Hi,I start SBRelay and FS2004 can find the session, but when I trhy to start SB (after Host) I get a message that I need FS95, 98 or 2000 running, any idea ?Thanks,Ulisses

I'm a bit confused with setting up SB to run with FS2004 since its not listed on the choices.Should I install the FS2000 or FS2002 version of SB. Whats the difference between them in running it with FS2004? Is it better to run one over the other, is their something I'm missing??I followed all instructions on the www.fspilotguy.tk webpage and am ok on that and already have SBRelay and all the other things needed. I just want to make sure I run it with the right version of SB so I can get back into it.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have used SB before and one of the biggest drawbacks is lack of coverage..Like the Detroit fly in, I can see because of the extra coverage.Can someone clarify how people use SB when not all of the flight plan is covered at certain times, or perhaps has never had coverage?For example.I depart Denver with VATSIM controllers, then when I fly out of their range, then what?? If the next Center is not covered, what do you do next? Then it is kind of hit and miss with coverage at the destination. So how do SB users fly?Do you switch over to FS ATC? Do you let the FMC fly with no ATC? What is the point???Please enlighten me..I see quite a few flight sim pilots flying on VATS…

I am new user of squakbox. I have followed the vatsim step by step turorial verbatum. After connection is established with sb, I'm supposed to select ATC Directory. I do this but all I see is unicom, so I select that. Then I type .atis atc_callsign....but never get the atis. I do see text saying "atis on request".I am using ServInfo to be sure I am connecting to an active server.I have even tried flying my flight,continually updating ATC directory, to see if when aircraft changes positions I might pick-up more ATC...no luck.Also, I downloaded the wazzup program and after I connect I think I should be able to see my aircraft there...but can't.Any ideas, any help is muc…

Hi folks:Just fired up SB and flew on VATSIM for the first time in 8 months or so, and for the first time with FS2004.I use WideFS, so the main PC has FS2004 only. The client PC has SBRelay 1.2, SB 2.3.4, RW, FSMeteo v6.3.After about 5-10 minutes SBRelay will ALWAYS lockup. Then my MP session is hosed, and I intentionally crash FS2004 out of frustration.... Well, not really, but it sounds dramatic :-)I did try to run SBRelay on the main PC (vice the client PC) but it still locked up.I'm running WinXP SP1 on both machines, and I'm using WideFS over TCP/IP.I'm not really in a rush to fix this, because I really don't plan on flying online until SB3 is released; however, i…

When an online pilot changes aircraft, I still sees him/her with the same plane he was in.There is a dot command to reload the other person plane without having to restart squawkbox but I can't seem to remember it.Can any one help me out?ThanksAb

Ok, I'm stuck. I just finished re-doing my entire computer, removing FS2002 and SB and have replaced everything with FS2004.I went through the steps listed off the VATSIM page on how to setup SBRelay, SBHost and SB, but still no luck.What happens is when I start SBRelay I connect with no problem, I then go into FS2004 and connect multiplayer, I select SBRelay and join. Everything works their. I then choose HOSTSB from the FSIM menu under modules and SBHOST is loaded, I then load SB and the beginning part seems like its about to work. It did happen to me several times now since one week...Here's the typical scenario :I log in SB on IVAO, everything is allright, i load a FP with FSNav, and after a certain time flying, the engines RPM goes at max with airspeed indicating ZERO. The auto pilot seems to be completely messed up and the plane is out of control.What i do in this case is switch the autopilot off, and manually take control back of the plane, but i still have to wait random time till i can read airspeed again.this bug is totally random.When i fly offline i have no prob at all.I'm using SB, HostSB.dll, and fly on IVAO with FS2004.Strange thing is that this bug appeared when i did install a new pla…

oK. Its time for me to get back into flying with Air Traffic Control. However when I go to the www.vatsim.net homepage there are no exact files for use with FS9. nOW iVE READ PLENTY ABOUT SB RELAY AND OTHER THINGS.Ok I have one pc with Windows xp pro. I have FS9 only and deleted the FS2002 program a while back. I reallly want to get my self back in the pilots seat and flying with u guys especially in the UK. I have tried and tried with no luck in every forum I could find to get an answer. Seems I am the only one having this problem I guess.I load my sim and SBRelay or the IVAO relay fine. The problem starts when I try to load Squawkbox itself. It just shuts me down. Sends my COF back to desktop. here is a screen of what the relay says when i load SquawkBox. It seems to have a different excuse each time as to why it boots me. When I try to connect SB I am now getting this WSAETIMEDOUT. I tried a reinstall but no help. Any one with any ideas on this?Brian

hi there, i am trying to get SB to work with FS9 but when loading HostSB.dll my computer crashes ... i have XP home . when i revert to the one included in SB iam not able to fly full screen. any advice to get it work correctly would be appreciate.henry cyxt

I wrote a vb script to put the PAI files into the CSL file. It seems to be working.However, when I am connected and change a/c in SB, it doesn't force an update on the other machine(s). In order to get it to change, the machine that changed the a/c needs to reconnect. Is this a bug or feature?Also, I'd like to have some beta testers. After installing HostSB.dll, fsuipc and others I get the following message on startup of FS9 "incompatible aircraft or software file: HostSB.dll" anyone else ever get this? I click no when it asks me if I want to disble it and everything then seems to run fine, it's more of an annoyance then anything else...Zan

Hello,if I understand the logic behind the CSL mechanism correctly the CSL aircraft are just simple standard aircraft on a very low quality level. Now my thought was as followed: If we would edit the aircaft.csl/aircraft.cfg file (which contains the references to all these CSL-Aircraft) to point to some AI-Aircraft Models instead (FS Painter, AI-Aarkvard etc.) this should result in some better-quality aircraft to be desplayed instead of the CSL models. Hello,When I move the chat window in SB to a new position or immediately after sending a message in FS2002, the engines drop RPM and the aircraft speed decreases by about 50 knots. Fortunately, the RPM and speed increases again to their original values in about a minute. This is more of an annoyance than a serious problem but I am puzzled as to why this occurs. It does this also when I change things in Flight Navigator. Has anyone experienced this strange behaviour in SB or FS Nav?Maurice

Hi all,I recently installed the current versions of Squawkbox and FSUIPC with my FS2002 installation to start flying online. Got the communication up-and-running, but no flying yet.. The moment I want to start a flight, the simulator shows graphical errors and the plane crashes, causing the simulation to end. When I switch off crash detection, the simulation continues with erratic behavior and it looks like the simulator receives a lot of strange inputs from controls. I have a CH Products Yoke and Pedals, but they worked fine before.If I reboot and start FS2002 by itself, the problem persists... have been constantly recieving everytime I try to connect. Sometimes I rec connection timed out. I tried all of the suggestions given on the forum here.I re-installed SB, I tried 3 different versions os FSUIPCdll. An old one,2.94, #3 and # 3.1?? I tried all the latest server addresses.And I tried all these tweaks with FS 2002 and FS 2004. Same results.Will SB work without making regeristration of "any program"?.
