I am thinking of moving to back projection. I want to do some tests and am looking for a cheapish screen material. If it works OK I can lash out on a good screen (or screen goo) which are a bit expensive.Anyone got any suggestions?ThanksBarry Kensettwww.a320sim.com

Hi Mike,I would like to know if you could supply some suggestions to help with the following problem if have.I run IO cards Servo board which can handle 4 analogue inputs and sixservos. They use a 16c745 pic which uses the supply for Vref for the A/D.My problem is that when connecting a pot(i want to use 5 turn ww pot)for trim control i find the output is not very stable.I find the trim postion servo chatters at the same time as the trim wheel in FSstutters.Iv looked at the output to FS and last digit from the a/dvaries.If i replace the pot with a fixed resistor divider this instability virtually dissappears.Iv been told by IO Cards peoplethat this is normal and is caused …

Hello,I know this isn't exactly cockpit building, but if anyone can help me figure this out, I'd imagine it's you guys.At home I have a nice HOTAS, but on the road all I have room to pack is my Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 (basically a PS2 controller for PC).The issue is that the Z-axis on the gamepad is self-centering, therefore I can't use it very well as a throttle unless I want to hold it in place 100% of the time, which I don't. I've mapped buttons to the increase and decrease throttle functions before, but in some sims like Falcon and IL-2, I really need more precision.I was thinking I could take out the centering spring for that axis and then find a way to tighte…

Hi everyone, That was a little difficult, but that's it! I almost finished the rails for the seats of Boeing 737NG. Now I can affirm that it is possible to build its own rails and that they are very close to the real rails. The main difficulty is due to the fact that these rails are "L" rails to permit to make some place between the seats and the pedestal. The way I used is working very good... Here is a photo while waiting to put all the details of this building on my site ...in a few days!

Evenin'Could someone just confirm that I'm not missing something? I have a 4 pc network with multi-monitors on each pc. I would like to use the network better to run gauges/windows on some of the displays. NOT outside views, just such as engine instruments, right CDU, lower EICAS etc. I know of and use WideView for exterieurs and MaxiVista for some panels. The latter is great but unfortunately limited to a total of 3 virtual displays. What I'd like is MaxiVista with 5 displays! Could someone just confirm that I'm not missing some handy utility to achieve this? WideFS would not be able to do what I want, right?? FS9 is the version I use. Thanks in advance for the …

Recently, I purchased the 737 CDU from Opencockpits and received it on June 2, 2008 (just a week ago). For personal reasons I cannot keep it and would like to sell it. This unit is BRAND NEW and is still in the box in which it came.I was wondering if someone on this forum might be interested in purchasing it from me. I would like to sell it for 90 Euros or $190 USD. I will pay for shipping. I'm open to your best fair offer. My email address id [email protected] in case you have any questions. This is what the unit looks like (I don't have the microswitches or the monitor. Opencockpits sells it for 120 Euros):http://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/fmc-737-p-97.htmlThanks. Gian…

Hi,Im in the process of exploring possibilities for improving the realism of my current setup. In connection with this I plan a gradual transition from my current one FS PC setup with only ActiveSky and Squawkbox offloaded to a laptop, to an intermediate solution with PM software for all, and further with a planned implementation of some of the PM software withcertain hardware. Havent quite decided what yet.One thing I picked up in PMs manual was the fact that they advise against running several of their applications on one PC, with the argument that only one application could be active at any one time, and only this receiving accelerated graphics. As I see it there are the…

Several of the September 11th hijackers received pilot training at flight schools in the United States. As a post-9/11 measure of national security, the United States Transportation Security Administration developed the Alien Flight Student Program (AFSP) to scrutinize non-US citizens who apply for FAA certification the US. Following a candidate's application to the AFSP, which includes disclosure of identifying documents and other information, the TSA conducts a lengthy background review process and issues the flight school or instructor either a letter of authorization or disapproval to commence with the candidate's flight training. There is little doubt that this as a…
