Hi all, Does anyone have measurements or schematics for the exact locations to place down the "J-Rails" for the 737 seats? Many thanks,

Hi all, I am just wondering if anyone was aware of a actual component you can buy off the shelf, specifically for the 737 https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-aOmdJwMdEUI/UqfpHrtZFBI/AAAAAAAAAu8/8o1jtzhVbfA/s1600/N1+Set+Panel+-+Custom+-+WEB+06.jpg This is the 2 switches for the N1 Set & Speed Ref, this is a 45 degree rotary switch, with a top potentiometer. Now i know you can user a gear mechanism like what is available from SISMO for example, however i was looking to see if there was a specific component you can by or Farnell or Mouser/RS Components directly to achieve this? Many thanks,

Hi guys, I have built my own sim rig, including using an old car seat mounted onto a wooden frame. I am contemplating getting a butt kicker to go under the seat but looking at all the pics the transducer needs to mount onto something like the support of the office chair. I do not have that, just a space under my seat between frame and seat. I have seen something that seems to overcome that like a steel tube with bolt fixings I could attach to the base under the seat. Firstly, is this possible and secondly is it worth it in regards to the immersion factor? Dave

  11. Hi guys Im starting out builing my A320 home cockpit (first time ever home cockpit builder here). The cockpit is intended to be used in VR so I am leaving out all the screens and LED indicators. I also build only the captains side. The switches qnd knobs will be connected to Arduinos an then used via mobiflight in the Fenix A320 in MSFS. Now I am looking for a suitable used car seat with adjustable armrests and adjustable in height and position. The replica A320 seats are just too expensive for what I want. Do you have any tips for me, which car models I should look in to for this seat? What did you use in your cockpits? (I am from Europe, Switzerland so it…

  13. Started by muddyegret,

I am posting in this forum because people without cockpits might not get my problem and question. I have built a generalized GA cockpit that currently uses 3 out of 3 available monitors, plus an android pad (32' main monitor for flying, 13" monitor for AirManager gauges, a 10" HP touchscreen for GPS, Android 10" for 2nd panel of AirManager gauges, plus a 7" monitor for wet compass). I have a decent radio stack (Propwash), and I want to start using a better ATC program. I am leaning toward Pilot2ATC. It seems like most 3rd party ATC requires a "second" monitor (in my case, "5th" monitor that doesn't exist - the current 7" will have to go). I want to add a dedicated mon…

  15. Hi I am hoping to pick the brains of you DIY'ers out there building home cockpits for a very unusual situation. Explaining this to other people who dont understand the meaning of your flight simulation hobby comes up with meaningless answers like just use a laptop. Background... About 13 years ago, I have alot of trouble to sit. Good for about 5 min before excruciating pain hits down the spine and into the neck. It involves multiple nerves that are stuck and cant be operated on. But there is no way I am going to lose my 35 year hobby and was determined to continue flying. For these past 13 years my desk is actually my bed. I did this by building a w…

Hi, About 10 years ago I started a project with Gene Buckle and Wayne to build a full scale 737 sim with a collimated display. Perhaps some may remember the extended discussion, pics, and videos of the project on other web sites. Now the time has come to move and over the last few months thought how best to dispose of all the hardware and spare parts and have to decided to just give it all away on a first come first serve basis. Here is a brief synopsis of the system. The 737 cabin is pretty much a DIY mixture of hardware from FDS, OpenCockpits, and others and trips to aircraft bone yards. The collimated mirror has an eight foot radius based on a design provi…

  22. Hi I am building a home cockpit (Own design). The goal is to able to fly all jets but the cockpit is based and plan for B737. I am building for Prosim737 as I own. Great peace of software but am I able to reach same realism by using my hardware directly to FS2020 without Prosim. The only I need is to be able to remove the 3D cockpit and gets the displays into my monitors in my own build cockpit. Am I able to reach such solution? Best regards Fredrik
