Denver International Airport's, 16,000'x200' runway 16R/34L officially opens today. It's a full CATIIIc, autoland, runway. It's the longest commercial airport in the US, and can accommodate take-offs for fully-loaded heavy aircraft like the 747-400 and A380. This is good for direct long-haul international flights that couldn't take off at Denver's altitude until now. They still need to get up to about 200 knots for take-off (as opposed to the usual 140-160 knots at sea level), but it's doable. This also increases the traffic flow into and out of the airport. Unfortunately, without more gates, this only means you'll be sitting on the ground waiting for a spot to open up…

My last three flights (FS9 and RC3.1) have resulted in orders to go around when about a mile (or less) short of touchdown on an ILS approach. In each instance some joker has taxied an airliner onto the active. The last two times I ignored the waveoff fully expecting to be suspended for a time. However, after landing and getting clear of the airliner, tower gave me the usual "when clear..contact ground, etc". The only person to be chewed was the airline pilot for failing to hold short. The most recent was yesterday landing at BWIA after a flight from Pittsburgh

I've upgraded my pc and installed MSFS on the new pc. Once everything was running well, I networked the old and the new PCs and installed WideFS. I've installed serveral applications on the old pc that is now running WideClient - BAVOSP, Roger Wilco, BAV ACARS, Squawkbox, Weather Station, Boarding... They all work fine over the network with MSFS running on the new pc. All except one; RC3!It worked fine before I removed MSFS2002 off the original pc and installed it on the new one. But now that I've got WideClient in its place, the "Choose One" options on the initial RC3 screen are greyed out. I can't see any *.INI file to point RC3 towards WideClient.Any ideas how to…

Hello,Still getting used to FS2004 and RC, I am still finding annoying delays between requests and responses. The actual requests and responses are normal, it is just the delay in between that I am concerned about. For example, when I choose an option, it takes longer than it should to respond to the request. Sometimes I think that the action freezes, then it finally comes alive.Any suggestions?Paul

Hi, folks-I saw FS2004's improved ATC as an opportunity to cut down on the number of add-ons I ran with FS to get better system performance. I've been flying without RC3 for a while.Out of curiosity, I re-installed it this morning and have one question:What was I thinking?!?Although FS2004's ATC *is* improved, it's still just a wimpy pen light to RC3's 1,000,000 candlepower spotlight. I love RC3's soup to nuts, detail oriented ATC, the variety of ambience calls and the feeling I'm interacting with a real ATC system rather than following a limited script.I'm back in the fold and here to stay!-Simon

Hello, I wonder if anyone has tried to fly the PMDG 737-700 using Radar Contact? Is there a conflict between the PMDG and the FS2002/2004 autopilot? Thanks

Hi!I was at KLAS (SimFlyers) FS2004. ATC cleared to hold short of R/W 1L. I taxied to 1L hold point. Waited for one hour. I did not get Cleared for Take Off. So I moved to 7L hold point. ATC cleared for take off by saying "1L" instead of 7L. I created flight plan with FSNAV 4.6 using 7L. Running RC3.1.Please help.Cheers,fs_pjo

Good evening everybody. Here's my problem:I am running FS9 with radar contact 3.1 btch 2205 fsuipc 3.05 (registered)with advdisp 2.11 and I create my plans in FsNavigator 4.6.Since I use a networked PC I also am runningWideclient 6.1What happens is very straightforward. Like I did before in fs2k2, I created a flightplan in Fsnavigator, saved it and exported it to fs9. So far everything works as can be expected but, as fs9 has a strange way of spreading its files across the pc, my exported flightplan ends up in a directory on my C-drive.Now when I start RC, I can load my flightplan alright by pointing the program to the new directory on the C-drive and I can start RC. But t…

Some idiot/idiots has/have let a virus onto his system and it's sending me, and probably everyone here, dozens and dozens of messages with the same virus attachment. That person/people is/are also sending viruses to others with my (and everyone's in their mail list) e-mail address as the return address. Then it propagates to files all over the place and accesses e-mail addresses wherever it finds it.How many times do people have to be told DO NOT OPEN ANYTHING ATTACHED ENDING WITH PIF OR SCR? If you have Outlook, please think of getting rid of it. And finally, GET A FIREWALL AND virus SCANNER. The virus scanner will prevent the virus, but if you do get one, the firew…

