my Opencockpits pedestal, so that I can assign key presses in FSUIPC to activate PTT's in Teamspeak and vPilot. I am using Open Cockpits modules throughout except for the MCP and EFIS panels, which are from cpFlight. Below is my pedestal SIOC script. I have added a few lines right at the end of the script, under "Trial code for PTT's", which is my attempt at activating the captain's R/T button on the ACP. I have used the code posted by others on various forums as a starting point. Trouble is, I am not a programmer, and I'm really just working blind with this! H…

  15. Hi guys! I've been trying to build panels with backlighting like this one: http://kazey.flitepal.com/cockpit_build/backlit_panels/20170524_222631mod.jpg While researching, I came across videos and some topics: https://aviation.stackexchange.com/questions/2608/how-are-backlit-aircraft-panels-for-simulators-made https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5efmnMKkMs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIGPb0ko0qE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9g2ipxu-VgM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vf7tQNYqliw Those topics and videos refer to some sort of "laser color", "opaque special white laser color" etc., which is something I cannot underst…

I made a post in the joystick and hanger chat section but so far haven't got anywhere. I then realized this might be a better forum to post in! :) I'm trying to order a 737 yoke from ace, has anyone had dealings with them? On Facebook it says they usually respond within an hour but I messaged then days ago and still don't have any response. Tried email too. I love a time from them but the slow response to sales enquiries doesn't fill me with confidence for support. Anyone got and experience with them? Chris

  17. My aircraft seems to use fsx control 66300 to start and shutdown jet engine 1, but when i use it the engine starts up ok but will not shutdown. My lua function stipulates fsx control 66300 when the starter knob is turned to start and also 66300 when turned back to off (66300 is listed as a toggle). Linda shows it being sent value 0 in both instances when tracing the vc knob function. The trace also shows an lvar which i am assuming just does the visuals of the knob. Any ideas how i can shutdown the engine. I am using 66300 for engine 1 and 66301 for engine 2 with the same results on both. Both start but neither will shutdown. However they do shutdown if i t…

Hi everyone, I've been wanting an overhead for a while, unfortunately I can't afford the proper ones at the moment so I want to create a really simple, cheap overhead by using a couple of keyboards, and the help of Lua Macros and AutoHotkey. Trouble is, I have no clue on where to start with Lua or AutoHotkey, as my only programming experience is a few useless Python scripts. I am hoping to have two keyboards for the 777 overhead, and two for the 737, that I'll be able to swap depending on the aircraft. Any help is appreciated. Cheers Jake

  22. Hello, a heads up that I've been plugging away at this today and have something workable I'll be uploading to the file library today. Controls included (and what button is used on the MCPPRO): AP ENG -> CMD A AP DISC -> CMD B SPEED -> SPEED APPR -> APP HDG -> HDG SEL NAV -> LNAV ALT -> ALT HLD VS -> V/S Both course dials, and the speed, heading, altitude dials and v/s wheel all work as well. For some reason I couldn't get the B/C button to work, I'll look at it again and see what I can do. I also couldn't get the ALT button to work properly...it seems it's more complicated than a simple on/off button. I find in t…

  23. This looks really interesting and I was wondering if anyone here uses this? I have a few iPads laying around and this would be great to have my entire panel running off the iPads and free up my entire main screen for the scenery only, plus I think it would even give the simulator better performance since it doesn't need to render the actual instruments in the virtual cockpit. You can read more about it here - https://www.siminnovations.com I wonder if this would work for planes such as PMDG 777/747, Aerosoft CEJ and the Airbus. I think having 2 or 3 iPads would make this a pretty awesome setup.

Hi, I've decided to try to build my own overhead panel for the 737-800 and am looking for some guidance as to what works with what. I'm hoping to integrate it with the PMDG NGX but not sure what hardware works ie servo cards, input/output cards. Does anyone know a great tutorial or have any experience in doing this. My other option is to purchase ProSim and integrate the overhead with the model. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks John
