I downloaded Version 3.1 Beta and unzipped to windowsrcv30 folder and over-wrote all files. Now the exe file for Version 3.01 doesn't work any more and the Version 3.1 wont accept the registration key. I moved the rcv30 file to windowsrcv30 way back in order to get Version 3.0 to work in the "fast mode" as I remember it. I can't remember where the rcv30 file was originally installed. Does the location or name of the rcv30 file matter when upgrading to Version 3.1? If so where should I relocate rcv30 to make this work? I saved the Version 3.01 to another disk and the exe for it still works.RichR

I have upgraded to V3.0 just a few days ago. A test flight was performed from Oslo/Norway to KEWR and I must say, it is very nice to be switched over to the correct centers (Oslo-Trondheim-Bodo oceanic-Rejkjavik and so on). Also the norwegian chatter give that "home feeling" when flying above these beautiful mountains in the western part of the country.One thing was somewhat dissapointing though: While being on ground at ENGM and waiting for taxi clearance and during taxi, I heard some weird very syntetic sounding chatter like "Mike Victor Charlie taxi to rwy 01". I do not understand again if there is a possibility during an approach, to change the star procedure because of changing weather conditions, for example, and consequently changing of runway....bye

Hi friends,since i installed v3.1b when on short final i'm not cleared anymore to 4000 ft. as before but most of the times i'm cleared to 2000 ft. instead (i usually fly in Europe).Is that a normal behaviour? Sometimes 2000 seems to be a very low altitude.Anyway i say it again, this is a dumb question, so forgive ...cheesLuigi ;-)

I recently did a flight from EGLL to KPHX and half way across the atlantic I was told I was off course by RC. Did my FP in FSBuild following Great Circle route and NATS for the day.Saved it into flight/myflights. Loaded it into my FMC (Just Flight 777) and also loaded into RC. Checked and re-checked route to make sure both corresponded and all was OK. However at about 5530N RC informed me I was off course.Some of the Lat/Long weigh points were over 300 miles distance. Would this have affected RC's behaviour bearing in mind that we are following a great circle track?In anticipationDavid

Having read the reviews by both avsim and flightsim, i noticed that their main criticism was a lack of accented atc voices. However, through the forum, i've noticed the availability of add-ons which provide these atc accents - is this the case, and how easy is it to install them ?ThanksGary

Hi,I was handed off to approach at 10000 when the controller cleared me for 7000 then 2 seconds later he cleared me for 3500 feet and to intercept the localizer/glideslope, granted there was no way I could go from 10000 to 3500 in that short of time.I'm using rc31 beta. Just wondering if I did something wrong has duplicated this twice on the same flight. KHOU-KHRL.Thanks for any info.Sean

I have no used fs2002 atc and RC v2.2 for about a year. I re installed rc v2.2 today and tried it. the atc speech was jerky and not clear. the same applied to fs2002 atc speech. I downloaded/copied the Beta files into the RC3 folder. Copied the update waves into their respective folders. I start 3.01 up and it runs fine. I start up 3.1 Beta and it crashes - I get the standard "XXX has encountered a problem ..." I have just completed a install from the CD and upgraded to 3.01. It works. I installed 3.1 Beta - still crashes.Help! :-(-michael

JD or ScottI have just recently made a couple of flights into Calgary CYYC with RC310 and have found that the final approach altitude was assigned at 3700ft for the 1st flight and 4000ft for the second flight before intersecting glide slope. Calgary airport elevation is at 3557ft so it appears that wrong altittudes are being assigned on final and was working fine in RC301. Can you confirm or do you have any suggestions as to why this may be happening.Off the topic from above, I know that Radar Contact is designed for IFR flights from point "A" to point "B" but I find that every once in a while I will practice doing circuits. I was on final approach to Rw 26L at Atlanta today in a Falcon 50, cleared #1 at about 4 miles. I kept airspeed above 160( someone, somewhere said to do this) when a Delta jetliner taxied onto the runway. I was told to go around while the controller was giving Delta He_l. I acknowledged, pulled up the gear, accelerated, and then was cleared to land again. It was too late then as I was climbing out. Then the controller told me my gear was up (surprise, surprise) and told me to contact approach for another try. Dunno why I was cleard=ed for the second time, I was clearly past he point of landing and accelerating rapidly.Anyhow it was worth it to hear that Delta guy get a ch…

I'm a brand new RC 3.01 user. So far the product is performing as advertised using FS2002, and NAV 3.0.I like the AI controller voices, but they sound un-natural with no carrier wave in the background. Couldn't they have turned on a hair dryer or something to simulate the normal static and noise overlay in real ATC communications?Is there a way to "de-grade" the controller voices to blend in more naturally with the chatter files?

I'm interested to get Radar contact3 for ultimate realism in flying experiance, but since FS2004 with it's "enhanced ATC system" is on the horizon, so I doubt is the FS2004 ATC be as good as radar contact?As far as I know Radar contact can not communicate with AI aircrafts (and vice versa) yet, so I thought IF I buy it now maybe I have to pay for their upgrade later to make it FS2004 compatible, or yet for their addition features mentioned above. Anyone have any recommendations? Enroute, VFR/IFR, Approach plates, etc. I like to plan my flights with a VFR chart but it isn't necessary. Really miss those GNC charts I used in the USAF years ago. It would be particularly nice to have enroute charts to use with RC. Any help appreciatedBtw....most of my flights are with a propeller driven bird.

Hi there. I have added a bgl.file to fs2002 that gives an ils for mkjs. I tried it and it does work. Is there a way to get rc3.1 to see the ils. I added it to the runway txt. but that didn't work. So I guess it is not that easy:-( So is there anywayto do it? thanks keith:-beerchug

Hi As I was working through tutorial 1 of RCv3 as I tried to intercept the localiser and glideslope for KORD- Chicago -o-hare runway 4L using FS2002 there seems to be a localiser fine but no glideslope, so I ended up remaining at 4500ft and couldn't see how to get down. I then tried runway 4R and it has both needles in FS2002. I also tried runway 32 and it was fine, it seems there is no glideslope needle for runway 4L which RCv3 controller asked me to land at. I know its a FS2002 problem but could you check it out for me and let me know if you get a glideslope needle with runway 4L. I tried intercepting at 5 miles, 20miles even 2 miles out but no luck only the localis…

Hi John, I have just installed version 3.1 RC and am enjoying trying to work through the tutorials 1-8 in the manual. I cannot seem to get the controller to repeat the message using CTRL + SHIFT + /.I think thats the right keys to press, but its annoying as I often need to hear the controller again as I've missed his instructions the first time. I press CTRL + SHIFT and hold them down then press the forward slash below the question mark key but nothing ever happens, can you help me please.stuart