I will be reformatting my entire hard drive within the next few weeks. I currently have FS2k2 and FS2k4 installed. After the reformat, I will only be installing FS2k4(FS9).I currently have the following products installed for FS2k2:Radar Contact Ver 3 (3.00.1737)I am aware that this is updated for FS9 compatibility and I look appreciate that. However, at this point I would like to know exaclty what files I should have and backup and also what steps I should take in order to make the FS9 ver reinstallation for your product go smoothly as possible.I am trying to get all the information together now to avoid any major problems later. If you need specific information from…

Hello, I tried a flight from KOAK---PHOG and then a return flight. On the first flight I did not receive any OAK Oceanic controller on 131.65. The other five Oakland Oceanic controllers came through ok. These five freqs were: 130.30, 130.35, 133.85, 131.75 and 132.75. On the return flight the only Oakland Oceanic frequency stated by Honolulu Center was 134.35. The Oakland Oceanic controllers voice was never heard and no other frequency was given. (Even though you cannot hear a controller apparently the CP does via the magic of software.) The only controller heard after the Honolulu Center was Oakland Center. All the rest of the controllers involved, O…

While flying with FS9 and RC 3.10, I hit "P" (pause) in FS9 cockpit mode and "Alt-Tab" to RC and "Save Flight".When I am ready to resume the flight later on, I start FS9 and select Default Flight, "P"ause FS9 and start-up RC and "Load Flight".After choosing my saved flight, I receive "FSUIPC not accredited ..." msg, click OK and everything loads OK.When I switch back to FS9 and need to send a key to RC (for exemple, "1" to contact center), it does not get sent to RC and the controller gets mad after repeating to contact center.Using:FS2004RC 3.10 build 2205FSUIPC 3.05AdvDisp 2.11Thank you for your helpJacques

Hello,On my last two flights, there seems to be a problem with the final approach. When approach clears me to descending altitude and directs to final, it seems that autopilot shuts off, as the plane starts to nose dive. The copilot has not returned the plane over to the pilot yet. I have had to go into emergency control, to gain control over the plane.Specs: FS2004 with all current builds and registered FSUIP 3.05Help!Paul

Hi Folks,This may appear a bit of a "thicko" question...........If Co.Pilot is flying the plane - why does she perform an Altimeter check at FL180?I would be interested to know what is so special about FL 180. Have I missed something important and if I am flying the plane, should I do an Altimeter check at FL 180?Thank you (still learning) for any help.RegardsRoger

Hi friends, today i generated a few flightplans using FSBuild.Of course i also checked to export flightplan in RC format but discovered the .apl file FSBuild produced didn't show any waypoint name but only (1) - (2) - (3) and so on; this was showed in Show Text window during flight. Now i ask, is that normal? I ask this because, as i explained in a previous post i run RC on a client PC and as of today haven't been able to import a flightplan from server PC and generate a RC adv without getting a Runtime Error 75.So everytime i have to copy from Server to client PC file .PLN and import in RC; i hoped that exporting directly from FSBuild should do the trick!Anyone? What do yo…

I`ve finally un-installed FS2002 and now use COF. I extracted the files as instructed to update RC. When I started the program, RC loaded ok, but there were no words or figures in the adv. disp. A message came up from FSUIPC which said that`one or more programs you are using is not accredited for access as an unregistered version`.I`ve un-installed PIC and FSNav and I can`t think of what other programs this message refers to.Help would be appreciated.Cheerscrashproof

Because I can`t bear to be without my PIC767, I want to keep FS2002 in addition to COF.Because of this, I`m not sure how to update RC. Should both versions of FS go into the same folder and will RC work with both of them? Also, with the update, I get a warning that FSUIPC is not valid unregistered for my purposes.Cheers, crashproof
