SBRelay is a program to enable FS2004 with SquawkBox 2 (SB) and the various networks it supports (VATSIM, IVAO, etc.). It does this by creating an FS2002 session and an FS2004 session internally, and then translating and forwarding all SB players from the FS2002 session to the FS2004 session. By connecting both SB and FS2004 to SBRelay, you can fly in FS2004 and be connected to the network, just as you did with FS2002. SBRelay is a multi-threaded C++ Windows application built for high performance, and uses very little CPU or system resources.Download from the SBRelay web site:http://www.chocolatesoftware.com/sbrelayWhat's new in version 1.2:- Fixed a problem that causes S…

Been around a while, but still a relative newbie to vatsim relative to all of the ins and outs.Installed FS2004 some time ago, and am now trying to implement VatSim flights for the first time. (Implementing SBRelay, latest issue)Once communication is established, I see a repeated warning in SB that my first name and surname must be registered correctly or I am fixing to be in trouble. I do not recall ever seeing this in FS2002, but may have just missed it. First question. Does this text always show up regardless of whether I have done everything correctly to this point or not? On my first attempt, VatSim told me I had done everything correctly. There are three places for n…

Hi everyone. I'm new to the AVSIM forums, but not at all new to Flight Sim or to aviation.I'm wondering how one becomes an ATC at VATSIM? What are the qualifications and/or training materials? It's something that I, and some of the others in my virtual airline (Hyperion Airways) are very interested in learning more about. Thanks!Scott E. My Flightplan is not listed & I cannot "join session".Everything goes fine through the FSNAV originated and exported flightplan to Squawkbox, connection, HostSB, and the SB Main Program procedures until I reach the "join session" step. When I click on "start search" in the "join session" box and enter "127.0.0.1" as I always have had to do, my flight plans are not recognized, and the box remains empty. The XXXX-YYYY.sbp files are listed in the Squawkbox folder. (I also tried it without the "127.0.0.1" entry.)I realize that this step can be bypassed and a flight plan made up later in the precedure, but this seems to be doing things the hard way to me, and it still doesn…

I registered for VatSim yesterday and worked through lots of FAQs, tutorials, etc. but am still somewhat confused about EXACTLY which files go where. I have both FS 2002 and 2004 installed. Should I set up FS 2002 for VatSim and hold off on 2004 or...?I do understand that either will work but want to get started with a minimum of tinkering. My online experience is limited to four years of Warbirds using Roger Wilco and Teamspeak. If someone will list and briefly describe the files needed I will be greatful. Some of those mentioned in tutorials ( such as Whazzup (sp?)) I couldn't find. Thanks again.

Does anyone know how to setup a network so more than one person can fly in VATSIM. I have 3 computers in the house connected to a router, but I can't seem to get each player to their own session.Does it have to do with the IP Address of each computer?I read some where about how to do it, but now I can find it doing a search. Thanks for any help.........

Is there anything happening in the US as far as ATC is concerned at about 01:00 to about 03:00 zulu in the US? I'v got some friends arriving and would like to showcase Vatsim via Pilot Point of view around this time. KSFO/KOAK KLAX are preffered, but KATL/KORD/KCLE/KJFK/KBOS are also fine, or so is anywhere else. I'd like to be able to go from tower through departures, centre, approach and tower gain, but final centre approach and tower are I guess all that's necicary. Anyone know of what is usually active around this time of day in the US? (that being 6pm til 9pm West Coast USA and 9pm til midnight East Coast USA)Advice appreciated.

Wilco's B767 PIC is in the opinion of may, the best flight simulator add-on ever. It is not in print anymore, but it was recently found that the program can be downloaded directly off of Wilco Publishing's website.I know many VATSIM flyers have been looking for this great add-on, well it's is available, so spread the word.https://euro.swreg.org/cgi-bin/b.cgi?s=8016...&v=0&d=0&q=1&t=If you are new to the forum or haven't heard about B767 PIC follow the link below to learn more about this great add-on.http://www.avsim.com/Click or ReviewsAircraft Reviews then scroll down about three quarters of the way down the page and look for 767 Pilot in Command by Wil…

It's a small program that plays a SELCAL in a Loop until stopped, when you are contacted by private or callsign message. The traditional ding dong sometimes it's not enough for me if I'm not looking to the screen :-) needed something that really make me pay attention.http://pt.simflight.com/downloads/ImHere.zipJos

I have yet to get SB, VAtsim, etc to work together in FS2004. I have been around long enough to follow directions and RTFM....:-)SBRelay shows the connection. FSPIUC has accepted the freeware registration for SB 2.3; SB boots up, and I can connect. But, whenever I go to the ATC Directory, the only thing showing up is Unicom...and sometimes something called Autodata...Every now and then, the directory will show an extended list of controllers, including those who are clearly way out of range from where my plane is parked. Then, when I reclick, it's back to Unicom only.I have had online communication with two other flyers who have had this same experience. If you have had …

Hi,Does anyone at VATSIM know if the number of online flights has decreased since the introduction of FS2004? Would it be reasonable to say that a large number of Virtual Airline members are using "non FS standard aircraft" and therefore pending compatibility patches for FS2004 for most sophisticated aircrafts, the activity on Virtual airlines has dropped? Are any statistics on the type of aircrafts used for online flights? (I tried to compile some stats with Servinfo but it is quite hard to get an accurate picture). The reason for this enquiry is to try to figure out if a less MSFS dependent concept of flight simulation is a viable solution. This mainly, to avoid the fru…

Well this is the new version, and the only one available that i have seen. Now I haven't flown on VATSIM for a while, so I understand this is the new version that I need. I put the FSUIPC.dll in my Modules folder, everything correct, try to start up squawkbox, then it shows a message regarding the FSUIPC.dll, that it won't work unless I get a registerd copy/key. I thought FSUIPC was free? When that error came up i still continued, and tried to connect to SB, but to no avail it did not work, the current airport I was at, was about fully staffed, and the only thing that came up in the ATC directory was the Unicom frequency. Please help, I really want to start flying on VAT…

I haven't flightsimmed for a while, let alone on Vatsim. Now today i planned to take a flight, and I get on Flight sim, get to the gate, than i task switch over to the internet and try to file a flight plan, everything on the flight plan is perfect, when I hit file flightplan it says: An error occurred while processing your request. The server said:error filing flight plan I dont know if im doing something wrong, but I don't think so? The way i get it is you file the flight plan, then you connect to multiplayer game, squawkbox, etc. I appreciate all the help, thank you in advance. Pedro KEWR
