Although not absolutely essential to its functionallity, ServInfo relies on FSUIPC for a few things:- Identification of ATC facilities within range displayed in the ServInfo gauge and the tray icon menu (when SI is minimized)- Tuning of COM1 frequency from the tray icon menu (when SI is minimized)- Notification massages for online ATC positions in the FS window ServInfo is now accredited for use with unregistered FSUIPC v3.xx copies. From the next version ServInfo will work OK with the new FSUIPC, without the user needing to provide any key (the proccess of registering ServInfo to FSUIPC will be performed automatically by the program). For the time being, until the new Ser…

Good morning everybody, I have been registered on vatsim for a week now and using skawpbox/r wilco/r wilco control for my multiplayer flights on FS, but since 3 days, all my connections to www.vatsim.net, including those related to it such as servinfo and roger wilco control for vatsim suddenly don't work!..I don't understand anything because my internet works well though, and i can't have acces to it! It's very annoying; i count on you to provide me some useful help, those of you who are familiar to it.Thank you guysMichaelParis, France

Hello simmers,The "Welcome to Israel" event of BAV will take place today, while many others will join along the way. Full ATC in Israel is granted from 1600-2100z and we believe we will get busy... both main and alternate airports will be active (LLBG and LLOV), and diversions are possible under heavy traffic. All info, charts and sceneries can be found at VATIL website, http://simdata.sourceforge.net/vatil . Added tonight: LLOV scenery - first release for the event! check it out at the website. Flight regulations over southern sector (LLSC) also added, and can be read here http://simdata.sourceforge.net/vatil/south_israel.html .See you tonight and thanks to Darren and BAV,…

I would send this to the authors of this amazing add-on, but don't know how...I have a problem with the tiny text. I don't know if it's my monitor (17" MagView, not cutting edge I know) or my eyes (never been a problem before...) I am running 1024x768, which seems right. If I drop to 800/600, the data boxes overwhelm the screen, and the text isn't all that much better.I am getting better at reading the microtext, but sometimes I still misread an altitude, callsign, or digit somewhere.I don't know if a different font would help, or a slightly larger font size, but it makes controlling just a bit more difficult. Having seen the real ATC scopes, I know they don't have to fig…

I use Vatsim quite a bit and am comfortable with SB, RW etc. However, I have recently been trying to use FS Multiplayer to hook up with a friend using him as host. We are having some troubles (he can see me but I can't see him).In an attempt to rectify this, I want to be the host, but as I am unfamiliar with XP, I can't figure out how to find my IP address. Can anyone help? (Yes, I do disable the XP firewall).Cheers.

I was just wondering, becuase it seems that VATSIM has recently certified "Meridian Virtual" (http://www.meridianvirtual.tk/), which seems to be a fake VA, which was created just to annoy the REAL Meridian Airlines (VA). If you visit their site, you'll see there is no flight schedule, no way to contact management, and any form you try to submit takes you to "their" download page, which was stolen from, and linked directly to OUR site. Since the "join" form doesn't even work, I'd think that the roster of pilots is fake too. I was just wondering how VATSIM went about this "certification", and why it didn't seem strange to anyone that there was a new VA using a name tha…

For those who'd like to do some VFR flying, here's a short tutorial on how it works in the USA. Other countries are a little different. Using charts that came with FS, I'll go over a few examples that will cover flights from bush airstrips to the busiest airports and everything in-between. If you take a look in your Fs2002/charts/flights/desert adventure, you'll see some excerpts of what is known as the "VFR sectional". The sectional is the map that VFR pilots use. Hopefully you have them installed, otherwise you might have to browse through your FS CD's. Open up the file Desert06.jpg which centers on Las Vegas and use it to follow along. For the first sample flight,…

    1) Do VATSIM controllers ever give a GPS approach clearance, or do you have to ask for it?2) Being an older IFR pilot and never having used GPS, do GPS approaches give a glide slope signal, or do you have to control your rate of descent manually? Thanks for your input.Dave Hinson

Hello all,I have just had a problem using R/W on Line . Everthing seems to go ok and when I click on ATC within the directory, I hear the typical ping and R/W pops. And for a second I see a whole bunch of other call signs and then suddenly it vanishes to be replaced by a black one. All efforts to communicate with ATC go unanswered and if I try text it just goes Ping and nothing sent.Any Ideas? Thanks and regards,WS (Bart)

For those that are interested, here's how the real world unicom works. This applies to airports in the USA, but other countries should be similar. I hope this helps those that are wondering what that strange "unicom 122.8" on list of controllers is.A unicom is a privately operated radio station, usually run by what is know as a fixed based operator (FBO). FBO's, for lack of a better description, are the service stations of aviation. Many are small mom and pop operations that sell fuel and maybe some supplies. They may be the only building on the airport. Others are large and luxurious, catering to the elite and lucrative bizjet crowd. The bigger ones offer fuel, …

  23. Hi there,I have a few questions with regards to online flying that I couldn't find the answer to in the turorials and forum here.1) How can I find out what weather info is current (i.E. Information Alpha, or Bravo etc.). I know how to request weather via the FMC or Servinfo but I don't know whether it's Bravo or Charlie.....2) I'm a instrument rated pilot in real life but I'd rather get vectored during both departure and arrival than filing a DP/STAR (just to practice IFR communication and increase workload ;-) How do controllers handle that if I use "no DP, no STAR" in the remarks section of the flightplan to let them know that I don't have the charts (or rather want to …

However, I recently joined Eurostar VA and am wondering, what kind of major differences, if any, can I expect in VATSIM ATC procedures in Europe, specifically in the United Kingdom.Any help is greatly appreciated :-)Thanks,MarcMarc Gibsonhttp://www.freewebs.com/flightsimcfi/http://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindicato...tor=OD1&a=a.jpg
