  1. Hi All, I am after some advice if possible please? I had been flight simming for many years but gave up probably 10 years ago (life got in the way!). After the news about FS2020 I have realised how much I loved the hobby (lump in the throat when I saw the first trailer) and am keen to get back into it. I have always wanted to build a cockpit of sorts and I think now, with this latest version, is the time! The issue I have is not the design or manufacture of the cockpit or really even the electronic side but rather my generic cockpit requirement. I intend to build a cockpit more geared toward a twin otter type aircraft but not be aircraft specific. My questi…

Hi Everyone, I am new to this forum and am probably about to ask a very stupid question. Can EZCA be used to good effect in a home build, or does EZCA need to be in either the VC view or an external view of the aircraft for the effects to work, I have a fully enclosed 737 cockpit and hence the only view I have is the normal forward outside view. I know the effects are to do with the camera placement but I was wondering if there is a default camera position that gives the normal outside front view. The visuals consist of 3 projectors on a 180 degree screen. Does EZCA work on this type of system. I apologise if this has already been covered in the forum but I could fin…

Hi, lately I was thinking of building a home cockpit. I usually fly airliners in the sim like pmdg 737, but I thought when building a homecockpit I might be happier with a business jet, since it is kind of more flexible. And good think is a Falcon 8X is quite fast and can fly higher altitudes. Beside that it is able to fly long-range compared to a regular 737/320. However, I am aware of that most people build 737 and 320 cockpits and there are most resources available for that. Now I am wondering if there are recourses available for the Falcon 8X etiher? Google did not lead me anywere useful. Even I don't know if there is any software out there that simulates th…

Hello fellow simmers. For over a year or two I am walking around with the idea of making a cockpit of a classic propliner of the good old age! The big amount of large gauges is very easy to make in most of the time in an easy straightforward panel. However to make all those RPM, BMEP, MAP, CH temp, OIL temp gauges to work is a different story. Is there any experience here among all the A320 and B737 cockpit builders how to make those gauges? regards Ronald van Ingen

Hi! I’m thinking of building a simple overhead panel for the PMDG 737 with no working gauges or lights. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this and if so, what cards and softwares do I need?

Hi there. I am trying to get hold of a Ryanair FCOM/QRH/SOP manual. I managed to download the 2005 revision from mycockpit.org but find the ''not for operational use'' (strewn across the whole page) watermark rather annoying. I do not mind if it is 10+ years old or a pdf/physical copy. I do not mind if it has ''not for operational use'' written on it. As long as the watermark doesn't cover the whole page that's fine by me. I would appreciate it if somebody could point me in the right direction, be it via a reply or via a PM.

  7. I'm in the midst of wiring up everything for my c172 trainer. Gauges are installed, GPS is up, TRC radio control board in the mail, and my Brunner yoke comes in on Monday. I still need to wire the switches and sliding pots which will be done once I get a couple FI extender boards delivered. Everything seems to be lining up. However, I would like to protect the rear side of the dash panel, and was wondering if anyone has come up with any ingenious solutions on their own build? For the top, I would need something that is flexible enough for the top trim, and have been leaning towards foam board, and possibly using that material for the back as well (surrounding the yoke …

Just curious, short of trying to fabricate them, is there a place where you can get realistic knobs, buttons, push switches etc for building custom panels?

Hello All ! I'm working since a while on a project of a full system to control a B737-800 homecockpit, based on raspberry and arduino cards. The system is quite well developped now, it allows to control the hardware (all buttons, rotary encoders, analog sensors, ...) and control the different screens (PFD, ND, upper and lower DU (Engines, ...). I am currently working on the FMC, and it's a huge amount of work. The main ideas for such a design are : - make a plug & play system : no programming needed, just configuring your own hardware through a User Interface program. - low energy consumption : all screens are driven by Raspberry pi3 cards, which consum…

I want to build a steering tiller for my PMDG 737NGX, and am considering using a Hall Effect Sensor, Have found one which seems suitable # 6127V180L.5. it has a 180 deg.position. & 4.5 to 5.5 V input. I have built them before using ordinary pots, but they are not stable enough and dont seem to hold their position very well. Has anybody used these sensors before, and would it be suitable ? Cheers, Neil

Hi. I have a 7" screen that I wish to use for the REX Advantage Weather radar, also to assign physical buttons for the operation of the switches just like the Reality XP GPS without screen which has built in bezel-less feature out of the box if desired. It can be done very easily using the REX SDK Ive had a look but an stumped without knowledge of C++ and to be able to decompile and recompile the exe which is the only way to do this. Is there any one with C++ skills who could help me with this please? Thanks Roger

I am making a custom switch panel using rocker switches and a rasberry pi, but i ran into a small problem while i was assigning the keybinds for my alabeo c404 titan i noticed the landing lights where not working when i flipped the switch. So i checked my connections and the switch outputs and they are all good. So it turned to fsuipc and looked at the log. When i flipped the switch by clicking it with the mouse it printed a custom id. so i tried that and still nothing. So i am at a loss for why the landing lights cant be binded but work when you click on the switch in the sim. All the code does on the pi is send a message over the internet to the pc which then the pc use…

Hi all, I have a 4 screen setup. 2 for the main view and 2 for the G1000 PFD and MFD. to display the pfd and mfd i open two additional intrument view windows, undock them, then drag them onto their respective 10inch monitors. Here is my problem:- when i open up the additional instrument view the window appears on my main screen, displaying correctly. But when i drag them onto the 10 inch monitor they go totally black. If I drag them back onto my main screen they display ok again. it is like my video card does not have enough memory however i use a 16gb gtx1070 so i would have thought that should be ok. Could it be lack of main pc ram? My setu…

Hi guys, In the Embraer Phenom it has a GCU for inputting flight plan data etc. Part of this is a keypad for inputting letters and numbers. In the SIM this merely replicates the pc's keyboard. Ie pressing the letter A on the gcu can be also be done by pressing the letter A on my main keyboard. My question: How to assign a switch to type the letter A ? Cheers Stinger

  21. After using over 500 hrs on flight simming on my computer I decided I kinda wanted a little change. I wanted to upgrade, so I wanted to make a homecockpit. Nothing too big but that’s not relevant. I’m currently working on making my overhead and I have a couple of questions. 1. In the overhead panel there are two displays that shows the flight level for cruise and the landing alt, how can I make that? Or do I have to buy it separately in that case can someone please give me a link? 2. The lights on the overhead and the announciators and stuff, how can I connect them to p3d? Is it possible to program it so that when the light in the sim flashes, it does the same I…

I’m considering purchasing a 737 cockpit as a commercial flighsim project. The question I ask is Should I use a prepackaged simulator for the avionics etc or go with the original complete interior and convert it to a simulator. Is the conversion a 10 year project or fairly straight forward for someone in the know.

I have looked for parts and I've only seen a panel from Skalarki Electronics, which you have to specially order. Any help out there?
