What are your recommendations for FMS hardware? Ones like vrinsight CDU II. Ive heard mixed reviews on that one. Also is there a cheaper one? Id prefer a boeing style one but airbus is fine too.thanks Lee

Hello dear friends. Two years ago I started building a pedestal for L-410 turboprop plane (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Let_L-410_Turbolet). It is a very great fun for long winter evenings but now I don’t have enough time to finish it. I would really love to finish this project but when I have a chance to choose between real world flying, flying on vatsim, doing ATC on vatsim or developing some addon do FS then homecockpit has the lowest priority. Now it has been lying here under my desk and I have no usage for it. It is a pity because I think that it is quite good project.I am selling it “as it is” but of course I have deeply thought about how to finish it so be sure that…

Hi there. I want to build a cheap home cockpit. Will I be able to use 1 computer for 7 monitors? This is what i want 7 monitors for: 3 x Monitors for main Captain, Centre and Co pilot displays (I.e on the MIP).1 x Touch screen monitor for Lower display and FMC and squawkbox etc.1 x Touch screen monitor for overhead panel (so don't have to build one, will have to use FS9 addons for overhead panel): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWGRZAVNb20 2 x Large Monitors for scenery display This is because I want to use the FS9 addons for my displays, eg PMDG 747 for a 747 cockpit and PSS 777 for 777 cockpit etc (just undock and drag the displays -PFD, MFD etc- to each different scr…

Hi all, I was just wondering if someone would be able to help. I have been building a basic generic sim for my local Air Training Corps squadron and I have run into a slight issue; I need to find a way to display an instrument panel for FSX on a separate monitor. The current set up involves a TripleHead2Go with two projectors and a monitor attached. Using windowed mode and multiple displays I have managed to display the 'outside' view across the two projectors and the FSX cockpit on the monitor. However, due to the curved screen/mirror set up I am using (due to space limitations), I am having to use software to warp the image to correct for the distortion. This has worked…

Hello Cockpitware friends !Here is the new version of OGS : 1.20The design has been reworked to better fit to reality (Although a lot is still to be done !).It includes new features, like the Angle of Attack (AOA) indicator, metric altitude display, so you can fly in China :-) , a rising runway for the approach, and the FPV (Flight Path Vector) indicator, to better appreciate your flight path. Most of all, it includes IOCARDS support. You can directly connect your EFIS switches, F/D switches, power switches to OGS.try it at : http://www.cockpitware.comWe hope you'll like it !Best regardsCockpitware

Greetings all. I'm new to this forum but wanted to share my build with everyone. I fly Flight1 Software's execllent Pilatus PC12 with FS2004 and wanted to build panels to substitute for mouse clicks (as do most of us here on this forum). I didn't need a full cockpit or digital displays, just the buttons and rotary switches. So, I programmed my own PIC microcontroller to interface the switches with the USB port of my PC, built the panels, and wrote a nice article folks might be interested in. Here is a photo of my panels in use: PC12 PanelsAlso, here is a link to the .pdf article I wrote. PC12 Panels.pdf It's a little over 2.2 MB but it's a pretty good read. C…

Dear fellow enthusiasts - We've just started collecting and scanning historical aviation manuals for enthusiasts or restorers. We put a lot of time and effort into the project (that's why we can't give them away for free) and recommend that you take a look at our website. These manuals are interesting both to those interested in aviation history and those interested in building (both full-scale and models). The site covers the technical side of 1940s aviation. The focus is on design and manufacture and goes completely away from the expected unit history format. Aircraft covered are the P-51 Mustang, Vought F4U Corsair, de Havilland Tiger Moth (DH82), the Me…

Hi,Today I have released version 8.0 of my (free) lekseecon software for building Level-D 767 home cockpits.Major Change:Lekseecon can run in two modes. By default it exchanges information with Opencockpits SIOC but it can now also exchange information with Peter Dowson’s FSUIPC!Every lekseecon variable is also available as a FSUIPC offset. This might be of interest for people using FSUIPC-based systems such as FSBUS, Phidgets, Leo Bodnar's card, Epic, what have you...More information can be found at my web sitekind regards,Nico Kaan

