Hey guys Finally joined after being a lurker for a bit. Started building on my 747 style throttle quad. Well not actually a build but more or less a modifcation to 2 saitek throttle quads. Anyways, I'm using the PMDG 747 for FS9 and I am trying to program the Engine cut off switches to the T1 thru T4 buttons on my throttle through FSUIPC and I'm having a bit of trouble getting it to work, I'm using mouse macros to do this and I am successful at programming the cutoff switch number one to the T1 button. I've done a search online for this problem and it seems like there isn't a solution. Found one from I believe was from the FUSIPC support forum about editing the macros in…

Hi All, I had made a slide potentiometer throttle when I had the creative audigy card which had a gameport , but the card blew and now I need to use it on a USB port and this is especially for the Cessna 172 and later 152 for X plane 10. Does anyone know how can I do that. The other thing is about the Adreno cards, has anyone tried using those to make gauges like the comm / lights etc .... ? Thanks guys.

Hi Guys Looking at doing a basic control panel to work with FSX I had an old joystick that I took apart and cut the little buttons off and added a Car Toggle Switch 9 out of the 10 toggles worked. I looked on ebay last night and found this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/No-Delay-Arcade-USB-Encoder-PC-to-Joystick-for-MAME-JAMMA-Arcade-Game-Controls-/171189189992?pt=UK_Video_Games_Coin_Operated_MJ&hash=item27dbabbd68 So I bought 2 of them! My plan is now to build the full panel to operate Lights etc using this device, my question is, is it simply a case of attaching a 2 pin toggle switch onto one of the Button Pins on the PCB and setup FSUIPC to control it? I al…

Hi builders,I finally decided to skip my 744 project. I have collected a large number of real flight deck components during the last few years...hoping one day I start building them together. So many hobbies, I simply no longer have the time and energy to accomplish my plan.I'd like to sell my flight deck seat parts first. I own a large number of seat covers, cushions, seat belts, armrest covers, head rests, etc. I wonder if somene wants them. Some items are new, some are used but in great condition. Some of my sheep skin covers show some wear. Some of these parts may fit other sims of the Boeing family as well (757,767,777)...make sure you do your homew…

Hi im going to build a home cockpit. First I wanted to build an a320 I got all the plans but I don't have enough space in my room for it. I'm searching for a plane which is light and have more procedures to be done until the flight(its more interesting when you have what to do until the flight) I have fsx and x plane 10 but im not sure that my pc is enough powerful to run x plane 10. Here are the specs: Cpu: amd athlon 5800+ dual core 2.8 ghz Ram: 4gb kingston Videocard: amd radeon 4830 hd Win 7. ------------------------------------------ So can you give me advice with the plane and x plane 10 vs fsx for my pc

I recently rewired my flight controls from parallel port to USB. For this, I cannibalized a USB-joystick and used 10 audio kOhm linear faders as pots (parallel was using 100 kOhm). Unfortunately, I am getting quite a lot of jitter from those pots, and I am thinking of changing all over again and going for a Leo Bodnar product such as this: http://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67&products_id=180 However, Leo advises against using audio pots and makes some recommendations for suppliers. Unfortunately, these suppliers only offer rotary pots. I would be glad for any advice about where to buy linear sliding pots (faders) …

I neither have the time, space or money! for a home cockpit but it would be an interesting project if it were possible, I came across these two videos which I though would be of interest. The first is flying and the second is how it was built. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAyMBjmBih0

Hi guys - thought I'd give it a shot here... I Own the good old 747MCP by the Australian Aerosoft - which is discontinued. It's been a few years back, but if I remember right, the power supply malfunctioned and I ended up with no lights working - not the leds and neither the 7seg displays. Any idea if this is repairable and how? Cheers and any help is appreciated! Ilan

I have been thinking of building a nav/comm panel with a HD44780 LCD display driven by my Pokeys 56U. Problem is I have no idea how to send a character string to the device. I may be naive but I am sure that there are Lua scripts around to do this. My Googling has not yielded anything obvious. I favour Lua because I can easily run scripts from FSUIPC. Would anybody here know the answer? Thanks, Phil

Hi everyone. While delving in a drawer I found my old x64B-USB card from the long-defunct "Beta Innovations" that Leo Lacava used to operate. I'd like to use it, but can't figure out how to get FSX or FSUIPC to see it. When I connect it, it shows up as a 'Standard system device HID' in Windows 8, not as a Game Controller. I have Leo's old "USB toolkit" software, and when I run that it shows the buttons being closed and opened when I short the pins on the board. Anyone got any idea how to get FSUIPC or FSX to see an HID instead of only a game controller? Richard

Hello, i made COM FSBUs today and i have problem with connection. I put it to +5V and red LED is still off. LED on power supply (adapter in 230V) is too off, so problem is in current. Current are not in COM. I use this adapter: https://www.gme.cz/napajeci-souosy-konektor-wealthmetal-ds-241b-p806-303 D1 (P6KE6V8A): https://www.gme.cz/p6ke6v8a-p222-168 instead of F1 is just wire. As described in a previous posting, I am trying to convert my old rig from Parallel to USB. I can solder etc., but what I cannot do is to build a controller. So the plan is to cannibalize a USB-joystick and use the controller. I will have to put in my own potentiometers, as I have to use sliding pots, and the joysticks only come with turning pots. I understand that pots for a USB joystick are 10 k Ohm unlike my old pots for the parallel port which were 100 k Ohm. I was now thinking of using sliding pots that are used for Audio / HiFi equipment. These can be found easily, the levers have rather long ways of travel, and the quality is usually good. These…

Hi, all. I am looking into building a simulator for the aviation gallery in the museum I work at. I would like to have somewhat of a semi-enclosed cockpit, 3 screens, 4 if the gauges can be put onto one. I looked at Roger Dodger, but the construction is too light for the public. The layout seems ok, but again, too light for our crowd. I also need info on the computers needed to run all this, does it take one or two or ...? What I guess I am looking for is the Idiot's Guide to Home Cockpit Building. Does anything like that exist or a site that will get me closer to understanding all of this? Any help would be appreciated. If you are in the Roanoke area, contact me by PM. T…
