Hi Guys,This morning I took off from OTBD(Doha ) enroute to Mumbai(VABB)I was vectored by OTBD-APP.I must admit being the first time online, I was really excited but made a little bit of a muck up when I was told to resume "own Navigation".I climbed to FL310 instead of FL330, then asked the approach what the correct flight level was!!!!I think he got a lil bugged becoz he did not respond to my requests for flight following afterwards.(Unless he had logged off)have these questions;1) How do I get handed over from one controller to another.2) Once I have been told to "resume own navigation" , Can I request flight following?3)Logically I guess the next hand off would be to A…

I have been getting lockups and then computer crashes aftera few seconds. Seems to only happen in SB. The error messageis a possible hardware failure during a write operation on myvideo card. Only started doing this a month or so ago. Anyonehave any info on this?

Need Help. I've downloaded Squawk Box and FSNavigator in order to fly online. Problem is I am following the direction that I got off line am doing fine until I get to the point that I join the file I setup. The directions state "You should now observe the old, familiar SquawkBox Access Panel appear within the empty application window that opened up" The only thing that shows up is a little bar with and up and down arrow, a box with an F and an E and a smaller bar with blue boxes. Hi all,just wondered if someone can tell me.On procontroller there are the ratings 0bserver upto Administrator.Is there a text that anyone can point me to that describes what each rating is 'able to do' in other words what privileges each rating has.thanks in adavanceMS

Just as the subject says, when I start SB it can't find the ICAO.dat or the "airport.dat, vor.dat" and the other .dat files. I have the files in the same directory as sb.exe but it still isn't working. I remember this being a problem a while back but I can't remember how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm using Squawkbox over widefs and I'm not getting any of the CSL aircraft to come up. Every aircraft I see looks just like me. I've got the CSL aircraft folder in 'aircraft' under the computer running FS2K2. Here is the folder it's in: F:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFS2002aircraftCSL I've also got a copy of CSL_ICAO.csv installed in the main directory of my FS folder.I've got the CSL_ICAO.csv installed on the computer running SB. I've also got a C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFS2002aircraftCSL folder on the computer running widefs.What am I doing wrong in order to get CSL aircraft to show up? Where can I get a listing of IP addresses to put in SB? I've tried to use the ones off of servinfo, but I keep getting the 'connection forcefully refused' error. Do they need to be listed in the address.txt in the SB folder?Thanks,

Hey everybody,The last couple of days I have not managed to log onto either IVAO or VATSIM. After filled in Password Callsign and all the other necesareties in the Log on Box, SB try to connect and then the error message comes up in the SB box inside FS:Error:Wrong password or Callsign.I have used SB now for 2 years and never had this problem, do anybody know the answer to this problem?GreetingsThomas

Hi All,I have SB running on a second computer with WideFS and it works fine. However am I right in thinking I need to run AI Bridge on the 2nd computer as well in order to be able to see the other online aircraft on FS2002. I have the CSL aircraft loaded onto FS2002 and I could see other players when running SB from the FS computer (no 1).Rgds, John

Hi,I have just upgraded to XP from ME. I am using 2 PCs networked together, using Wideclient and FS2002/FSUIPC.For some reason I had trouble networking my 2 PCs. As I understand it XP uses TCP/IP and normally works well. In my case after many hours of trouble-shooting and it wasn't until I added IPX/SPX, on both PCs, that they finally began to talk to one another.I can load FS2002 on my main PC and Wideclient on my second PC. Both FS2002 and Wideclient connect. BTW the only way I can get FS2002 and Wideclient to talk to one another by using TCP/IP!!OK, I now go to load Squawkbox and the usual Multiplayer setup screen appears. Hi all I have difficulies to get connected, as follows:If I have an I-Net connection already established when creating Mulitplayer Session, SB wont find the multiplayer session. If not and start DSL after creating Multipl Session SB finds it, but if connected freezes... Now I found out that ist works if I put the XP Firewall "Off" but then I get nasty Messages during my flights..Anybody advice?SB2.4BETA, FSUIPC installed, latest DirectX

Somehow I'm transmitting the callsign "Aerosweet Airlines" in my flightplans through SB. I don't know how this becomes attached. All I input in the plan is my callsign VV1G425 (Navy 1G425). How does the "Aerosweet Airlines" get attached, and how do I change that.Thanks in advance.

I am getting an error with pro controller:[NETWORK]: Error [011]: Requested level too high (2)You have been disconnected from the server. (0)Retrying server...I get it no matter what server I try or what position I try. I can garuntee I have the right IPz and all that. Also I do have 2.2 so it is not because of an old version.

Just looking for an ultimate word about DirectX 9.0 : it's worthy and useful to install it or it's better to forget it ?I hear around too many different opinions on it.Someone told me that SquawkBox 2.3.5 doesn't work well with DX 9.0 as the position of aircraft on ATC radar screen is not corresponding to the real one ( 30 NM southbound or so ). But in other forum I found the solution for this issue just changing comma with dot in Control Panel/international options.So, the point is : is it advisable to install DirectX 9.0 ?What and how many problems can we expect from this regarding multiplayer activity ?thanks .Maurizio CintiComoItaly

I have set up my 2 PC's to try and make use of WideFS. It goes something like this:- I have followed directions in the readme to the finest detail and looking at the logs on both server and client machines they are talking, but when I start SB and type my name and it asks for an IP or name (where I would normally type 127.0.0.1), it cannot find the session (multiplayer) that I have set up on server PC. So therefore I don't get any other a/c or weather or anything for that matter!!Can someone lease help as I am getting close to breaking point with it all!Many thanks in advance,Graham

Hello,I have FS2002 and the latest version of SB. I just changed my internetconnection from Cable to ADSL. Now I want to make an online flight, but my SB gives the error: Unable to join game (in a window of DirectPlay Sample) after it found the mp-session made in FS2002 and I clicked join.Before I have ADSL I had no problems. Now when I make my internet connection through a LAN connection (ADSL), the problem exists.My computer runs on Windows XP.Can anyone please help me??Arjen Looijenstein

After flying on VATSIM since it's inception, and having flown over 600 hours real time. I was also a member of SATCO where I had over 1200 hours flying time (real time). Today I was barred for leaving my aircraft unattented.I was flying a 6 hour flight from KJFK to KLAX (real time), when I had to answer the phone. I was gone for about 45 -50 minutes, but I wasn't worried because there weren't any controllers up in the U.S.at this time. My flight was 1/2 finished and LAX_CTR wasn't up.Upon my return I saw I was disconnected from the server by the VATSIM staff. Jammer here again with yet another 'question from a moron';)Here-goes. Using FSBuild I create and save a flight-plan in my Squwakboox 2k2 folder. I fire up FS and connect SB. Go to 'load sb flightplan' and select the file. Upon doing this I get an error the reads as follows:'You are missing the file: csl_icao.csvAircraft will not be shown properly.'I click ok and the flightplan is layed out as it should be. Does this error mean anything significant. Is there something I can do to correct it?Could someone please give me some 'heads up' as to the where, when and why's of this dillema?As always, thanks in advance for any info.Jammer164.

Thanks to the help from a couple of forum members here I have SB running through the HostSB utility.The only problem I have is that the each time I have run it (twice now) the chat box gets minimized and can not be closed or re-opened. This is not too much of a problem mind you as I can just us the chat line in the main SB screen for sending text, it's actualy a little easier that way in my opinion.I was just wondering if anyone eles was having a similar problem or if I'm doing something wrong,(I suspect the later lol).Andy 'Jammer' Simmons.

That I can bring up S/B and connect directly from within FS without having to jump back to desktop?