Hi all,If you own Cpflight's MCP, fly PMDG's 747X on FSX with FslLabs's driver, and you experience no problem then we need your help !! :)A lot of us experience stutters and micro-pauses that make using the MCP+driver almost impossible, which is a shame considering the price we've paid it. Therefore if you can take 2 minutes of your time to answer to following questions, it might help us find a solution. So we really need you here :) 1) which version of FSX do you run ? (RTM, SP1, SP2, Acceleration)2) Which OS do you run (windows XP, vista, Seven, another ? 32bits ? 64 bits) ?3) did you install FSX in the default directory of did you create your own ?4) did you in…

Hey all, This is mostly just so people can offer casual advice as i go but i do have a few important questions.Myself and a friend are going to start building what can resemble for the most part an A-6 Intruder/EA-6B Prowler pit.ProwlerIntruderIt will be just heavily and as much as possible based on these as we want to do other things like have 3 people in the cockpit as ill explain, but we want to end up calling it a Protruder :(We're into sim games like ArmA and Silent Hunter but this is our first stint over to flight sims besides IL2, but it was only a matter of time. We've watched videos of A-6 Intruders in Xplane and a couple of other older sims, and assume they are a…

Well I got some toggle switches in the mail today so I built myself a MCP along with an EFIS. I am still waiting on a BU0836 abd some rotary encoders.I built the MCP and EFIS on one panel. Here are some pics, again it is not a replica of a 737 but rather just my own little build.I still have quite a bit of work to go, as you can see from behind the MCP i have a lot of wiring to do but need my BU0836 before proceding, and also those encoders.Thnaks for looking, More to come :(

Hi, I fly both Flight1’s Cessna Citation Mustang and Cessna 172 on my computer using a CH Yoke and Pedals, keyboard and mouse.I would like to expand the flight experience with some desk top controls and stop using the keyboard and mouse for everything.I am very low tech so I think I should stay with plug and play.Question: GoFlight has a Private Pilot stack with 6 modules. 1 GF-T8, 2 GF-166, 2 GF-P8, 1 GF-46.It has no throttle module but there is a very basic single throttle on the CH Yoke.Would the GF Private Pilot stack be a good package for the Mustang or would other hardware be a better idea?I have read a number of posts on the subject and come away confused by the ch…

Hello people!I have been planning for some time now, and just recently started making my own homemade sim panel. I fly mostly a Dassault Falcon 20, but also bigger jets and the baron58 some times, so the panel will be general purpose, with functions as propeller sync, but also apu management etc. Main shape complete:Testfitting of plexi panels:First panel with some buttons and switches done. Still waiting for rotaries

I am in the market for 3 Short Throw projectors and wondered what others suggest. I have seen the BenQ MX613ST for around $640 USD and wondered if anyone has a opinion or experience with it and if that would be a decent choice for low end projector. Thanks in advance Henry

Hello everybody.I am starting my home cockpit project and would like to share my progress, I am in the very begining of the project(started it 2 days ago) so there is not much to it right now, but i will continue to post pics with my progress. As you can see all I got as of yet is the start of my center console, I mounted my saitek throttle(Would like to add another right beside it at some point).I added a toggle switch which will be the park brake(I owuld like to add a lighted toggle switch at some point, but I am not sure if this is possible with the BU0836X card), I also drilled 2 holes right below the throttle which I will be adding 2 toggles for the fuel cutt-off switc…

Dear simmers, I have already posted this in another forum but spending more than a week searching how to program the module and dealing witjh almost everything I decided to repost from the beginning so let me start. Lately I bought from opencockpits the airbus radio module http://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/airbus-radio-module-p-256.html?cPath=22_63 Then I downloaded the IOCModules v1.6Beta1, I installed it on my computer which runs windows 7 64bit and I start testing it with my FSX. Great success but when the atc requested me to apply squawk 7241 the code was overridden to 1200 . I start searching for the solution and I found that inside iocmodules.ini there was …
