Does any one know of a "busy" airspace/control tower/airfield that I can park my plane at and listen to ATC? I want to get into flying online, but have absolutely no idea about ATC procedures apart from the ones built into FS9CheersJon

I have read everything and thought I have done everything i need to get up and running and still no luck,I hit connect to a server and either says bad username/password or it will show connect gray and disconncet black for about 10 seconds and then it goes back to connect black and discconet gray I have tried many diffrent servers they are active servers. I can send flight plans and it shows them being sent in FS. Would someone be willing to add me to their messenger so we can chat about this a bit. I have went step by step thur the instructions to no avail. Heck I would even be willin to call someone so they can step me thru I a know it is some bonehead mistake I am mis…

Just joined VATSIM after about 4 or 5 years of being a jilted lover by the former owners. I was VERY hesitant to join because of all the problems that used to pleage the 'former' regiem. After speaking with numorous people I decided to give it another go.Guess what: The first thing that happens is that I can not download squawkbox or procontroller. Seems one keeps linking back to the VATSIM main page that tells me to link to the downloads page that links back to the main page...well you get the picture, and the other tells me that there is no such page on the server.Any help would be nice.

Hi,Do the controllers on VATSIM usually welcome mid-flight emergencies? I'm thinking something along the lines of a triple engine failure on a 747 at cruise altitude, then having to dump fuel and come down to land at another airport.Would they enjoy dealing with something like this or would it just be considered an annoyance?Cheers :)

Unfortunately back again. Everytime I try and open SB Relay 1.2, it freezes. I've went step by step on the site FSPilotGuy.tk to set it up correctly, and still get the same problem. I've looked at the troubleshooting, taken the suggested steps to fix the problem, and still nothing. Does anyone happen to have the same problem, or have a useful solution to it? I've looked everywhere for help, even the creator of the program himself, Simviation.com Forums, Avsim, you name I've posted there. Really need this fixed ASAP. Sincerely-Julio

Tried to hookup with FS2004 today. Hi,I recently registered at VATSIM and received my ID number, but I never recieved any e-mail confirmation with my password. I then did a ID status check, but again recieved nothing by e-mail, so I sent a message to the VATSIM Membership Department, and have not recieved any reply up to this time.Could there be a problem with my e-mail address I have Outlook Express with Roadrunner as my internet provider? and I also have no antispam programs.If my E-mail address is causing the problems I have aother one on AOL, but how would I go about changing it?Thanks in advance for any help.Best Regards,BriCrock1157

Could anyone tell me how to access the aviation charts for the airports in Germany. I go the the VATSIM site for Germany and everytime I click on the link for the charts for German airports, I get a page telling me something to the effect to not link to this page and to go make my own? I don't understand why they would tell us to go make our own? Every other region on the VATSIM network seems to happily let us download charts. Thanks for any input on this issue.

Hi all,I'd really like to give VATSIM a try, as I'm a "real" world pilot also.However, I have an older computer (PII400) running FS2K2 and a slow dial-up 'net connection, 26,400bps most of the time.Just wondering if with this old computer and slow connection it would even be worth trying to fly on VATSIM?Regards,ScottKJMS

Hi All,After complete reinstall I have a connection problem. Everything works fine until I get to the point of right clicking on the hostsb to connect to the game and I get a "wsaeconnrefused" or a box simply refusing entry.Have tried all I know but with no success and need some help. Are the servers still having problems? Heres why I ask, I set everything up, SB connects,(FP seems to file) RW connects, but ServInfo wont show anyhting not even doing the Shift/VATSIM, BAV ACARS gives me a NO LINK TO VATSIM message. I dont even come up as being online on VATSIM site.Am I missing something? Am I doing something wrong?Brian

Hey all,I've got a problem: whenever I try to connect as ATC with ASRC, nothing happens. Also, when I pull up the servers in ServInfo and hit the button to ping the server, all of the attempts come back as "LOST". I have no clue what's going on here, but I've tried every server in ServInfo and the three listed ones (USA-S1, USA-S2, UK) in ASRC in the connection dialog. I finally tried out FS9 on Vatsim today, using SBRelay 1.2, but found that I cannot see other aircraft. I knew another plane landed after I did because I could see him in FSNavigator, but I couldn't actually look out my plane window and see any other aircraft at all. Is there something I need to download or a setting I need to change? Any help would be appreciated.KP
