More precisely, an Tachometer. If i touch its two contacts, marked plus and minus, to a battery, I can make the needle move.I don't know if the RPM needle position is simply a function of applied voltage or if AC current needs to flow.Any ideas how I can get this to work via the PC and MSFS? I have zero electronics experience but I can definitely write a program to extract the variable from MSFS and apply it to whatever interface I can use, if I get motivated enough.More details: the instrument is from the 1950s and I bought it off Ebay for 47 including shipping :)

Hi There:I'm interested in buying a digital input USB controller in order to wire a switch I purchased to activate the landing gear in my Cessna 182RG cockpit setup. I have bought a nice switch to be used as landing gear switch. The switch works like the real switch on many GA planes. The handle must be pulled out and engaged either up (for gear up) or down (for gear down). Once it is set up or down, the handle can not be moved unless it is pulled out and either set in the up or down position.I'm not sure where to buy such a device that will not cost me an arm and a leg. Simkits has one that can hook up to 32 switches or pushbuttons. It costs 99.50 Euros ($157 USD)…

I have two questions:1)how can I import all the custom controls (joysticks, keyboard etc) from my FS9.cfg to the FSX XML format?2)I use a second monitor to display instruments, however, it only goes up to 800X600 while FSX's lowest rez is 1024X768. The graphics are displayed, but the panel flickers a lot so I would like to be able to bring the resolution on that second panel down , in full-screen mode. Thanks!

Hi all,I have been desperately looking for information on the MJoy (USB joystick interface) project. The site of the author www.mindaugas.com/projects/MJoy/ appears to be down. Can anyone point me to an alternative link?I recall that the schematic(s) and the latest version of the MJoy code were freely downloadable, so if anybody could email them to me, it would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks in advanceAntony

I have had the good fortune to locate a real Civa Carousel IV CDU and MSU. I would like to build a "real" functioning Civa to interface with FS9 and FSX (i.e. connect the real hardware to FS). I was looking at Flightdecktechnology USB boards and software. These boards allow people to connect pushbuttons, potentiometers, relays, rotary encoders, 7-segment display readouts, LEDs, etc. to FS. I was wondering if anyone with more electronic/software experience than I have could tell me if the Civa software from Simufly would allow such connections, and if you would have some feedback to give me on how to best achieve what I set out to do. This is a hobby for me. I have li…

Hello all !I'm advanced home cockpit builder, and now I have rearranged my Glass Cockpit setup to work with EFIS unit connected to FSBus.The idea was of course to program EFIS buttons and switches in FSBus and then send keyboard events via LAN to client computers with running OGS 1.2During this process I have encountered strange problem:I can't run FSClient on more then one computer. In FSBus CDK I used this in FSbus CDK simulator.dab:load fsclient.iniUDPStart ( computer 1 IP)UDPStart ( computer 2 IP)UDPStart ( computer 3 IP)But FSClient runs correctly only on one of those PC's, when it's IP is listed above on 1,2 or 3 place (so the order of IP listing makes no difference…

I am not an expert on this. But I thought it might be useful to give some very very basic examples on how to get started with SIOC. Questions and comments are of course welcome, I might very well overlook something or perhaps this is just unclear and hard to understand. So ask. Lets try to help each other with this :)SIOC Tutorial Very simple SIOC tutorial. Stuff between 3 dashes ("---") are example code.Everything works via *variables*.A variable can be:* a FSUIPC offset (1): --- Var 2, Link FSUIPC_OUT, Offset $0BE8, Length 4 // 0/16383 ---* a IOCards switch (2): --- Var 3, Link IOCARD_SW, Input 89 // Landing gear switch ---* a IOCards LED output (3) --- Var 4…

Hello all! After about 2 years of dormancy, I am finally in a position to continue building my sim. I have started by converting my attic into a room capable of handling this monster. A dedicated power line, and a secondary power source were fed to the room, so there is PLENTY of juice available for the sim. An area for an instructor operating station has been built, and an area behind the sim room is available for cutting/construction. I revamped the web site to make upkeep/archiving easier, so please enjoy!I have learned a LOT from the last 3 attempts :-) This time, I will be using a lot more metal, and fabrication techniques.http://www.777simulator.com/P.S. - The old w…

For those interrested in the subject, I just add many details on my site about the way I used to backlight the Engravity OH panels and how I put LEDs in the annunciators. Also you will find the exact leds number in case you choose to use the same one! Like always there are a lot of photos...

Hi I am looking at experimenting using FSLCD with the LCD to Parallel circuit. Iam also currently experimenting using LPT Switch. While there is some information available, there appears to be some areas of FSLCD's capabilities, which are not clear. Seeing as there must be many of you who have been down this road already, I'm hoping that you can be of help.1. The / LCD to Parallel circuit combination is generally said to support 2 x LCD Modules, on a single parallel port. Is there a character limitation to this? Are 2 x 40x4 Modules Supported? There has also been some written of up to 3 modules being used on a single Port, but no circuit, or details of any limitations hav…

Hi,Ian Cameron from Australia has built a Level-D 767 based flight simulator. In terms of flight deck systems coverage his cockpit is outstanding, thanks to the availability of the Level-D SDK.His interface system is Opencockpits (IOcards + SIOC). My Lekseecon program connects SIOC with the Level-D SDK.Some small video clips can be found at my website, page show case:Ian putting the battery switch on, Ian taking off at Sydney and Ian lands safely at Canberra.Have Fun!Nicohttp://www.nicokaan.nl

How do I get throttle input from a bicycle crank? I am trying to create a human-powered airplane simulator with Microsoft Flight Simulator 9. In other words, the pilot must pedal a stationary bicycle, a sensor measures the RPMs of the wheel, and those RPMs must be sent to Flight Simulator to adjust the throttle. If the pilot pedals faster and faster, the throttle will increase.I don't know where to begin with the coding in FS9, nor how to get this to work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi,I am almost at the stage of deciding which type of monitors to use and would appreciate some help/info on the best way to go. I'm thinking of using 3 x 19" monitors for the outside view in conjunction with Triplehead2go. Another 21" monitor for the PFD/ND and a 19" for the EICAS and standby guages. The difference between the widescreen and "normal" is approximately 1 1/2" - 2" in width and I could use 19" widescreen for the PFD/ND but am concerned about whether the guages and displays will look "stretched" This is the same for the outside view.Any advice would be very helpfulMany ThanksRob

Hi Norbert,You seem to be one of the few still working with Fsbus.I see from one of your posts you listed code showing the use of POTI statement.Have you actually tried to use this command with hardware and not the VC option.Im able to get the VC to work with the Mixture, propand Throttle. But not my hardware.Fsadmin shows my pots working fine. Can you confirm that you have had the hardware work the controls inFs9.I used your code but still it didnt work with hardware. Also i notice that the cowl Flap control doesnt work properlyanymore. This was brocken once and fixed but it appears not rightwith the latest version. Are you able to confirm this.Look forward toyour comments.…
